Chapter 28 Dinnertime

A knock on the door woke her. Since seeing the document in Stark’s old laptop, thoughts floundered in her head. It hadn’t occurred to her to take a glimpse of how long had passed since the journal entry, or even his last update.

Stark, who used her for his own pleasures. How could she even believe he harboured feelings for her? Surely it was a joke.

Would a man as secretive as Stark not set a password for his own laptop?

She tossed and turned in bed until hearing the knock on the door. As she expected, it wasn’t Stark, but Walter who had come for her.

“Dinner is served.”

“Give me a few minutes to get changed.”

“Aye, Miss Summers.”

She reluctantly stripped off her light tee and shorts and pulled on a jumpsuit. Since it wasn’t some formal occasion, she figured casual wear would be fine. Hopefully, she wouldn’t drink so much that she needed to use the bathroom a lot. That was the issue with jumpsuits.
