Chapter 25 Drunk

“I know you’re just putting on an act. You’re not really my cousin’s girlfriend, am I right?”

Ugh, you’ve got to be kidding, Sherry thought as she faced Abi. An eerie feeling followed as they exchanged looks: Sherry’s confused emotions and Abi’s secretive stares.

In spite of her young age, Abi seemed to know something about her pretence. Sherry dismissed her thoughts, thinking she was just uttering nonsense. Instead, she entertained Abi with a hospitable smile.

There was barely anyone around at the drinks table. Sherry leaned over and picked up a second martini, offering it to the young lady.

“Abi, I’m not sure why you think this way. But your cousin and I have come a long way.”
