Taking the bronze staff

The next day, the three of them gathered together and began preparations for the robbery.

Soon Timothy and Frederick were ready to head out, dressed in black to avoid being seen in the dark and equipped with silenced pistols in case of an accident.

Frederick was the one who drove them to the museum in the minibus he had purchased for the robbery. They parked their car 5 km from the museum and set off on foot, leaving Shola in the vehicle to monitor them from there. They soon reached the forest path that led to the back of the museum, and after about 30 minutes of walking, they reached the electro-coated barbed wire fence that protected the museum from intruders. They cut off a small section of wire and were able to enter successfully.

"Shola can you hear me?" Timothy asked Shola over the audio transmitter he had fitted.

"Loud and clear," was Shola's reply.

"Now we are inside the building and we're approaching the museum. We need to know exactly where each guard is and what route to follow to break into the security cameras," Timothy told Shola.

"That's right," Shola spoke again after a while. "Now that I can see you guys, you are free to move in," Shola told them.

"There are a total of 12 guards in the museum, with 4 guiding the front and back of the museum. There are 4 guards on the first floor, 2 guards in the CCTV room on the 2nd floor, and 2 guards on the last floor. The guards have daggers and some of them have pistols, so be careful and follow my instructions." Shola said to the two people.

"Okay, we're ready. How should we proceed?" Timothy asked Shola.

"You have to go forward through the back of the main building of the museum. There is a back door leading into the building. But there are two guards there and there is a camera in front of the door, so be careful," Shola said.

Whenever Timothy and Frederick find a spot that is obscured and the building's lights coudn't reach they quickly take cover there, that was how they secretly walk to the back of the museum's main building, getting to the back door, they stealthily take down the two guards without making a sound.

"Okay, just wait a moment. Let me turn off the camera at the door and then you can move in," Shola said, "and now that I'm done you can move in, I think we are lucky today. Those two people in the camera room are busy playing the Ludo game, so they are not paying much attention to the system, so I am able to get in an out from the cameras without fear of getting caught." But you must hurry," Shola told them.

"Okay then," Frederick said.

"Now quickly move to the stairs leading to the second floor. Don't worry, the camera will switch every time you move forward." Shola instructed the two.

Timothy and Frederick quickly took the stairs and went straight up to the second floor when they heard an emergency warning from Shola

" Listen, a guard is coming your way, you need to invade him by entering the office by your left quickly" Shola alerted them

Timothy and Frederick rushed to the office and entered immediately before the guard could turn around the corner.

They stare at him from the office, but he goes down the staircase.

"Fuck that's bad he's going down and might notice the unconscious guards on the first floor what should we do?" Frederick whispered to Timothy

"You should get in the camera room let me follow him and deal with him I'll catch up with you once I'm done," Timothy told Frederick "Shola focus on Frederick for now let me handle the guard that went down"

Timothy told them and followed the guard down the stairs as fast and quietly as he could keeping the guard unaware of his presence.

Timothy followed the guard down the stairs and hit him on the head hard enough to make him fall unconscious when he had the opportunity.

Then dragged him out to cover, after which he went after Fredrick to the CCTV room when he arrived, he noticed blood on the floor and the bodies of the two guards lying on the floor with Frederick panting heavily.

"What happened?" Timothy asked Frederick "I thought we agreed not to kill anyone?"

"I'm sorry I couldn't handle them both alone, which resulted in blood spills, but don't worry, they didn't die," Frederick replied

"I'm not a three-year-old child my brother, these men are dead",

Timothy angrily replied Frederick "You should have waited for me if you knew you couldn't handle them, it's not part of the plan, these people have families who depend on them yet you killed them just like that"

"Timmy, calm down, it's the street for you these types of things happen, being away for five years made you soft, but the truth is if I didn't kill them then I would be the one lying there," Frederick said in his defense

"It doesn't justify killing them," Timothy said again

"Okay guys that's enough we should concentrate on the mission at hand please" Shola's voice transmitted to their ears "What happened has happened, now the main thing is for you to finish the task at hand, and get out before other issues arise"

Timothy and Frederick cleared the area before going to the third floor and into the main room after pressing the password they took the bronze staff and after destroying the camera footage they left the museum with the treasure. Timothy and Frederick exchanged no word until they left the building.

The next morning the news of the robbery at the museum spread throughout the city of Lagos and was the talk of the town.

"Detective Yakubu what do you have to say about the robbery at the museum" A young female journalist asked the police officer at the crime scene

"I must say the thieves are professionals who left no trace after taking the treasure from the museum they made sure to destroy all evidence linking to them, but we are here to investigate and catch them which is what we are going to do" Detective Yakubu replied the media

"That's commendable, but we heard there was a loss of life at the robbery last night what are the casualties?" The journalist asked again

"Yeah it's quite unfortunate we lost two guards while four were injured but we assured you that we will surely apprehend those involved in these acts" Detective Yakubu

"Thank you very much for your time Detective" The journalist concludes

The Detective asked the museum workers different questions as they tried to get more important information after which they left, different news began to develop about the museum robbery as idle people made it the topic of discussion while the culprits were in a hotel later at night celebrating their first victory.

"This is one down two more to go, cheers to our first victory," Frederick said to Timothy and Shola sitting together with him at the table drinking wine

"Yeah, we were lucky next time we need to plan better," Timothy said "Last mission mistake must not repeat, or am no longer doing this thing

"Frederick has understood his mistake and assured you that he will be careful next time, I think you shouldn't bring this matter up again," Shola said to Timothy

"Come on guys let's get drunk tonight," Shola said and filled their cups and they drank throughout the most of the night.
