Chapter 21: Chased by the Guard Dogs

WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Gurrrrrrrrrrr!

WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Grrrrrrrr! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Grrrrrrrrrrr!

As soon as the children set their foot on the farmland there was this scary dog that started growling and barking at them from nowhere from the other end of the farmland. There was a huge dog with a long muzzle, barring its big white teeth growling and barking which was running towards them. The dog looked very big and heavy however it was running with a nimble and quick speed.

The children got scared and Bharat's face became pale since they never saw or expected any dog to be guarding the farmland.

Abhimanyu shouted: "There is a Doberman Pinscher coming towards us."

Bharat exclaimed: "Run for your life if it reaches us we are going to be dead meat or seriously injured."

Pallavi said trembling: "I never saw any dog till now from where did this one come from."

Karthik's face was pale and he said: "We will think about it later first let us escape from the dog."

Aarav was shocked the most since he fears dogs the most so he cried and leaped across the wooden wall: "Aahhhh!! Let's run for your life."

Followed by Aarav all the other children Karthik, Pallavi, Bharat and Abhimanyu also started leaping out of the wooden barrier and running towards the forest near the bushes.

The children were all running like there was no tomorrow however the speed with which the children were running could not be compared with the speed of the dog.

The average speed of a human being is Eight miles per hour and the average speed of a dog is twenty miles per hour which is more than the double speed of a human being.

It seemed like the dog would catch up to them eventually within one or two minutes maximum and they did not even have the time to reach the bushes near the forest and the trees.

WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Grrrrrrrr! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Grrrrrrrrrrr!

 Bharat thought in his heart: "If the dog catches up to us then surely we will be severely injured and if one of my friends gets injured then how will I show face to my uncle and aunts. After all today was my Birthday and my friends came here to celebrate with me today. 

Bharat exclaimed with emotions: Why is this happening today?

Bharat loved his friends very much and he valued the friendship with his friends after all his friends were the ones who would keep him company most of the time and he gets to enjoy a good time by hanging out with his friends as a teenager.

WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Grrrrrrrr! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Grrrrrrrrrrr!

The dog was looking very ferocious and was chasing them like an angry beast that will devour them like tasty meat the moment it reaches the children. So the children were very scared and were running with their full speed and every ounce of their strength.

Bharat decided in his heart: "I cannot let this dog harm or injure my friends in any way. I have to do something on my own."

Bharat got determined and said to his friend while running: "Friends you all try to reach up to that tree by the bushes and climb on to it. I don't think this dog will be able to chase you all if you guys can reach and climb the tree."

Abhimanyu said while running: "Why only us and what will you do?

Bharat said: "Try to understand with the kind of speed the dog has it will reach us before we reach the tree to climb so it will be best If I can stay behind and run in another direction so that I can try to distract the dog to come towards me and in the process you guys will be saved."

Abhimanyu said while running after Pallavi: "So you think you can deal with that angry dog all by yourself and you will be saved. No, I can never let you stay behind alone."

WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Grrrrrrrr! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Bharat said: "Oh come on Abhimanyu we do not have time after all the dog has almost reached us you all are ahead of me so go now do not look back at the max I will have a dog bite nothing much will happen to me."

Pallavi said while running after Karthik: "Yes Abhimanyu let's go."

Karthik said, running after Aarav: "Yes if letting one person get caught can save the rest of us I think we should let him be."

Aarav said at the front of the group while running: "We do not have time to discuss among ourselves so run as fast as you can."

Abhimanyu said determinedly: "No I cannot let Bharat stay behind all alone. Let's split into two groups. You guys can run ahead and I will go with Bharat and try to distract the dog towards us."

Saying that Abhimanyu stayed behind with Bharat and said: "Bharat, let's run towards the villages and come quickly we may be able to find some villagers over there."

Bharat said: "No, let's go in the opposite directions. You go towards the village and I will run towards the mountain that will give them more time to climb the tree. Hey dog, come this side come at me." He tried to attract the attention of the dog towards him by calling out to the dog and throwing stones at it while the others ran towards the tree near the bushes.

Abhimanyu also tried to attract the dog towards him and threw a stone at the dog: "Hey you wild doggy you there come this side come towards me. I am tastier than others so you will like my taste better."

Both Abhimanyu and Bharat started running back in two different directions. Abhimanyu went towards the Rajgarh village in the North while Bharat started running towards the mountains in the south and started calling out towards the dog to distract it. While Aarav, Pallavi and Karthik were running towards the mango tree by the wild bushes near the forest in the east and started to close the distance between themselves and the mango tree."
