Chapter Four.

After forty five minutes of walking, asking where my hostels were and climbing staircases, I was finally on the doorstep of my room in the hostel. I dipped my hand into my khaki pants and pulled out the keys. I fumbled the key into the keyhole and quickly turned the dooro knob opening the door. My jaw practically dropped after I faced the room, stood at the doorway, I scanned through the well equipped room, it was bigger than I expected.

To my right was a room that seemed to be the kitchen, it had a counter or maybe a breakfast bar with fruit bowl, unwashed dishes and a half filled glass of orange juice in it. A shoulder length refrigerator was placed on the way into the kitchen, it looked perfect.

To the front of me was the living room, a couch, an armchair and a recliner placed almost to the walls. A wooden coffee table in front of the couch with two different remote control on it. A 64" flat screen TV was on the wall of the left side of the living room, a HiFi system just below it and two PS pards. A bookcase was beside it with only two books in it.

On the left side of me were three rooms. I piped into the first room and immediately noticed it was the bathroom. I pushed the next door only to find it locked, maybe belonged to my roommate. I turned to the last door on the left and pushed it open, it was a little small. It had a single bed with one pillow and a duvet. An empty closet beside it and a bedside table on the other side of the bed. A full length mirror was directly parallel to the bed. I dropped my duffel bags on the wall to wall carpet below and jumped on the bed spreading both my legs and hands as I made a sign of relief.

"This is really a fancy University. I hope my stay won't be that bad after all, "I said to myself with a smile on my face.

"The new roomie huh!" a voice called from the door of the bedroom. I jumped off the bed and looked up, noticing a tall guy looking directly at me. He had long curly hair, his skin light. His appearance was like from that one of a Japanese. He wore a red hoody and brown cargo pants. "I'm Wong Lee. Your roommate," he said with a smile his hands crossed on his chest. I was right, he had a Japanese accent.

"I'm Jason. Jason McCall," I said in a whiny tone then stood up from bed.

"Welcome to the heavens McCall. Fun is served abundantly. You do not need to worry, "he said heading back to the living room as I followed. " You are a week late. Freshmen were admitted a week ago, "

"Are you a freshman, like me?"I asked, fret.

" No, I joined last summer. I'm glad I found a roomie. Staying in a big room like this by myself is tedious, "he said and I sighed." You lucky to be in this hostel. The others are not soo good as this one. The rooms in this hostel are just like this one unlike the others in the different hostels, actually the students sleeping in this hostel pay more than the other students, "he continued. I felt lucky, for once in my entire life of studying.

The thoughts of my mum paying for my tuition struck my mind. She paid all this so that I could have a comfortable life in the college. I rested my tired body on the couch as I watched Lee turn on the TV.

"So what are you going to be studying?" he asked scanning through the channels.

" English and literature."

"Economics. It's pretty tight but I can handle," he said with a smile in his face. I noticed his eyes were black when he glanced at me and looked away the moment his eyes met mine. I could tell he was not that social from the way he looked at me. He finally sat down a feet next to me after he decided on watching MTV. "I'll take you around school if you don't mind after we take lunch," he offered.

"I would love to. The school looks big and I do not want to run late to class tomorrow or get lost on my way back to my room. "

" You should have downloaded the school app. It gives you directions to every place in the campus and class timetable. It actually helped me last summer when I joined the school. I didn't have friends back then to show me around, "he said with a laugh and I joined.

I had a feeling he was not like the rude, annoying freaks in college that bossy around like bossy boots pretending to be the owners of the school. He looked kind and his words could tell that he could be trusted.

I shoved my phone out of my pockets and handed him, he then handed it back after two minutes of scrolling and typing.

"Done," he said grinning amiably at me. "I also connected your phone to the school WiFi and added my phone number in case you need me, "he continued as he jumped off the couch and headed to the door." I'll see you later Jason."

"Thank you!" I yelled greatly. Left alone in the room, I grabbed the remote control from the coffee table then laid on the couch as I scanned through the channels.
