KEVIN

The door roared as two kinds like myself walked in sharply with a woman in white in their middle. We were known as soldiers and nothing more. I still don't know who I am nor where I am. There He was, sitting Majestically with his face unknown, darkness hovering all around him. Our King, that's what they or rather we call him

"Your Majesty" One of the soldiers called "We have her now"

"Please let me go. I know everything, I want my life back. I don't want to be here" She begged

"You have failed your mission," The King said.

"Why are you doing this?!" She screamed in agony

A resounding slap from one of the soldiers and she sank silently to the ground.

He got up from His throne and for one moment I felt an emotion I couldn't describe. I would never at anytime desire to be like her. He got closer to her, held her up by her neck, and made her look directly at His face. I saw nothing, the large hood around His Head refused me any view whatsoever. Suddenly and gradually she began to glow and fade until there was nothing of her left.

She's....gone.

Everyone bowed as He slowly returned to His Throne.

"Alexander" The King called as Alex stepped forward

"Yes, Your Majesty" He answered carefully

"Kevin" The King called

Everyone turned to look at me and without further hesitation, I stepped forward

"Yes, Your Majesty" I answered

My name is Kevin. That is all I know.

VERONICA

"Happy Birthday!!!!" They shouted

I gasped as noticed all their presence in my apartment.

"Aww, you guys. Thank you so much" I said as I felt tears in my eyes.

My space was full of people that mattered to me. Birthday decorations everywhere I could barely notice any other thing. And on the kitchen counter, two large cakes with my name written on them. I couldn't hold the tears back

"Happy Birthday my love" My mom hugged me

"Thank you so much maa. I love you so much" I cried

"My very own Princess, now 30" My dad chuckled as he opened his arms

"Pa," I ran to him and hugged him. "Thank you so much" I laughed and cried at the same time.

"Birthday Babe. The party ain't over" Tracy said

"Yass Bish. We gon' party our ass out" Dainy added

"You guys are crazy" I laughed as I turned to them. I paused and smiled at them. "You guys are amazing. You did all of these for me?"

"Come on Nica, you mean a lot to us. You're our best friend and you've been there for us, so we thought to do a little just before your graduation" Tracy said.

"I love you guys," I said as I hugged them

"We had help though, Mom and Dad helped a lot and a few friends," Dainy said

I turned to see the others that helped and waved in appreciation to them.

"Well, what are we waiting for? It time to party!!!" Dainy gave a rodeo dance as I laughed.

Ten years with these girls has been one major and best part of my life. We could as well be known as sisters. Right from High school into college and finally the University. We've gone through several turbulences and many challenges but we survived and made our way through.

"Yeahhhhh!!!!" Tracy shouted as we finally arrived at the club

I was filled with so much joy as I watched my two friends danced their way through the entrance. I followed quickly and danced with them as we finally entered. Flowing with the beats, we danced to the rhythm of the music. The club was loud and full but all that mattered were the two most important people in front of me. I smiled and jumped as we danced more to the rhythm of the music playing.

"This is so much fun" Dainy shouted through the music

The song slowly faded as the MC of the party began to speak up.

"Alright everyone, we have in our midst someone special. Today is very good for her and courtesy of her friends, this appreciation was made for her. Let's give it up for Veronica Hans!!!" He announced as everyone shouted

That is me. Oh..my...God. I turned to my friends, they smiled at me and also cheered me.

"I can't believe you guys" I exclaimed in excitement.

"Happy birthday Nica," They said.

I was so happy and couldn't hold the tears back as I walked to the stage.

"Happy Birthday Veronica," The MC said. "Tell me, how do you feel? I'm sure this was unexpected" He added

"I feel so happy," I said as he gave me the microphone. "I....really can't express how I feel in words. They...I love you guys" I said shortly as I watched them and blinked the tears back

Everyone applauded and soon again the music began to play. Dainy and Tracy joined me on the stage as we continued to dance.

Time had passed quickly and we returned back to my apartment. I noticed the apartment opposite me which once used to be vacant, now had people living in it. I was surprised and happy at the same time. At least, I would no longer be the only one on this floor.
