Just a dash of magic

We looked through the book trying to find some clue of how to get to Nimbia. There wasn't anything about that. It was more like a field guide, than a "how to" guide. But one thing was true of all fairy species.

"Rain."

"What?"

I swallowed hard in excitement. I had never seen magic before, let alone knew it existed.

"D-do you know m-magic by any c-chance?" I asked.

"Yes."

I jumped up and down, pumping my fists in the air. Rain looked scared and Carolinia looked incredulous. Then they understood.

"You can turn us into fairies with your magic!" Carolinia said, rather happily.

"Why didn't I think of that?" Rain smacked herself in the forehead. She flew closer to us.

"Stand facing each other and hold hands." She commanded.

So we did.

"Do we close our eyes?" I asked.

"Yes. Close them and wish really hard."

We closed our eyes and squirmed giddily as we heard Rain's wings beating around us.

"Hold still. No squirming or this won't work."

We held perfectly still. It was hard though.
