Folding into the still familiar interior of Randal's car, I slid down low and closed my eyes. Luke and Zara climbed in from each side.
"Let's go home, "Randal breathed.
"What an adventure," Luke sighed.
"Unbelievable," agreed Zara.
I took a hand from each of my children, inhaling as deeply as I could.
"I'm so glad you both came. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw you. I missed you so much. How did you get here, and how did you convince them to let you come?"
Luke looked at me quizzically. The car became quiet.
"You sent us a message, Mom. You wrote a note telling us we had to come."
I opened my eyes, "What message? I didn't send a message."
"The note? You sent a note saying we needed to come through with the others," Zara explained.
"What? No, I never did that."
