For a few minutes, we were back in that moonlight forest, swaying among the fairies, just the two of us. This time my feet did not hurt, and I knew the steps well. I gave a small jump when he lifted me to spin, and the cheering crowd cleared a little to give us more room. Talon sat me down and the music faded. Our smiles, however, did not.
Talon dipped his head as I raised mine. Our lips brushed, and I pulled back in surprise. I tripped, in my panic, I threw out my hand to catch myself. An indescribable force burst forth from my body, a silver light radiated in a circle around me. I never hit the ground but found myself back on my feet. The energy knocked over a plant, a table and blew the heavy, hall doors open with a slam. The music stopped, and a few Fae jumped to close the doors.
Talon slowly lowered his arm from protecting his face and looked me steadily in the eye.
"That's some wind," Breeard roared enthusiastically as he raised an ale, and the party continued.
