4 Rank 7 Authority

5 Days Later

5 days had now passed since someone from the Shan Alliance had met Qin Shang. Honestly he was expecting someone from there, but thought that it was going to be from one of the Branches in the higher tier cities, but to his surprise it was actually someone from the Headquarters instead.

It was supposed to be someone from the Branch however, it seems that his master had pulled some strings which led to him being scouted by them. As someone who had the strength of a 3rd Rank Iron Class, at maximum, he was only given Rank 7 Authority in the Azure Dragon Region.

He didn't think too much of Rank 7 Authority when he was given of it but the person from the Shan Alliance explained that overall, there was 10 Ranks in the Azure Dragon Region which would give him certain perks when acquired. Rank 7 was something that even some Gold Ranks wouldn't have in their lifetime.

These ranks were something that wouldn't be earned with credit, but instead it was taken through merit. Slaying more and stronger beasts as they help progress humanity for example would help them earn merits.

The higher the rank, the better. It was even said that the 4 Vice-Chairman of the Shan Alliance only had Rank 2 or 3 in Authority. The 4 Regions were controlled by the 4 Vice-Chairmans of the Shan Alliance. Each of them oversee and represent the current Chairman of the Alliance which manages the Main Headquarters which was located in the middle of the 4 Regions.

Qin Shang stared at the ring that his master had given him. It was called a Prime Ring, a Prime Ring was something that only Tier 4 or higher cities used to check their own personal status and information. It was also a mark of their identity and his was only some of the special made ones to represent their social status. An example would be a heir to a company would have certain special Prime Rings along with those who are considered to be successful.

Just by knowing this, he was now even more sure that his master, Old Wu, was definitely someone who had a big identity to be able give him such a special ring. Since not only did special Prime Rings give their information, it could also be said to be like a storage ring that could store items to who knows where. He didn't know how much space he had or if anything else was special with it but, with this, it could help him prove his identity and help him get a somewhat special status that anyone else.

Qin Shang was currently sitting down, pondering what else to do. He had now achieved some strength and was currently famous in the Ba City but, he still wasn't content. The Ba City was only a Tier 5 City and was just one of many. Therefore, there was definitely many people stronger than him and could probably kill him in a flash which makes him feel uncomfortable so he had left the Ba City 3 days ago to find some other way to getting stronger other than training himself.

He was currently at the Tier 3 City of Shi'an and was headed to the Hunter Association. Qin Shang had wasted sometime deciding wether which organization to join, either the Hunter Association, Ministry of Espers or the Beast Master Organization. In the end, he chose the Hunter Association as it held both Espers and Beast Masters and if ever his talent for being and Esper and a Beast Master was discovered, then he at least wouldn't be discriminated. It was known that Espers and Beast Masters was like fire and water. They didn't like working with each other nor do they like seeing the opposite group.

He was also currently facing a problem with these two occupations. Espers below Silver Rank was nearly useless due to only those in or above the rank only had the capabilities of using and manipulating elements. Though it was somewhat painful to know that, Qin Shang wasn't that mindful at all. Espers were known for their great Offense, Defense, and mental capability even with the power below silver rank.

As for Beast Masters, they weren't much of a pain as Espers were. The only problem was that mutated monsters the same level or above their level was hard to catch. After all, there was a big difference with being a genetically changed human and a mutated monster. Monsters had stronger, better, and more powerful bodies that humans making it harder for them to fight monsters on the same rank. Unless you were someone with great combat prowess, then it would be hard soloing a monster the same rank or above of you. As for catching them, a mutated monster could only be caught when they are injured or when under a negative status rendering them weak. A person also needed a large mental capacity to catch a monster, same rank or higher.

There was in fact something that Espers needed from Beast Masters and the same goes for them. What Beast Masters needed the most was the mental capacity of an Esper which could help catch monsters stronger than them easily. As for Espers, they needed the special ability of Beast Masters called "Tranfiguration" which would make the Beast Masters borrow the strength of their own beasts and use their skills or power for their own. Some could even transform into a humanoid version of the monster they had used Transfiguration with.

But it was still a problem for Qin Shang. Though he could become those, he was still below a silver rank and was also clueless about mutated beasts. He was still in the lowest rank of ranks in terms of power in the Alliance and even defeating a mutated beast of the same rank was still hard for him. Heck, he didn't even know where to find a mutated beast the same rank as him. If he wanders of somewhere and encounters those stronger, then it would be the end of the road for him.

He shook his head as he sighed. He had the talent but not the capability and the skills of a real genius. Even his master didn't help him besides the time with the Alliance. Qin Shang stood up and left the hotel he was currently staying at. He was pretty respected there for the Rank 7 authority he had. He could claim 300 thousand credits every month and it was enough to pay for a nice and cozy hotel after all.

As Qin Shang walked outside the door of the hotel, every attention was pointed towards him. It was inevitable with his looks since even his skin looked so supple that even a beauty amongst beautiful women couldn't compare to his, his black and silky hair along with his sharp eyebrows which could pierce the heavens. If it wasn't for his hair and body, then he might have been mistakened as a celestial beauty from the heavens. Yes, it was that exaggerated.

Therefore, men had envy in their hearts as their intestines turned green with jealousy, while women stared at him with wide open mouths with drool coming out. As for Qin Shang, he didn't have enough time to linger around as he directly left the premises and headed to the branch of the Hunter Association in the city.

Arriving at the Association, Qin Shang was once again a head turner as he walked towards the reception center. He greeted the woman behind the reception desk as he smiled. "Hello, I am Qin Shang and I'd like to become a hunter."

The receptionist was a lazy woman who occasionally ignored people who came to apply to becoming a hunter, but hearing the charming voice beside her, she instinctively turned her head around and saw Qin Shang smiling as her heartbeat accelerated at the sight of his charming smile.

Looking at the woman's look on her face, Qin Shang smiled wryly as he knew what was going on so he coughed as the receptionist broke out of her trance.

"Ah! Yes of course!"

She then quickly asked Qin Shang to sign some papers and asked him to hold out his prime ring as she caught sight of the mark in it. Normal people's prime rings had only the mark of the Alliance which was the four Divine Beasts itself which each one was the mark of the 4 Regions while special people with big backgrounds had different kinds. Seeing Qin Shang's domineering and beautiful crown shaped prime ring, she sighed in her heart.

Truly an unreachable man to have such background!

However, if Qin Shang found out what her thoughts were, then he would have laughed already. Big backround? Though he knew his master was someone special, he didn't even know who his master really was.

After his new identity as a person of the Hunter Association was installed, he directly went into the mission section of the Association. There he could earn merit points or alliance credits and maybe even rare things to help him get stronger.

Missions was usually classified into 5 stars.

Each star represents a rank meaning that iron ranks was 1 star, bronze ranks were 2 stars and so on. Missions were usually defeating mutated monsters or subduing criminals like people from the Church of Light.

There was many missions posted however, which was even too hard for him. After sometime of searching, he had finally found a good one for him. It was a mission about investigating a mass murder of about 6 people in a nearby town. It was classified a 1 star therefore it couldn't be possibly that hard though rewards was pretty low. 8 thousand credits as a reward with 40 merit points.

He really didn't know what merit points could be used besides getting higher ranks. But he still took the mission in since he felt pretty bad for the people from the towns. Towns were ranked lower than Tier 5 cities and usually attacked by monsters for lack of defenses. Though Tier 5 cities was the lowest of cities, towns would not still be able to match it with either strength, defense and resources.

He signed up for the mission using his prime ring and left the Association leaving behind the stares looking at him earlier.

The town he was headed to wasn't far from Shi'an either. After some hours of traveling, he had finally arrived.
