The Eclipse Syndicate.

"That is that. Your instructor here wants to talk to you about something. It is very important and can make you as cool as me." Lord Arkonius said while winking at them. He took a seat beside his best friend, Lord Greg and they set off playing a game of chess on their phones.

Captain Liam who had been silent the whole time suddenly stood up and walked towards the kids. In his hands, he held a black pair of headphones with blue runes on the handle and small scanning device. What they were for, they were yet to find out.

He first approached Dillian and handed him the headphones and sat in front of them.

"Put that on. You aren't feeling any effects of your element because Lord Arkonius has isolated this place from the outside otherwise, you would be bleeding by now." He said to Dillian who quickly wore it. 

"Now the main event. I'm tasked with taking care of this year's batch along with Professor Reindolf, Captain Lola and Lieutenant Victor. So, from now till you leave the academy, you will be in my care. That leads to the next part, which is your assessments, your awakening assessments. I will measure your affinity ratings. As you know already, affinity ratings range from F-SSS, and they determine your potential and somehow your future. I know for sure that none of you will have an affinity rating below A, not when you caused all those commotions there. Dillian don't take the headphones off until you can control your abilities. Wear this for now. A new and proper one would be given to you later. With that said, let's get on with the measurements. Kaiden will be last because of your dual elemental bearing. Let's start with Bradley." Captain Liam said while winking at the fatty.

"You awakened the same element as mine so it will be strong." He said as he pointed the device at Bradley. A green, laser shot from the device onto Bradley forehead. "Try to channel power or use your element. Don't be scared."

Bradley did as he was told with a bit of difficulty, but he still succeeded. His aura surged, becoming mysterious yet malicious as Bradley's started glowing a variety of colors. The device made a ding sound and Captain Liam stopped him. He stared on the screen of the device with a satisfied smile. He then moved to Belthrox. With Belthrox, using his element caused the red strands of hair in his hair to connect and "dye" his hair red like flames. His aura was regal yet commanding and warm. The next was Dillian. The scales on his neck glowed with a faint blue light as literal waves rippled through his aura. The next was Greg. The leaves tattoo around his hand glowed and extended till it reached his right cheek. His aura domineering yet gentle like an ancient tree. Next up was Echo. It seemed that his "scorching" had left a few "traumas" on his body. His already blonde hair had turned a bit golden but by using his power, it turned golden with sparks of gold lightning running around them. That wasn't all. On the back of his hands, from his fingers to his elbow were covered in black lightning shaped tattoos which also glowed with golden light and crackled when he used his powers. April came next with glowing beast-like eyes and a chilly aura. Last up was Kaiden with his dual elements. 

Using his power caused his hair to split into two sides of black and white. His eyes glowed with power as a projection of a black wing and a white wing appeared behind him. He released a suffocating aura which no one could identify. It was like a combination of all the presences they felt before plus both negative and positive emotions. 

"Err... can you use one element at a time? The device can't measure your ratings well." Captain Liam said to Kaiden. Kaiden smiled awkwardly as he concentrated on one element to use. He first chose the Light element which he was familiar with then used it. His previous mismatched hair color took on a white color, then gold with white tips. A dull glow of golden light surrounded him while a halo appeared above him. His aura was holy and gentle and almost, healing. Captain Liam and the rest were shocked of his new transformation, but they recovered quickly. After measuring, he told him to switch to shadow. This one took a bit longer, but he managed to do it. His hair once again changed colors making them question if really awakened Light and Shadow instead of Illusions. His hair turned black with violet tips. A black halo appeared above him while his aura turned dark and oppressive. Captain Liam wiped a cold sweat after he finished measuring Kaiden's.

"Good!" He exclaimed causing them took look at him with confused expressions. "The results are excellent, but I can't tell you. They will be announced tomorrow after the orientation."

""Okay!""

"Now this brings us to the last agenda. I'm sure some of you know my relationship with the headmaster. He is my master and teacher, and he has tasked me with creating a special force team."

"But aren't there already special forces where you are already in one?" Bradley asked.

"Yes, but I will resign from there. This special force team would be the special of the special. I will be the leader, having a rank equivalent to a General or Supreme Commander. Of course, it wouldn't be that easy as we will have to work our way up and by that, I mean the main motive of this special task force. The reason why I'm telling you guys this is because, you are the most talented of your batch and it will be nice if you are in this team. The second is that the requirements for joining are a bit harsh but as special students I will tell you. The first is that your rating shouldn't be lower than B rank, you must be a newly awakened and that is a first year so essentially, no upper year group would be allowed. The next one is that this team has only 13 slots available with different positions and roles. This means, there will be competition for one of the 13 slots. Each slot is equivalent to the rank of a general, colonel or lieutenant colonel depending on the slot you get. As for how you will achieve this rank, you will know when you join. Of course, you are the only people who know this information so keep it to yourself. The name of the team is the Eclipse Syndicate. I'm personally inviting you join. There will be tests to assess you and all but if you don't want, you can stop."

"..."

"I guess this is too much to take in, but you have time to think about this. At most there is about 3 to 4 days left before you start official classes. So, think about it. And it is also being endorsed by the headmaster himself. Think about it." Captain Liam said as he excused himself with a clearly satisfied and happy expression on her face.

This left the kids wondering what this was all that was about while the adults just continued playing chess with the occasional outburst of Lord Arkonius.
