Chapter 33

"Oh my," Jon exclaimed. "It's been such a long time, and I can still hear her screams in my ears." He took a long breath.

"Why, I can feel her pain right in my nerves, everything she had been through." Mark added. They all stood right, staring at the wall. "Are you brave enough to go through these my lord?"

"Why are you giving me second thoughts?" Simon pried, as he turned to face them.

"Because, she used one spell that no one ever did before." Jon explained. "And its more than just powerful, my lord."

"She ensured that no one should be able to break through." Mark explained again seeming sure and certain. "The EVERTA SIBAS Spell, are you familiar with that spell my lord?"

"The what?"Yiana blinked twice and nodded. "That is the first time I'm hearing that."

"I doubted that as well." Mark raised his hand up into the sky and repeated, "Avartovixinsiano." And hundreds of green lights floated around them. "Now, I need all of you to concentrate and let the light of the eye outside you." They all do what he said. A moment later a blue shimmer started to surround Yiana, and fire yellow around Simon, while a red around Jon.

The light of their powers jiggled a few more times around them, before it rose into the sky and finally blow on the wall. At the very precise moment, a navy blue and ice rose off the wall and in the formed of a human figured it, screamed. It sent back their powers back to them, letting them, finally hit the ground and fell hopeless. A loud wind blew across the land and an icy air invaded the surrounding.

"Oh, that answers our dilemma. No one can enter." Yiana, helped herself up and ran to Simon to help him.

"Why you did that for?"  The light of the eye was a part of them, and their soul, when they used it; they practically used up their own energy. And it gave them, pain and they were exhausted.

"My lord the princess used a rare spell to protect the castle, after she froze herself, with it." Mark explained. He walked closer to the wall. "I used the light of eye, to confirmed the circumstances if it were us trying to break into. The spell still is here. Watching over."

"What do you mean watching over? Its alive?" Yiana pointed out, looking at the way the wall grew higher and the ice thicker. It rose again longer and stronger, it would seem, his eyes still fixed on them, it growled and tapped his feet once on the ground. "I never saw that spell before."

"Of course you haven't, it's because no one performed it. It's one magic that gives the Ngami civilization one point from us." Jon agreed. "To perform that spell, one has to sacrifice the life of himself or the person he loved most and used his soul. The magic binds his soul to the spell and protect the magic forever. And his material parts that are his bones becomes the subject of the spell and make it stronger acting as a guard."

"What? That's absurd."

"That is why ,no one has taught that magic to anyone." Mark frowned. "But she did it, and she was cursed by the lord himself, for this spell consists of sacrifice and a sin."

"Is there no end to that magic?"

"Sure there is. One sacrifice to end up another sacrifice."

"You mean to say to pass through one must sacrifice himself?" Simon understood.

"Not anyone I'm afraid. One who is partially related to the blood line of the one that had been scarified." Mark sighed.

"Then who?"

"We don't know." Mark nodded hopelessly.

"Oh come on, there must be another way inside. What about what I suggested?"

" Prince Simon I sent your light of eye as well, and it rebounded back, so there is no way inside it."

"So we can't stop the spell and we can't stop the portal from reaching our land?" Yiana, asked her eyes, teary and worried.

"Looks like we all lose."

"I should try to speak with my mother." Yiana added, "if it's our last time on this land, I better tries to talk to her and asked for forgiveness. For every pain I gave her."

"Maybe you should." Jon talked this time, with a sad air and disappointed tone. The portal started to roll on itself. "Our doom has started."

"I'm afraid that even the human world won't be our backup plan this time, because the portal had been formed into the Bermuda triangle and it is engulfing everything on its way, including the island." Simon confirmed.

"Why so much despair in here?" Jamie said as they entered. They looked exhausted and somehow happy as well. They all stared at each other with disappointed eyes.

"Looks like your wish has come true, after all Mark." Jon added. "What?Wasn't it your wish that you die with the one you hold dear to your life? Well you're served, Jack is here."

"I never said that."

"But you did think of it?" Jack smiled and hugged the latter. Mark annoyingly pushed him away.

"Fine, I missed you as well."

"Alex, what are you doing here?" Simon said as soon as he stepped away from Yiana. "And where is Amy?"Yiana could tell that he was embarrassed that he was holding the hand of his brother's fiancée. Maybe he will be needing some more time to cope with the fact that she is his now. Or the fact that she always belonged to him.

"Actually we are looking for her." Ian interrupted.  "And we were hoping that she is here. Because we followed the ice."

"Followed the ice?"

"Yeah, the genius plans of our dear lord of battle that almost cost us our lives twice." Ian annoyingly nodded, "and where it brought us, to that wall that no one can enter."

"What all this is about?" Simon unexpectedly lost control of himself and pushed Alex down on the icy ground. "You were supposed to be helping her. And she is lost?"
