5 YOU ARE ALL PREDICTABLE

Nobody spoke until the butler served tea. Bringing the teacup closer to his nose, Xie Yijun sniffed the drink. "Why? Do you think I will poison you?" His grandfather snorted.

Sipping the tea, Xie Yijun retorted, "Tastes normal. Oldman, if you drink tea every day, then grandmother won't be so worried about you. But if you really want to expedite your death, you can go on." Xie Yijun smiled.

"You fool! I told you many times to address me, grandpa!" Old Master Xie bellowed. His voice was ten decibels higher. Old Madam Ning shook her head, watching the two. She wondered when would the two make peace. It was already normal for them to see the two throw nasty words at each other.

"You should consider settling down." His grandmother informed the purpose of calling him. Old Madam Ning was worried that if they wouldn't intervene, Xie Yijun wouldn't even consider tying himself down. He kept himself tied up to expanding his empire.

The three grandchildren passed looks. His cousin pressed his lips together. Meaning he didn't want him to be the one who would stop their grandmother. His sister was the same. Xie Yijun was left alone to deal with the long talks on the importance of marriage, which they heard a hundred times ever since they were born.

"Give him the file." Old Madam Ning reminded her husband. Old Master Xie signaled the butler. The butler handed a folder to Xie Yijun. At the same time, Old Master Xie spoke, "Your grandmother made a list of suitable partners for you. Pick anyone on the list and go to the marriage bureau to register your marriage."

Xie Yijun wouldn't spare a glance at the folder's content, but out of respect, he reached for it and set it aside. "What happened to the family tradition?" The Xie Family believed in the sanctity of marriage. They were encouraged to marry the person they loved. Unlike most affluent families who would lean on commercial marriage to expand, the Xie Family would not. Marriage and business were a separate entity. Even divorce wasn't allowed in the family. This was a rule set by their forefathers and the family members adhere to it for centuries.

"If we keep waiting till you fall in love, I will be dead before seeing my great-grandchildren!"

"Oldman, you already have a great-grandchild. Be content with it." His cousin has a 4-year-old daughter everyone doted upon. "And if you want more, ask these two to get married too." He pointed to his sister and cousin.

His sister's eyes widened. Then, complained, "Brother, why are you passing the ball on us? How can I settle down when my older brother hasn't gotten married yet?" As soon as she uttered these, his cousin chimed in, "Exactly!"

Xie Yijun shot them both, a warning look. The two understood immediately and closed their mouths, afraid to get on Xie Yijun's bad side. His temper wasn't something to be taken lightly.

Xie Yijun went on to suggest, "And if you aren't satisfied, adoption is another possibility."

"You want to raise other people's children to become the heir? My great ancestors must be turning on their graves!" Old Master Xie was angry. His grandson continually disregarded their wishes. He turned to his wife. "See, I told you. This unfilial boy will never consider our feelings. We are wasting our energy on him. If I were you, I would throw him in the ocean to be eaten by sharks –no even the sharks will be repulsive by the nastiness of his blood!"

"Stop yelling! We are not deaf. We can hear you." Old Madam Ning warned her husband. That's why their grandson never listened to him because he was always roaring like a woman on a red day.

This time, the other two grandchildren laughed. They knew why their grandfather was acting out. It was because he wanted attention from Xie Yijun. But, Xie Yijun had always been indifferent to him. Xie Yijun's sister hooked her hand on their grandfather's arm and placated him. "Don't worry, grandpa. I'll make sure my older brother will look at it. Right, brother?"

Xie Yijun's brows raised, knowing her intention. Xie Lina was placating the old man for a reason. She wanted him to owe her a favor, and a favor meant repayment. If he remembered correctly, her credit card was overdraft this month. Because his mother needed to curb his sister's spending habits, she set a certain amount for Xie Lina to use every month. A smirk rose his lips as he stared at her. Xie Lina felt the brother's gaze and instantly knew she failed to accomplish what she desired.

He must put an end to this marriage talk. Pocketing his hands, Xie Yijun felt the earring inside, and after momentarily immersed by her memory, he said, "Actually, I already have a girlfriend."

Eyes widening, his grandmother nearly dropped the teacup in her hand with his announcement. Even his sister was surprised. "Really?" Both asked in unison. When Xie Yijun nodded, they asked, "From which family? What's her name?" The two simultaneously asked the question without breathing.

Xie Yijun laughed at their reactions. "Well, I don't know her name yet." He had her name, but it wasn't her real one. "What?!" The reactions on their faces were funny. "How could she be your girlfriend then?" His sister asked, feeling disappointed. For a second, Xie Lina hoped that her brother, who turned iceberg, had finally returned to his old self.

"Simple, she's already embedded in my heart." He murmured. A smile slowly tugged at the corner of his lips.

Standing, he lifted the file that was going directly to the bin once he was out of the room. "I still have things at the company." He asked to be excused from his grandmother. Old Madam Ning nodded. She meant to pump more information about the girlfriend but held herself. As long as he had someone he likes, Old Madam Ning would be at ease. She knew better than forcing her grandson.

Xie Yijun turned to his sister and cousin. "Watch over the old man. Make sure he won't drink poison this time." Then he walked to the door.

However, he paused in the middle of the room and warned them over his shoulders, "Don't even think of investigating it." Xie Yijun was aware that they would send their people to figure out who the woman was.

"How did you know?" His grandfather shot back.

Xie Yijun smirked. "All of you are too predictable."

"...."
