Chapter Six: Peace: Seperation

There was barely any warning. Barely any signal. Just those stupid trumpets and they only warned us a second before the attacks began. Our empire was being attacked because of an event. The guards couldn't protect us because it was a welcoming. To see every empire and see which was weak, which was strong. Which needed a stronger leader and which needed more allies. To protect each other from this. An attack from an empire we might have not seen. Might have developed over our ignorance. So we could protect each other, each family, heir and lives.

Every life mattered despite us having taken so many. There was always a sacrifice. It also had to be the day I met my mate. I sensed him before I saw him, was lured by his scent before his eyes and now his eyes...were the very thing that would keep me up at night. Guerra. 6ft, extremely well built, dark brown eyes, so handsome. Yet so dangerous. I had felt what he felt. The pull to each other. I refused to look at him because I knew it would damage us both. He would kill me but I wouldn't go down without a fight.

Due to the attack though I was dragged out by my brother for safety. Dad always said, 'the day will come when trouble comes knocking, when revenge will not be able to sit still anymore. Where nothing will quench the thirst of it. We should disappear and when time comes. Fight for your empire. Your people. Your future. Your life.' So he stayed with the rest of the army, with mother for she refused to leave and now we were forced to run. Due to us being the only heir.

"Run. Armani!" Robert said as he tugged at my hand, pulling and willing me to go faster. His scared. I could see it. He was afraid to lose me, afraid to die before anything.

"I can't! These goddamn heels!" I cried out as I stopped to throw them off. As soon as I did that we could hear guns being fired. Screams and sounds of steps. Roberts eyes grew as he hurried to me and carried me. He pushed himself despite my added weight. I couldn't make myself lighter, there wasn't a way but he still went on. The steps behind us grew louder and closer. A siren sounded out and we both knew what that meant.

A cry wanted to escape my lips but that would give away the direction we were running in. the pain within my chest began to grow and tears surfaced. Something wet fell unto my forehead and I looked up to see rain. It was about to rain but not just that. Tears had begun to stream down Roberts face as his face turned beat red and he sprinted even faster if that was even possibly. We both felt the pain. a shot rang out from behind and Rob fell forward. I rolled away as soon as he dropped me. I cried out as my head hit a rock tried to lean away from it, only causing me to roll down a hill.

"Rob..." I coughed out as my sight was too blurred. My fingernails were dirty as I dragged myself forward. trying to find my brothers body.

"Rob." I said again as tears begun to fall, I couldn't see and my body hurt. I felt drowsy, nauseas, weak and in pain.

I heard footsteps and my ears perked up. I instantly stopped dragging myself and listened.

"Who did you shoot, Dunkin?" a man asked.

"I don't know... I just saw people running then when got away then he was the only one. Damn! I hope it isn't our own." The man freaked.

"You better hope so or the King will have our head. You know we need everyone alive." His friend replied.

"I- don't know...I know-"

"Shut up Dun! Let's just go before they start asking where we went to, I don't want any trouble from our watchers." I heard.

I heard their steps retract as they left, but I still couldn't see... my body hurt to move but I need to find my brother. Dragging myself forward I couldn't help but want to sob. I was tired of being strong and if that meant dying right here and now I don't think I'd mind. All I needed to do was close my eyes...
