“What are you doing here, other than breaking into my personal space, again?” I asked. I dropped my bag on the counter and crossed my arms.

Slowly, Loki turned to face me. His lips were a thin, tight line, eyes empty, black holes. I couldn’t read his expression at all, but if I had to guess, I’d say he was angry.

“What are you doing here?” he asked, arching an eyebrow at me.

I sighed and went to the refrigerator for a bottle of water. I offered Loki a bottle, but he held a hand up and shook his head.

“My parents wanted to bring me here when I was a girl. I wanted to know why,” I said, shrugging one shoulder. I sipped my water and screwed the cap back on.

Loki continued to stand by my window, hidden in the shadows. Every time a car sped by, the lights flickered in the window, lighting him up for a brief moment. He kept standing still but his eyes followed everywhere.
