“We don’t have anything more to talk about,” I argued. “This is business, nothing more.” I pulled my arm from his grasp.

“Maybe for you, but the world doesn’t revolve around you, Gen, and I have something I want to say,” Loki said firmly.

He motioned to two comfy chairs he had in a corner of his office. There was a table with a decanter of whiskey between the chairs. Loki took a seat and nodded to the adjacent chair.

I crossed my arms and glared at the empty chair. The moment I sat down, he’d be between me and the door. I’d lose all ability to escape.

I glanced between the door and the chair a few more times before sighing and sitting down heavily.

Loki grinned and poured himself a glass of whiskey. “Would you like one?” he asked.

I shook my head. “Just talk. I have other things I’d rather be doing,” I said.
