Autumn starts her day by jumping out of bed in a panic, fearing she slept through the alarm. In reality, she awoke ten minutes before it was set to go off. She turns it off and decides to jump in a quick shower since she’s already wide awake. After gathering her clothes for the day, Autumn slips into the bathroom without waking up Blake.
The hot water feels amazing as she rinses off. The day ahead feels daunting, and she just wants to get it over with and move on with her life. Being with Blake last night had assured her of one thing, she can’t move on without him. But she’s still trying to figure out how to juggle her career and being with the man she loves.
As it turns out, Blake is the part of her she never knew she was missing. Autumn doesn’t know if it’s the mate bond, or something else, but she wants to be with him no matter what.
She’s still thinking about him when there’s a knock at the bathroom door.
“Are you decent?” Blake asks from the other side.
