Mayor's Daughter Birthday Party

Axel and Annalise's car had arrived at the building where the party was being held. Axel goes down first, am then opening the door for Anna.

With Anna's handheld by Axel, Anna descended so gracefully. Axel gave his car keys to the person in charge of bringing his car into the basement.

Axel led Anna to the ballroom entrance.

"Hi, Anna."

Someone suddenly came near them always greeting Anna.

"Oh, Manager Edward, you're here too?" Anna asked slightly surprised by Edward's presence.

"Of course, I can't just leave you alone with a boring person like this." Show Edward to a person who is still handsome by the hand of Anna.

"No need to say much, you should be thanking me." Axel showed a sharp glance.

"I told him to come, Anna, you don't mind, do you?"

Anna nodded slowly. "Of course, it will be more fun."

"Let's go inside, more and more people are arriving." Invite Axel.

The three of them entered together, Anna walking halfway between Edward and Axel.

As soon as the three of them entered, all eyes were on them, as if they were a sight not to be missed.

Who doesn't know Axel Elard, the capital director of the Emperor Group Company which has recently grown rapidly?

Then everyone knew that Anna and Edward were Axel's confidants. and their fairness seems to be something that the host and every guest look forward to the most.

They entered and immediately fulfilled their purpose, they immediately approached the mayor who looked so busy welcoming the guests.

"Good evening, Lord Mayor." Greet Axel politely. Alex shook the mayor's hand.

"Oh, Young Master Elard, I am fortunate to have managed to make you comply with my invitation. Thank you for taking your time to come to the party tonight."

"You look up too highly of me, Lord Mayor. I am fortunate to have received an invitation from you."

"Hahaha…" The mayor laughed.

"Then please enjoy this party, hopefully, it won't be too boring." said the mayor, Henry Zheng.

"Thank you. This will be fun."

"Then sorry that I have to welcome the other guests."

"Very well, Mr. Zheng."

"Miss Grace, Mr. Walker, thank you for coming," Henry Zheng said before leaving.

"No big deal, Mr. Zheng."

Tonight's party has started. The candle-blowing event has been going on for some time. Anna, Axel, and Edward come over to the main character of tonight's party, Princess Chloe.

"Happy birthday, Princess Chloe, we have come to wish you all the best," Anna said representing the two men standing beside her. Anna was the spokesperson this time because it would be easier to talk between women.

"Thank you for coming, and thank you for praying for me, Miss Grace."

"This is a small gift for you. I hope you will accept it, Miss Chloe."

"Thank you, of course, I am very grateful and lucky to get this gift." Chloe received a not-too-big red box.

"Looks like you'll have to meet the other guests, then we'll excuse me for a drink." Goodbye Anna.

"Thank you again, Miss Grace, Young Master Elard, and Mr. Walker. Thank you for coming. Hope you all enjoyed the party."

Anna, Axel, and Edward sat down at one of the tables after they took their drinks. Anna took a cocktail and Axel chose to drink soda. Only Edward took a glass of wine. He's the one who can drink the most.

Chloe comes to Axel when the dance starts. "Young master Elard. Would you mind accompanying me on the dance floor? I would be very happy if you said yes." Chloe demanded, sounding pushy.

Anna and Axel looked at each other for a while, Anna gave him a code to agree to the invitation.

Axel sighed before standing up and replying, "Of course, I can't refuse a beautiful woman like you, Miss." Axel reached out, Chole blushed as he gave his hand for Axel to hold.

Soon they were on the available dance floor, gathered together with several pairs moving to the beat of the music playing.

"Will you dance with me, Anna?" Edward asked.

"Not!" Reject Anna quickly.

"Are you refusing me to be your dance partner or are you refusing to dance?" Edward asked leaning forward.

"Both."

"Come on, Anna. It would be boring just sitting like this. You want to be just a spectator?" Edward complained as usual.

"Shut up, Ed. If you want you can dance and find another partner. Don't push me!"

"Ah, if only I was chosen by Chole as his partner, it would be better than just sitting here."

"The truth is you weren't the chosen one. Stop complaining, Ed."

"Never mind. I'll go get another drink."

"Go get as much as you want."

It had been fifteen minutes since Edward had been gone. Anna sat alone while opening her cellphone to reduce boredom.

"Go get a drink does it take so much time? Tch, at most he seduced a beautiful woman then took her to the room." Anna grumbled because Edward didn't come back.

Anna didn't want to bother, she went back to playing with her cellphone.

"Hi, Miss, are you alone?" Someone came to greet Anna.

"No, my partner is out to get a drink." Reply to Anna. She was well aware of the current situation. It must be a man who wants to annoy women and invite women into a room.

"Oh yeah? I noticed you've been alone ever since." The man said. It seemed he had been watching Anna for the past few minutes.

"Yeah, he's been gone too long. Looks like I'll have to go look for him." Anna said still trying to be polite.

"That doesn't seem necessary, Anna. I'll accompany you here." The man blocked Anna's movement.

Why does this man know his name?

Anna started to think something bad. It was true that Anna was quite famous in business circles with Grace, not Anna.

"Sorry, Sir, please step back. I really have to go."

"Where are you going?" The man was still holding Anna back. Anna looked around trying to find a way to leave, but unfortunately, her eyes found someone holding a gun hiding behind a wall. The gun was aimed at Axel.

Whether it was directed at Axel or perhaps the mayor's daughter, one thing was for sure they were in danger.

'Unlucky!' Anna cursed in her heart. She swallowed hard.

Anna always carries a liquid that will come in handy in an emergency. Then with a quick movement, Anna grabbed the small bottle filled with the liquid to spray at the eyes of the man who was blocking her.

"Ah!" The man took a few steps back while holding his sore eyes.

Getting that opportunity Anna hit the man's crotch with her knee. The man fell in pain. Anna used the opportunity to leave first.

After feeling safe enough Anna pressed the number two on her cell phone, a quick dial to call Edward.

"Shit! What's he doing? If I knew he was having fun then I'd beat him up later." Anna grumbled because Edward couldn't be reached.

Anna had to contact Axel. Because Anna wasn't sure she could face the shooter alone.

From a distance, Anna watched Axel's movement as he started pressing the watch on his hand to connect the call.

"Get out of there right away. Someone's after you or maybe Chloe." Anna said quickly.

Axel caught the signal well. He immediately disconnected the phone so as not to invite the attention of people who were after him.

"Princess Chole, we better get out of here," Axel said in as normal a voice as possible so as not to scare Chole.

"What is it?"

"I can't explain now. You protect yourself first." Axel said in a firm and undeniable tone.

The mayor's daughter Chole nodded in understanding

"I understand."
