ALEX

"We can always run away again. I have the money this time."

She forces a smile.

"Maybe just..." Corey shrugs as he walks around, "...do one main interview. Each tells an abridged version of your side and be done with it. If you address it quickly, then they won't have to chase you down for it."

Not a bad idea.

"Interview?" Autumn asks.

"It'd just be one," Corey says, quickly looking away. "Hopefully."

She shakes her head, unwilling to budge as she looks at me. "No. No, I don't want to be interviewed. Especially about you."

"We may have to."

"What?" She glances at Savvy, and then back at me. "Can't you just...tell them you ended it with Anya? That's it?"

"They're going to want to know why."

"Say you wanted to. Don't even mention A.M.S."

"They'll know. Everyone at the restaurant heard."

"Then just...say you found A.M.S. They don't need to know anything else."
