Twenty Three

Trisha's POV.

What can I say! Is it that we literally have nothing or that we lost love one more time, or at least what we thought was love.

After Dad died, mom…

We were more than broken, he was our everything, I adored this man, and I wanted to be so much like him, but when the car crash happened, we were more than spooked.

It was certainly more than loss for us!

Mom lost a lot of weight, she didnt talk or at least form coherent sentences during the period, she had nightmares, and the look in her eyes!!

It wasn't something I always wanted to see, I felt powerless because I couldn't do anything, nothing at all.

She never wanted to talk or eat or do anything, the man was her soulmate, but he left the world, there was nothing even she could do about it!

But then, Dave came into the picture, or he was always in the picture, we just never really took note of him. He was dad's colleague at work, he would usually come home for dinner, or we would see him at the hospital when we went to pick up dad.

He was there for mom when I felt helpless, he talked to her, comforting her and drawing her out of the self pity she had drowned herself in.

Soon, mom had more color to her face, she smiled more, she cleaned the house more and she was finally past dad's death.

Even if she would never forget the memory that she had a loving husband who left the world abruptly, she accepted the fact.

She moved on, all thanks to Dave , forming a romantic relationship with him by the way,it wasn't rocket science so it wasnt hard to figure out.

They seemed to love each other…

The thought made me happy because mom was happy.

Dave was a divorced man who had his daughter in his custody, apparently, his ex wife was a drunk, she wasn't fit to take care of a child.

In my opinion, Adriana was a lovely girl, we were about the same age and our parents had a romantic relationship. Because of that we saw each other often, but I knew she didn't take a liking to me.

It just got blatantly obvious one time when she lied, she accused me of breaking a plate when I didn't even enter the kitchen.

Since that time I just decided to tolerate her because my mom was happy.

Dave and mom soon got married, serving us dog food every minute they could.

Up until this moment, I thought he loved mom, I really thought he genuinely loved mom.

That conniving snake!!

As aunt Barbara and mom shared the details of the whole thing, I was beyond pissed.

One thing was for certain, I wasn't going to let things go.

He even ran like the coward like he his.

Mom must be feeling terrible, she…

I was snapped out of my thoughts when mom and Elle walked back in.

It looked like they walked aunt Barbara out!

I glanced back to mom who was calling me, "hey!", She said, her voice breaking!

I wrapped her in a hug, completely taking her off guard, she soon broke into another round of tears, earning multiple paths on the back by Elle.

"What are we going to do!?", Mom asked, her voice muffled as she was still in my embrace, crying!

"I promise mom, I'll bring back everything, everything that he has taken from us, his happiness won't last long!!",

"How about you come over to my house, there's a lot of room, I'm more than willing, and I'm sure my parents won't mind!", Elle suggested.
