Chapter 12

Minute after minute passed as Harry wailed over the corpse of Petunia.

As time passed it almost seemed like Harry was destined to continue the wailing until morning, the emotions going through Harry's young mind causing chaos and havoc.

This changed however when Harry felt a warming feeling breath over him, it was not unlike the same breeze that knocked the Enforcer over before, but this time it was comforting.

As Harry's crying finally simmered down to that of sniffling and whimpering, he took note of the breeze of comfort. It was a reminiscent of what he felt whenever he did magic, but instead of from within it feels like someone else hugging him consoling him.

He reflected on the feeling, taking in the feeling that so much so reminded him of Petunia's hugs.

He reflected further feeling an even deeper connection to the feeling, like he's felt something similar in the past.

The flash of black and crimson red fly through his mind, along with words he barely remembered, the screaming for him to be spared, a flash of green, and searing pain.

This brings back the spiral of negative emotions, bringing back his full attention to Petunia.

This time it almost seemed as if Harry was well and truly broken, with the still present yet supressed memories from so long ago pressed on top of the present dam of emotions from today pushing his young mind towards its breaking point.

The overlooking source of the breeze watches as the kid approaches this proverbial tipping point and decides to finally step in and help.

Just like a breeze, the now clearly seen woman steps onto the lone street. She has the face that would be described as divine if seen on Earth. Her light blond hair flowing still even in the lack of wind, her ears signifying her at least half non-human lineage.

The clothes she wears, while uncouth for most, reflect her clear connection to wind magic. She has alongside the revealing white colored clothing reminiscent of undergarments, she has white silk ribbons gracefully following behind her.

Silent as the wind, she makes her way to the boy and picks him up. As she picks him up, his eyes lay directly onto her. Before anything else, she places a finger onto his forehead causing his eyes to shut and him to pass out.

Carrying him away from the street in her arms the same way Petunia did, this woman made her way into the Fissure down into the Undercity.

As they walked, Harry's face still showed the volatile dam of emotions inside.

"It's okay, you are safe. You're going back to your family, soon you will be with them." Her melodic voice sounds out to calm him.

His sleeping visage lightens up.

Seeing her success, she presses on, "Picture them, Vander sitting behind the bar he so loves," the woman says with a touch of happiness. "Violet telling you all of a fight she recently won," She continues with a clear grimace showing off her distaste for violence. "Dudley will drop in along with Ekko and will show off that shield he so loves."

"And finally, Powder will ask you to sneak out with her to try out her next newly named bomb," all this finally brings Harry down to a tired, yet sincere smile.

She makes her way down, through the streets, going through like a breeze barely seen. She finally makes her way to the back door of the heart of the Underground.

She nocks on the door, which after a minute, opens to reveal a relieved looking Vander.

"I was about to go looking for you two," He spouts off without clearly looking at who was at the door.

The woman, seeing him not fully paying attention voices out with a clear pain, "Vander."

He finally looks at who was at the door realizing that it wasn't Petunia. His face switches from the relieved one to a look of shock and awe at the view of the woman's pained face.

"Janna!" He practically screams.

She shakes her head, "Not the time, here take him," she passes the sleeping Harry over.

"Wait, where is Petunia?" his voice heavy with worry.

Janna's expression grows even more pained, answering the question without the need for words.

"No…" Vander's worried face collapses, he looks down to the sleeping Harry now in his arms.

He hugs him closely, a single tear leaking out of his cloudy eyes.

"How, how did this happen?" He asks aggrieved, he receives no answer, so he looks up to find, nothing.

Janna was gone.

Vander takes Harry into the pub and drops himself and Harry onto the couch down in the back room.

He quickly falls asleep.

(SAD) [I'm not going to say if anything was going on between them, You guys choose.]

Sheriff Grayman looks down at the corpse that the graveyard shift found last night.

An Enforcer, dead. This on its own isn't that rare of a sight, Enforcer deaths do happen. Be it a drunken brawl getting too violent, a corrupt deal going bad, hell, recently a few corrupt Enforcers killed each other when they couldn't share the money, they got from embezzling the trade tax.

But this is different, one Enforcer found dead while their partner is missing the day after Progress Day is strange.

"A damn shame," came from behind her.

She turns around to find her deputy, she didn't choose him to be as such. He was made deputy due to him being Councilor Hoskel's brother-in-law and used this connection to be instilled as the deputy.

"Hmm," Grayman hums, she looks towards the man, "Any leads?"

He shakes his head, "None, whoever did this left no clear signs of injury,"

"So, we have nothing," she summarizes.

The gruff man chuffs heatedly, "maybe, but I think it's the Undercity, it always is."

"The last case you said that was done by some health and safety bureau officials when they got caught smuggling Noxian spirits," Grayman murmurs.

She was told by him and councilor Hoskel to leave that case to the deputy.

He continues on, "Well, we should thank them. They helped us by getting rid of these two."

Unknown to the deputy, she was in the know of the rumors that spread through the Enforcers and did indeed know of the rumor around these two Enforcers. As well as the knowledge that he had called the two Enforcers into his office not 3 hours before their shift.

From all the information she has, with the past corrupt history of the deputy, the knowledge of the hatred of same sex relationships, and the meeting, she just knows that the deputy killed the two Enforcers.

She let the blatant corruption be because it isn't harmful, but this was overstepping. Grayman dictated her entire life to the protection of Piltover and its people, even Undercity. That is why she made that deal with Vander a while back.

But now that this deputy believes he can get away with killing someone who's meant to be protecting this city she so loves. She will get him out of the Enforcers.

In fact, she knows of just the right man to take his spot. A young Enforcer she recently met who she thinks has potential. While yes, the boy is a bit prejudiced against Undercity and doesn't fully know how the world work, with a bit of experience he should make a good Deputy and maybe even replace her one day as Piltover's Sheriff.
