"Oh baby I'm sorry." He said, slipping his arms around Hiro's waist and pulling him into a tight warm hug, hoping to offer some comfort. "I'm really sorry. It completely skipped my mind."
"I know." Hiro sobbed, burying his face in Raiden's chest. "I'm not angry. Just sad." His voice came out muffled against Raiden's shirt but Raiden could still make out the words and the pain in them was unmistakable.
He felt a surge of self-directed anger as he watched Hiro cry. He hated seeing Hiro in pain, and it was even worse knowing that he was the cause of it. How could he have been so thoughtless? How could he have forgotten that this place once belonged to Hiro's mother? He cursed inwardly. He had to find a way to make it up to Hiro.
