(3rd's pov)
Red hadn't moved from his spot since the battle had ended, and as always, his face was a perfect poker face even though inside, he was a mess. Neither Professor Oak nor Daisy noticed Red's nervousness, but Mewtwo knew his Trainer much better, and being inside his mind was of much help in understanding the man known as Red. It was apparent for the loyal Pokemon to help his Trainer. Red may have made a lot of progress in the last 2 days, but Mewtwo knew not to push too much.
"Hahaha! You truly are full of surprises. To scare Alakazam into not even wanting to battle. I don't think something like that happened since he evolved from Abra."
"*The Alakazam just bit more than he could chew. At least he was smart enough to retreat from an unwinnable battle.*"
Mewtwo may be the most level-minded of Red's Pokemon, and his past made him detest battles for sport to some extent. Even though he would fight if Red wished for it without a second thought, he was very confident in his power. Mewtwo, of course, isn't the strongest Pokemon in the world. Maybe the most versatile but not the strongest. This title belongs to either one of the creator trio, maybe Ultra Necrozma or Eternamax Eternatus, which Red does not possess, or, if someone asked, Red's Pokemon, Godslayer, F.E.A.R, or The Mighty One. The only reason the answer isn't definitively Arceus is because the Pokemon Arceus is only a tiny part of the original Arceus that created the whole world.
Mewtwo's comment may seem arrogant, but in the end, it was simply a fact. Alakazam didn't stand a chance no matter what he did.
"I can't argue with that. Although I would like to see you in action, I can't blame anyone but myself and my Pokemon for being too weak. But enough of that, we can talk about our battle later. Both you Red, and your Pokemon must be starving."
That was true. Red, together with his team, didn't have a chance to eat this morning, and last night, they only ate some berries that Red found in his inventory.
At this moment, a new thought was born in Red's mind.
Maybe it isn't so bad meeting new people (as long as they give you free food).
---
Red had stars in his eyes as he was devouring his food quietly. It was his first real meal in a long time, but even before he went on IV nutrition, the food in the hospital wasn't of high quality.
This, however, was delicious, and Red couldn't stop himself from eating. His Pokemon weren't as into food as him, but they enjoyed their meal all the same.
Seeing the young Trainer devouring prepared dishes with such enthusiasm, Professor Oak laughed good-heartedly.
"Hahaha! Looks like with great battling skills comes a great appetite as well. I don't think I need to ask if it tastes good."
Red didn't answer, but he stopped chewing and looked at the professor with an emotionless expression.
"You can thank Daisy for this feast. After all, she was the one who made all the dishes for us and our Pokemon."
Hearing the unexpected praise, Daisy got slightly embarrassed as Red turned to her without a word.
"Grandpa! Stop!"
"*I must agree with Professor Oak. Neither I nor my teammates are used to this kind of meal, so it's a nice change of pace.*" Mewtwo commented as he levitated part of his food straight into his mouth. He was almost as hard to read as Red, but his Trainer could see that he enjoyed his food as much as he did.
This earned another laugh from the good-natured professor.
The dinner went on without any problem.
---
After getting full, the group of three humans and their Pokemon relaxed behind the laboratory, where Pokemon had a place to either lay down or roam around. At the same time, their trainers sat in comfortable chairs.
Steelix decided to look around the ranch as he wouldn't have a lot of chances to do that near the cities. Arcanine also went for a run. Suicune laid down and closed his eyes while still being aware of his surroundings, and Lopunny did the same. Mewtwo wanted to be by Red's side, and Gardevoir had the same idea while crossing her arms and giving the stinky eye to the legendary Pokemon.
As the comfortable silence continued, Professor Oak decided to start a conversation.
"Remember when we battled, I made a comment about making a decision?"
Red nodded slowly, not knowing where it was going.
"So after I utterly lost to you, I found my answer. But before that, I want to make sure. Do you plan on continuing your journey, or are you finished with it and want to settle down somewhere."
"*We plan on traveling through many different regions and seeing the wonders of this world. Does it have anything thing to do with your decision, or should I call it a favor?*"
Mewtwo was the one who answered and probed the professor for answers at the same time.
"Seen through me already? Yes, maybe a favor would be a more accurate description of what I wished to talk about." Professor turned to his granddaughter. "For some time, you have shown interest in traveling, didn't you. You wanted to see more Pokemon in their natural habitats but also see not only our but also different regions and their cultures."
Mewtwo instantly connected the dots.
"*You wish us to allow your granddaughter to travel with us.*"
That got Daisy's attention as her head whiplashed to Mewtwo, then Red, and, in the end, her grandfather.
"But Grandpa! Don't you need help around the ranch? Not to mention that Blue isn't around to help as well."
Daisy was worried. Of course, she was. Except for her little brother, Professor Oak was her only family member. She didn't count her Grandpa's cousin as they hadn't seen him in a long time. The last time they heard of him, he was in Alola, Arceus knows what he was doing.
At his granddaughter's worries, the professor waved his hand in dismiss.
"You don't need to brood over it. I'm not that old that I can't run the ranch by myself. Besides, I can always hire an assistant if needed. I don't want you to be the reason for you to be bound to one place when you have a chance to see the world like Blue did."
"But-" Daisy started, but Mewtwo interrupted her.
"*You are more cunning than I expected, professor. Seeing Red's battle prowess, you believed that the daughter of your offspring would be much safer at his side. I would advise you, however, to be more upfront with your intentions. For both your and your granddaughter's sake.*"
Professor Oak looked sheepish as his intentions were figured out, but Mewtwo wasn't done talking.
"*But at the same time, I can't reprimand you too much since your intent was to protect a part of your family. That's only natural for you to do. To answer your question, Red and I would need to discuss this with the rest of the team. I myself don't see any issues with allowing the young Daisy to travel with us. She is well-mannered and fairly attractive.*"
"A-attractive!?"
"*Hm?*" Mewtwo turned to the young woman. "*Yes. In terms of human beauty standards, you can be described as such. What do you think Red?*"
Red turned his head towards Mewtwo like a machine that hadn't been turned on in a long time. He didn't change his expression, didn't blush or anything like that. It was Red's usual expressionless face, but Mewtwo knew better.
Mewtwo's plan was to get Red outside his comfort zone. He hoped that Red would get a human friend that way. It would be healthy since humans are social animals. Some may prefer solitude, but that's a general rule. Red was alone for a long time and never had a friend in his life, so his trusty Pokemon decided to help his Trainer.
Gardevoir didn't share his intentions and tried to assault the legendary Pokemon but was stopped with Telekinesis. She managed to get close, but she wasn't strong enough to challenge Mewtwo. She obviously was against it.
Red, on the other hand, was shaking inside. It was true that he found Daisy attractive, but the only interactions he had with girls were with the nurses and his mom. He never saw a girl his age outside of the Internet, but he couldn't just admit it, so he started complaining to his Pokemon.
"*Mewtwo! What are you doing!? You know I can't even talk to her! WhatifI'lldosomethingstupidandshe'llhateme!*"
"*That's why it's a fantastic idea. From what we've seen, Daisy is a kind, understanding girl, so she is a perfect target to train. I believe that you'll be able to communicate with other human beings in no time.*"
Mewtwo encouraged Red, and for his sake, their conversation was only between themselves.
At this, Red showed a small smile. It was because he appreciated Mewtwo, but at the same time, it was because he found a way to scare Mewtwo back. Red knew that Mewtwo didn't mean anything bad, but he almost gave him a heart attack, so it would be fair to give one back.
With that said, Red took out his phone, opened the Pokemon Bank app, and started scrolling through all of his Pokemon until he stopped at #151 and stopped his finger over the icon of this Pokemon.
"*R-Red, let's not be hasty in our decisions. You know that I mean well. Besides, it wouldn't be wise to free this Pokemon. Y-you know how free cared it is.*"
This was the first instance when Mewtwo showed distress of any kind, and both Daisy and Professor Oak were curious about what Red threatened Mewtwo with. In his distress, he even undid his Telekinesis on Gardevoir.
Thankfully for the powerful psychic, Red didn't mean to do anything of the sort.
"*Don't worry, Mewtwo. I just joked and made you have a taste of your own medicine. Now we are even.*"
Red was looking very smug at the moment, but it was missed by the pair of humans as his face changed minimally.
Mewtwo calmed down after hearing that piece of information, and his shoulders relaxed significantly. The Pokemon smiled, happy that his nightmare was only a joking threat coming from his Trainer.
"*Don't scare me like that, Red. I may be a genetically created Pokemon, but I can still have a heart attack... I think. I am not aware of my anatomy as I probably should, and my creators are... out of reach, as you probably know. But the message was received. I'll try to warn you before making you a center of attention. It was insensitive of me to do so, but I have only your well-being in mind while doing these things.*"
While the pair of a Trainer and Pokemon had a heartfelt moment, Red's finger moved on its own and touched the Pokemon's icon to the shock of everyone. Then, to finalize it, it clicked again to confirm the transfer, making a Pokeball appear in front of the young Trainer. Once again, without any intent, Red's hand moved to open the Pokeball, revealing a small blue Pokemon with a big head, a long, thin tail with an ovoid tip, short arms, three-fingered paws, and large hind paws. It also had a broad snout, triangular ears, and large blue eyes.
The first thing the Pokemon did when out of Pokeball was to look around curiously and teleport around the room a few times, touching furniture nearby. After it was done, the mythical Pokemon landed on Red's head and fell asleep.
Everyone was shocked, but for different reasons. Professor Oak had eyes so wide open that it was a miracle that they didn't fall off his sockets, and Daisy was no better. Apparently, Red was in possession of a mythical Pokemon Mew. The color was wrong since all the witnesses mentioned a pink blur, but no one would mistake when they saw Mew. Shiny Pokemon are rare, but they are sometimes seen here and there. However, seeing a mythical Pokemon that is so rare it is called a mirage Pokemon by some to be shiny is probably 1 in a 1 000 000 chance if not higher.
Mewtwo was shocked and furious at the same time. On the one hand, he was glad that Mew didn't even acknowledge his existence because he didn't know if he could restrain himself from starting a fight. On the other hand, however, he was furious that Mew didn't even see him as someone to be acknowledged.
It was quickly repressed as Mewtwo's head whiplashed towards Gardevoir, who pulled the skin under her eye, stuck out her tongue, and teleported away.
The room shook at the immense power of the psychic legend.
"*I'll skin you alive and make boots out of you, Gardevoir!!!*"
Mewtwo teleported after Gardevoir, leaving Red alone, again in the center of attention.
"I... I think I'm not going to even ask." Professor Oak said, clearly too surprised to even have a reaction at this point.

(A/N Fun fact: there are two ways to obtain a legitimate shiny Mew. The first one is in Generation 2 "Gotta Catch Em All" Event on Thanksgiving 2002. It had only a 0.5% chance of occurring, but it's still a better chance than a chance of getting a regular shiny Pokemon. This Mew also started at level 5.
The other way was through Pokemon GO. There was the "Pokemon GO Mew Masterwork Research" quest, which was available for a limited time. The shiny Mew could also be purchased for a few days in July 2023.
To have shiny Mew in modern Pokemon games, you can use only the second method since you can't transfer Gen 2 Pokemon to Pokemon Home.
There is also a Mew Glitch from Gen 1, and you can manipulate the game to get a shiny Mew with this method, but it's not legitimate as far as I know.)
