Chapter 40: Sporty

(POV General)

Within a set course of three miles from the peace summit housed a floating mansion styled in a distant Chinese fashion.

At the center of the mansion was a flat asphalt layer of concrete used to train the many students that housed these walls. However, they currently had only two figures one big and large in build and the other slim and fitting hiding away her defined physique.

These two figures were both Sportsmaster and Cheshire who at the time were bickering to themselves until a familiar voice stopped them with but a sentence emitting disappointment.

"The goal was to cause distrust between Nations, not my Assassins."

The figure appeared from the shadows showing his unique hairstyle similar to that of a vampire adjacent to his sideburns and goatee. 

The man similar to Cheshire had a slim build due to the daunting clothes he wore but all the clothes did was hide the scars of war this man has constantly been a part of.

As the figure appeared Cheshire bowed sensing the presence of the supreme one and apologized for her folly of her latest mission.

"Ra's al Ghul?"

To the distance of the group of three. Roy Harper or Red Arrow was watching with his binoculars keeping track of whatever they said to each other edging each word into memory.

"Yes. You should be. But I can at the time not punish you as we have a much-unwanted guest."

Ra's soon turned his head staring at Red Arrow locking each other into a gaze catching him off guard.

Both Cheshire and Sportsmaster acted accordingly and turned their heads beginning their assault.

Cheshire was the fastest and the most agile so she had gotten to Roy first attacking him with fast and well-placed jabs with her sighs.

Roy dodged the most he could but with the added bonus of fighting both Cheshire and Sportsmaster, he was outclassed.

When one would leave an opening the other would cover a well-paced team. Odd of how they act around each other.

As they exchanged many blows between the three of them Ra's hid himself within the shadows to escape while also to witness his most top assassins kill this intruder.

As the battle continued on the rooftop Sportsmaster through a black discus where upon impact blew up taking Roy off guard which Cheshire used destroying Roy's weapon of choice.

Now it was a game of Cat and Mouse leaving Roy to the latter. Dodging was all he could do because if he couldn't the next move could be deadly.

Sportsmaster jumped backwards to gain distance lowering the onslaught and pressure of the attacks only to start throwing exploding spears meant for a Track athlete.

"Heh, kid! Why do you think they call me Sportsmaster?"

As the spear was thrown at Roy it exploded on impact taking Cheshire into the range of the attack or at least to what he thought.

"Really? I just thought it was because Sporty was taken?"

Sportsmaster was baffled because this was a new voice that didn't sound like either his opponent or daughter but that doesn't mean his guard was dropped.

From the smoke a green humanoid slowly appeared as the smoke dissipated the figure became more visible.

The image that resulted in the full disappearance of the smoke showed a green man similar to a twist between both a Grasshopper and a Praying Mantis. He has a green film connected to the tibia and tarsus of his legs. He has green skin, which has a hue of emerald, a large segmented horn on top of his head, and two smaller horns on the sides of his head where the eyes are placed. Each horn has three tiny spikes behind them. There are also three spikes on each forearm and the back of both tarsi on his legs. He has two sharp fingers, a thumb on each hand, and two light-colored claw-like toes on his feet along with one on the back. His chin is quite small with two lines, he has gill-like structures under his armpits, and his segmented neck extends from a green collar that is fused with the torso.

Sportsmaster wasn't familiar with this alien creature but because of the way it spoke reminded him of a certain shapeshifter.

"Shift?"

"Crashhopper on the scene!!"

Crashhopper not giving Sportsmaster any time to react began to squat downward as if he was about to jump.

Sportsmaster was confused but continued to keep his guard up which thanks to that judgment Sportsmaster wasn't damaged.

Crashhopper jumped at an astonishing speed putting a shame to Kid Flash at least when going in one direction. 

As Crashhopper jumped Sportsmaster used a second to blink but within that one-second Crashhopper was within punching distance or at least kicking distance.

Crashhopper used Sportsmaster as a catapult using him as leverage to jump to the nearest support beam keeping the mansion standing.

Crashhopper then jumped off the Beam towards another within each jump Crashhopper gained speed. 

Between each beam, Crashhopper would attempt an attack at Sportsmanster who in turn would either dodge, Block, or an attempt at a counter missing his mark.

As Crashhopper and Sportsmaster were fighting Roy and Cheshire were fighting hand to hand as earlier his bow was broken leaving Roy without a weapon but not defenseless. 

Both parties continued to exchange blows dealing each other punches and kicks. This stalemate continued until Cheshire knocked her sixth sense to danger and jumped backward into a backflip dodging a splash from the waves.

The Wave was actually Aqua Lad using his Atlantian magic on the sea water trying to hit Cheshire sadly to miss from her reflective instincts.

"Surrender and no one needs to get hurt!"

Aqua Lad tried to reason with both Cheshire and Sportsmaster but was ignored by the second party who focused on his opponent that jumped across the field.

Cheshire however simply joked around with both Lad and Roy.

"Aw and here I thought our third date would go without a hitch."

Roy didn't respond and neither did Lad creating a standstill. Suddenly Sportsmaster called out to Cheshire.

"Retreat."

As he said that within a second after he dropped a smoke bomb and disappeared right as Crashhopper was going to hit with a head-butt. 

Crashhopper then upon impact broke the asphalt floor going into the next level of the mansion.

"Shift!!!"

Aqua Lad was worried for his teammate and called out to him as Roy was bombed with smoke from Cheshire covering her escape.

Roy frustrated slammed his fist against the ground after recovering and looked at the hole in the floor.

"Lad, Arrow, y'all need to see this."

Crashhopper was now underground under Ra's mansion and was perturbed by what he was seeing. 

Under the mansion were machines like that from Star Wars making droids but instead seemed to make humanoid robots.

Soon both Roy and Lad ventured down finding the scene Crashhopper found. While the founder himself found a room at the end of the hall.

In this room were sets of blacked-out televisions all in a circle around the center of the room. 

And what was left in the center was an unopened letter addressed to 'Side Kicks' where inside a simple declaration was written.

"All shall see the light."
