25. Magic

(POV General)

After Tornado gave the Tower of Fate's location located in Salem.

The Team left for the ship bay boarding Miss Martian's BIOSHIP.

Like normal whenever the Team went out on a mission or excursion the BIOSHIP would detach a boarding pad for the Team to walk aboard.

"Oh, I can't wait to see Dr. Fate's magic."

M'gann once in the captain's seat placed her hands on the driving orbs and squealed with excitement.

Artemis wanted to get back at Wally for his lie about his love for magic and asked.

"So Wally where'd you get your love for the Mystic arts?"

Wally simply looked back at M'gann and answered.

"Well if I didn't become Kid Flash my second occupation was going to be a Wizard."

After hearing that pathetic excuse of an answer everyone just focused on the ride until Miss Martian arrived at the coordinates.

"This is strange?"

"Agreed"

Caldur was the first to speak followed by Josh who only saw a clear field of grass.

Josh seemed immersed in the sight until an idea crossed his brain. Through a shuffling of his pockets, Josh brought out the Key Red Tornado handed to him before they left the base.

Once the Key was in hand Josh shuddered as the Key began to glow a golden hue. The light was captured perfectly in Josh's hand looking as if he was holding a small sun.

"Cool!"

Artemis noticed Josh's lighted hand and once noticing the Key spoke her mind.

Everyone after hearing Artemis's acknowledgement of the glowing Key looked to Josh seeing the light show he was giving off.

Once all eyes were on Josh the Key as if on cue levitated off his hand and teleported out of said hand.

Once the light of the Key disappears another golden light flashes across everyone's faces. The new golden light seemed so big and large that no shape could be made due to the heaviness of the light on everyone's eyes.

Once the light calmed to a desirable level Everyone saw the newly summoned castle that stood in front of them.

Once the tower was within view Miss Martian used her psionic abilities and levitated everyone off the BIOSHIP and onto the grass right in front of the tower.

"Where's the door?"

Wally after deducing that the Tower teleported after the identification tag inside the Key was activated asked the most normal question anyone could think of.

"What business do you have here?"

The Team looked at each other and then at Josh now Shift for guidance who spoke out to the mysterious voice.

"We are here to check on a Kent Nelson at Red Tornado's request!"

The Tower became quiet as if it was pondering the answer it was given until another question was emitted from its mouth?

"Do you believe in Magic?"

Everyone looked at each other with question marks plastered on each of their foreheads.

Soon after discussing how to react everyone spoke together in unison.

"Yes!"

Soon the Golden hue reappeared encasing the group in its light and then soon teleporting them away from their current location.

At the sight of the teleportation BIOSHIP simply cued in worry at the sight of her bonded one's sudden disappearance.

….

Just like the Zeta Tube the Golden light after encasing the Team soon disappeared and a new light took its place.

"Lava!!"

The Team somehow found themselves in a pit that at the end led to a pit of molten death.

At the sight, both M'gann and Josh moved in instinct. M'gann used her telekinesis and levitated everyone but slowly grew weaker to the heat of the molten Lava.

Josh slammed his wrist using the powers of the Omnitrix changing his physical form with the familiar green light.

Bandages began to wrap around Josh's body enrapturing it. The now bandaged body also had the headpiece of an Egyptian ruler like Tut.

"Snare-Oh!"

Josh screamed with haste as he transformed into this mummified Alien and began to shoot his bandages from his body in two directions.

The first was to grab the teammates that M'gann started losing control of and the other side were bandages stabbing themselves into the wall stopping their immediate deaths.

The bandages flew through the air like well-placed projectiles hitting the walls of the chasm the Team was in creating holes in the walls so the Bandages would stick.

Snare-Oh didn't know why they were in this situation until he remembered the mission briefing with Wally and called out.

""WALLY!""

The first voice was Josh whose voice sounded like a scratchy wheel. The other voice was Artemis who only spoke out to Wally for calling MM hot.

"Hey! Inches above sizzling death I'm entitled to speak my mind!"

Josh could sense that Wally didn't understand what he meant and relaid what he actually thought.

"Do you believe in Magic!!!"

Wally looked terrified almost from hearing the accusation from Josh and continually said.

"Yes. I do believe."

As if those were a set of keywords the Lava began to both rise and get increasingly hotter with each utterance.

Wally then looked at the rising pitfall and then mumbled to himself.

"I don't believe."

With another set of key words spoken the Lava fell to the lowest point where once there was sealed by a stone floor.

Josh without any strength anymore released the bindings on everyone causing them to fall as he too lost the will to hold onto the wall.

M'gann now recovered uses her telekinesis again and lays everyone onto the ground.

Calder was the first to touch the ground and used that time to recuperate SuperBoy looked to Calder trying to help him up which Calder took saying.

"Just like M'gann I too have a physiology that is very weak to extreme temperatures."

Once Calder was up the next person to lay down was Josh who weakly moved his arms to his chest hitting the Omnitrix icon and releasing the transformation.
