Chapter 9: Gwen 10

The sun raid through the bindings of the RV. Onto sleeping, Benita in bed.

She opens her eyes with a groan: sitting up scanning the room; Grandpa Max and the others are not in bed.She exits the RV, and Grandpa Max that was pumping the gas: gave his signature smile.

Max: Ben, your finally awake. I was afraid you're going to waste your break in bed.

Benita; Yeah, but this is way cooler. She rubs her eyes.

"You're telling me Benita Tennyson enjoys the outdoors with her Grandpa?"

"It's better than staying home doing chores, no offense." Grandpa Max chuckles.

"That's fine." The doorbell chimes and two familiar voices catch Benita and Grandpa's attention.

Gwen; Your nice guy persona is too much. Ben slept in that should knock some sense in her walnut head.

Benita noticed Will walking: and his appearance changed from the one before Vilgax torture therapy.

Will(Before); You know, I should let Ben know your talking trash, but that wouldn't change much, wouldn't it?

"You know us so well." She flashes her eyebrows.

"Hey, Ben. I got you a snack while we're there. Next time you on your own." He hands her a Honey Bun while she stares hard at Will, gaining confused looks from Gwen and Will.

Gwen; A thank you will suffice. Will elbows Gwen's arm. Ow! Hey.

Benita; You're eye...

"Yeah? ...I don't see dead people." He answered, confused.

"The effects it...seems to wore off." She pulls on his cheeks as Will lightly slap her hands with an unnoticeable blush. Gwen points her water bottle at Benita.

Gwen; What's your deal? Your acting..off.

"Me? Off? You two forget the beef with Vilgax in-uh She counts with her fingers. A two week ago, think?" Grandpa Max stumbles in the background while Gwen and Will glance at one another.

Will(Before); Uh? Hate to break it to you, but we departed a few hours ago.

Gwen; And that 'Vilgax' fellow is part of your ridiculous conscience called a dream.

Benita; No, he's real.

Max; Alright guys, this Rust Bucket good to go. He waits out the door. Gwen enters the RV while Will places his hand on her shoulder.

Will; Come on. He walks ahead while Benita hesitant.

Benita; I'm not crazy. Am I? Suddenly the bell chimes as rapid footstep repeats.

Thug; Crap!

Thug 2; I told you to do this at noon! The thugs got on their motorbikes on the side of the gas station while Thug rips his mask off: turning on his bike.

Thug; We did. Get off my back. Benita approach the two.

Max; Ben! Will and Gwen grew worried.

Benita; Look at you two, rob a music store along the way? She stood confident while

Thug 2 push thug's arm.

Thug 2; She saw your face.

Thug: Looks like I'm breaking my promise. He pulls a chain from his bike inventory, swinging the chain gaining enough momentum to strike while he revs the bike.

Will; Get out of there!

Benita; It's time to give you a lesson. It's hero time. SMACK!! Huh? She noticed her watch was gone. My watch?!

The thug on the Motorbike took off after Benita. He goes to end her, but a Trashcan hits the thug off the bike while the motorbike slide at Benita; She jumps over while it crashes against a yellow-painted stone guard by the RV.

Max; Benita, don't just stand there.

Gwen; Grandpa!

Thug 2 revs his bike took off at Max. Will appeared with a pipe in hand. He hurls the pipe: between the front rim, causing the bike to flip and the thug to fly; Max clothesline thug 2; knocking him unconscious.

Max; Fantastic job, Will.

Gwen; How can you do something like that?

Will; Uh, luck? He shrugged.

Benita; Grandpa. My watch?!

Max; What watch?

...

The RV departed from the gas station. The Officers place the thugs in their cruiser.

Gwen; Grandpa, you were awesome out there. She blushes, looking away. ...You too, Will.

Will; Thanks. Benita, favorite shirt hit his face. He rips it off and glances back at Benita, going through her clothes in a panic.

Benita; I don't understand. You two were like that all summer. I had a watch that can turn me into different aliens. It's called the Omnitrix.

Max; Omnitrix? I never heard of it. Is that like a new tread you kids be rocking? Gwen shrugs. Benita approached Will and grasps his shoulder.

" Look you, gotta believe me. Even when you don't have the Omnitrix, you were amazing: in your way. That watch blast, gave you the ability, like me without; the watch. Your favorite was the moth guy that turns invisible and breath ice-"

Gwen; She's speaking gibberish.

Will(before); Look Benita, you got a cold. You should rest.

Benita; But, I-

" No, no, rest." Benita goes to protest, but she sighs and went to her bunk.

...

She peaks through the blinds: staring at the camp, she remembered all too well.

Benita; I think I can still get it. She races out the door.

Max; Ben-

"I'm going to show you the Omnitrix and you'll believe me then!" Gwen watches Benita disappeared into the bushes.

Will stood up: hammering down the last pin on the tent.

Will; I'm going to follow. He races after her while Gwen stares silently.

Gwen; I'm going for a walk, grandpa.

Max; Be careful, and hurry back. I'm making Grub Festa. He smiles while Gwen races out of camp with panic in her eyes.

Benita races down the woods. Glancing up at the starry night searching; for that special star.

Benita; Come on where is it?

Will; B- Ben. Benita stops to see Will catch up with sweat rolling down his head. Damn it, girl...You know, I hate running. He pants.

"I'm glad you followed." She goes to grab his hand, but Will pulls back.

"Ben, you been acting out of character, Lately. Like you're determined to find that watch."

"Uh-huh." She continued her way, but Will cut her off.

Will; You know I'm here for you, but-

Benita; Will we talk, later: Help me find- A shooting star flew by and over their heads, but Benita found that star all too familiar. Crap! You missed out, but more for me! She raced after it while Will followed.

They approach the crater, but Will grabs Benita's arm.

Will; Ben, let's get out of here.

Benita; It's all good: Don't be a worried sport. She pulled from him. Benita slid down the crater to check the small pod. What?! It's gone!

"Gwen, what you got there?" Benita peeks from the crater to see Gwen: messing with the Omnitrix.

Gwen: I don't know. I wonder how it works.

Benita; No, no, no, give it back! She tries to take the watch, but Gwen denied it. Only a trained hero can handle something that powerful.

"The closest you are is a trained seal." Benita growls.

Will(Before); Can you take it off? Gwen pushes Benita's face back.

Gwen; Maybe. She goes to take it off. It won't come off!

"Your joking?"

Benita; That I was trying to tell you! Idiots. She mutter.

Gwen; Ok, 'watch expert' do you know how it works?

Benita approaches, taking her wrist as the dial opens, revealing an alien.

"Press this button and slam on this dial like so."

BOOMSHI!!!

Will(Before); My god. Will looks up to the new and improved HeatBlast(Gwen). Her Omnitrix shimmered pink.

HeatBlast(Gwen); Wooh. I'm on fire, but I'm not.

Benita; Heatblast is a fire type. Fire stream and fire breath- Heat Blast(Gwen) forms a fireball and toss it around to one hand and another. Woah! Slow down: you don't want to cause a forest fire.

"Only an Idiot will set the forest on fire." She looks up to the starry sky and fires a beam. It explodes like a firework it rains, revealing 'Gwen' in the sky.

"What that took me weeks to practice that!"

" I think I might get the hang of it. She smirks while Will sat on his butt, thinking deeply. You alright slugger?"

Benita; I think you should go back with grandpa. Will slowly looks to HeatBlast(Gwen).

Will(Before); Y-yeah, I should. He gets up. Uh, be careful. He leaves while the Tennysons watch him.

HeatBlast(Gwen); He looks like he saw a ghost.

Benita; Trust me, give him time.

"Sure."

...

Will(Before) walks back to camp, noticing the quiet atmosphere. The fire crackle while the pot boil of burned grubs.

The cricket's moan filled the night.

Will(Before); "Grandpa Max? He wanders to the fire, placing the burnt grubs onto the dirt. Max." He snaps back, hearing a bush rustle.

He picks up a pocketknife from Max's camping bag and silently but cautiously approaches. The rustle stops, and so did Will. His eyes widen and dive from the Orange blur.

ROAR!! Wildmutt lands on the log by the firepit.

Will hid behind the RV. He took a peak, noticing it looking around as its gils retracts.

Will pants and slowly begins calming his breath.

He looks back, but Wildmutt stood in his way.

Sniff! Sniff!

Will(Before); Stand back! He steps back, flashing the knife while Wild mutt follows. I said, stand back! He swings the pocketknife. Wild mutt swiftly dodges.

Roar.

It goes into the RV taking Will by complete surprise.

Will(Before); Seriously! Wildmutt came out dropping, Max funnel. That's Max's. It lays on it. Grandpa Max?

Roar.

He approaches and brushes his head on Will.

"This doesn't make any sense...We must find Benita."

The Radio from the RV came to discuss the fire, Diamond woman, and a giant robot at a nearby drive-in site.

Will(Before); That must be them. I'm driving.

Bark!!! Growl!!!

"I'll take good care of it." He enters the RV while Wildmutt snaps his jaws and enters after.

Diamond Head(Gwen) charges with diamond-shaped blades: the robot leaps over her attack and crushes her while Benita wince.

Benita; No worries, he did the same to me. Diamond Head(Gwen) try that attempt again, but the robot took some distance. She climbs out of the crater.

Diamond Head(Gwen); Is that how are you gonna play it? Let's play can opener. The Robot eye beam charges, but a fireball hits.

Heat Blast(Max); Is it me? Or I'm getting old? He gave a tired facial expression.

Will(Before); That's everyone! He whispers the last part. He's on our side.

Benita; Wait, wait, another one? Who can it be?

Diamond Head(Gwen); Grandpa?

HeatBlast (Max): One of a charm. He winks. But we got bigger fish to fry. The Robot fires a beam at HeatBlast(Max) that dodges as an RV explodes.

" Dead on. She flicks her wrist while Diamond projectiles land their mark. Projectiles. She looks at her reflection from her hand. The power of refraction. Grandpa!"

HeatBlast (Max) rolls from the beam and fires a ball.

"Yes?!"

"Laser tag!"

"Laser-Oh I get it!" HeatBlast( Max) Charges at Diamond Head(Gwen) while The robot's eyes glow. Come on, hit me with your best shot. HeatBlast( Max) dived while The robot fires.

She reflects the beam, destroying the robot in one swift attack.

Will(Before); Woah, they're good. Diamond Head(Gwen) helps HeatBlast( Max) to his feet while the guests in the drive-in stood by Will.

Man; Who's they?

"People that change my life, forever."

Vilgax; It seems the Omnitrix is in the hands of a powerful user. It's fail-safe infected another. There's no waiting now.

Benita tosses in her sleep and slowly opens her eyes, seeing Gwen waking up Will below.

Gwen; Pssh, Will.

Will(Before); Hmm~, what do you want?

"I got a place you got to check out."

"I got a place...it's called sleep." He turns his back to her while Gwen's brow twitches, but she smirks.

Gwen; There's a fast-food joint near a place of my choice. What was it? Burger Shack. Will continued his slumber. I'll pay.

Will(Before); Well, you should've said sooner. Gwen sighs while they exit the RV. Benita hops down, looks through the blinds, watching them leave.

In the bowling alley alone, Four-arms (Gwen) hurls the bowling balls down four lanes. She wore her usual clothes.

Four-arms(Gwen); Strike! Strike! Strike! Strike! Will(Before) gave a surprising glance holding a bowling ball of his own. Tough that. She smirked.

Will(Before) rolls the bowling ball and missed the last pin by a long shot.

Will(Before); There goes my confidence.

"And there goes your five. She took the five dollars off the table. Fourarms(Gwen) tosses and catches a bowling ball with one hand. Three out of four?" Will(Before) sat at the bowling table.

Will(Before); I'm fine, how long is that transformation?

Four-arms(Gwen); What? Don't like what you see?~ She winks, Will looks away.

Will(Before); That's not what I mean. Four-arms(Gwen) sat at the Bowling table in front of him. It's hard to explain, but...I need everyone here.

Four-arms(Gwen); Does this alien offends you?!

Will(Before); No, no-crap. He leans on the table with his head covered while the Omnitrix clocked out.

Gwen; Then what is?

Will(Before);...

Gwen: Will. He slouched. Will!

Will(Before); That power reminds me of my ex. Will(Before) sees Gwen's surprised face while Will(Before) looks away. Well, it not the same, but it's..close.

"You had an ex?"

" Yes, but there's more to me than meets the eye. Will(Before) gathers the courage to look her in the eyes. That's why I want everyone here."

"Well, at least you're honest. She looks up back at Will. But..I want to be honest with you. She grasps his hand with a noticeable blush while Will(Before) blush appeared. I-I..geez. Is it getting hot in here? She fans herself while sweat rolls down her head. You know, I'll refresh up. I'm quite smelly!"

Will(Before); Gwen, wait.

BOOMSHI!!!

A blue line flashes towards Will(Before): revealing XLR8(Gwen) smashing lips with Will(Before); This surprised him, but he went with it. The blue line flashes away while the girl's bathroom swings back and forth. I- christ.

Will(Before) was a blushing mess, two pair of green eyes disappeared behind the counter of 'Bowling F'nack'

Benita; He's...in love with Gwen. She said under her breath. Did the time change? She grasps her head in frustration. No, it's not over. I can still change his mind.

BOOM!!!

Wood and debris rained on Benita's head. She peaks from the counter.

Vilgax; Tell me, child. Where's the Omnitrix? He approached Will(Before). He got up on his feet, backing up.

Will(Before); Who the hell are you?

"For a child, you have a dirty mouth."

"And for an intimating alien, you have ego complex. But I'm not complaining though." A blue flash appeared in front of Will(Before). It was XLR8(Gwen). Vilgax towered the two.

XLR8(Gwen); Will get out of here.

Will(Before); I'm not leaving you-

"PLEASE!"

Vilgax; Ew, duologue. He goes grab them, but a bowling pin hits his head, not fazing him.

Benita; No! Run! She jumps over the counter.

Vilgax punches XLR8(Gwen) and Will(Before), but the blue line raced out the door, leaving Vilgax at his lonesome.

The blue line raced through the empty town and into the woods; XLR8 stops behind a tree with Will and Benita.

XLR8(Gwen); You doofus: what were you doing there?

Benita; Saving your dumb butt.

Will(Before); So, you followed us; Waiting for that giant to come and warn us?

Benita; No, he is not supposed to come this early. She chokes on her words. Uh-I mean

XLR8(Gwen) folds her arms and glares.

" Look girls, this not the time. The dark tower is out to get us, especially Gwen. He turns to Benita. That alien- is that Vilgax?"

"The meanest."

CRASH!!!

Dust scattered while XLR8(Gwen) moved the two from battle distances.

Vilgax punches her, but she dodges in a flash.

Vilgax; There you are.

XLR8(Gwen); You one obsessed alien. Are you a fan? She dodges again, Vilgax metal boot breaks through a tree. XLR8 dashes towards Vilgax.

ZROOOM!

Gwen; AAAAH!! She flips and crashes into Vilgax. Uh, ah! Vilgax grabs her and lifts her to his face.

Vilgax; Not so confident, are you? Will charges at Vilgax with a rock.

Will(Before); Let her go! He slams the rock on his boot while Vilgax walks away: ignoring him. DO YOU HEAR ME?

"Will, let her go!" This shocked Gwen and Will.

Vilgax; It'll be wise to listen, boy. A giant spiked ball rolls in front of Vilgax as it opens, revealing a seat his size.

Gwen: Will. Vilgax: hurls her in and entered while Will dropped to his knees.

The ball rolled away.

Benita; Will. We got to get back to camp. Grandpa would know what to do. She grabs his hand. He pulled away.

Will; What was that?! What the hell wrong with you?!

Benita; Will this, not the time, Grandpa-

"Max can turn alien at some time and is barely knowing how to use that power. How can he find an eight-foot alien and no less fight it while we're put in harm's way?!"

Benita; He's a plumber: he found me before. He'll find Gwen. Will stood silently then walks past Benita.

Will; Come on. Plumber? He jumps into pipes or something? He grumbles.

In Vilgax ship, Gwen hangs with a metal cuff on her Omnitrix while Vilgax types on a terminal. Gwen looks to the floor.

'Will! Let her go!'

Gwen; I knew Ben hates me, but-

Vilgax; Quit, your chattering.

Gwen looks to Vilgax.

"You're not going to hurt a little girl, would you?" Vilgax approached a table, picking up a technical dagger.

Vilgax; That wouldn't be fun, wouldn't it? Gwen grasp as the blade came close.

BOOM!!

The rust bucket drifts into a stop while Max steps out with a tech cannon.

Max; Keep your paws off my granddaughter, Vilgax. The cannon flared.

Vilgax: Tennyson. He said with venom.

The cannon fires while Vilgax dodges; the beam that took some of his henchmen and the wall. Vilgax charges: slicing the barrel at Max's attempt to dodged, but Max's shoulder tackles him.

Will and Benita raced to Gwen's aid.

Gwen; Ben. Will.

Ben; Sorry: about earlier. I knew Grandpa, will handle it.

"It's fine: just get me out of here." Benita slams her fist on the metal cuff; opening it.

Vilgax rips the cannon from Max's hand, kicks him onto his back, And stomps on Max's chest.

Max; *Strain*

Vilgax; You think you can best me, Tennyson?

Max/Fourarms(Max); No./ I think I can. Vilgax's eyes widen: while Fourarms( Max) pushes him to the ceiling. Vilgax came down, but a blue beam intercepts, blowing him into a wall.

Will; Take that, freak. The binding from Gwen's recent holding: burst into electricity and zaps Gwen. She starts to float while spinning.

Gwen; No. No. Stop me: I'm going to puke.

"What's happening?!"

ZROOM!!

The Omnitrix flew. Time seems to slow down while Benita noticed this and took the opportunity. She swings her wrist at it as the watch came close to home. She smiles out of joy.

Fourarms( Max); Move Ben! Vilgax swats Benita across the room while Vilgax took Benita's place.

Benita rolls across the floor, daze. Vilgax! Four arms(Max) charged throwing punches, until Vilgax counters. He threw Fourarms( Max) over his shoulder and kicks his chest: crashing into the wall.

Vilgax; Yes! The Omnitrix is finally in my possession. Will and Gwen check on Benita while Vilgax tinker with the watch.

Will: Ben, how-THAT BASTARD!!! He glares: enraged. Benita winces with a cut on her cheek while her eyes widen seeing the revelation.

Benita; No. no-no, Grandpa, get up! She shouts, surprising Gwen and Will.

Gwen: This bad?

Vilgax; Oh, please do. He stares at the hole in the wall while Fourarms(Max) climbs out with a glare. Vilgax tempts him over.

Fourarms( Max); Aaah! He charges, tackling Vilgax into a wall. Tha! Tha! Tha! He threw heavy punches landing every blow and end it with an uppercut.

Vilgax looks down at Max with his head in cased of diamond. Oh. Vilgax headbutts Fourarms(Max) to his knee and shoots fire blowing Max onto his back as he slid towards the pacified kids.

"The galaxy is mine to take." The diamond vaporizes while his heat blast arm returns to his own. You Tennyson's have loss, bow before me, and accept your defeat.

Gwen and Benita; Grandpa. They aid Max while Vilgax approaches.

Fourarms(Max); I'm fine, kids. Was this part of Vilgax plan?

Benita; This is not even part of it.

Gwen; He now has the watch at his begging call, and this wasn't his plan? This can't get any worst, can it?

Will took a knee by the three.

Will: Ben, there's has to be a weakness to the watch. Vilgax's footsteps grew closer, while Fourarms(Max) got up to his feet.

Fourarms(Grandpa Max); I'm back for round three. Fourarms (Max) took Vilgax on.

Gwen; Ben, you gotta: know something. Benita tries her best to think.

Benita; ...Followed my lead.

Will; Ok! Fourarms( Max) flew crashing through Gwen's restraints while a big black wire hangs to the floor sparking every, now and again.

Gwen; That has to do for now. Grandpa! Max dodges a swat, yet Vilgax shoulder tackles using XLR8 speed. He falls on his back and onto his feet.

His eyes wander to Gwen and the wire.

Fourarms(Grandpa Max); Come on, Vilgax! Vilgax blasts a fireball, but Max cuts him off and uppercuts. Vilgax's right arm forms a diamond blade and slashes.

Max dodges at the last second cutting his arm, but he tanks the cut: pushing, Vilgax towards the center.

Vilgax; You always had to fight, Tennyson. Vilgax stays in place feet from the center. It seems death is your calling. Vilgax's body hazes while Fourarms(Grandpa Max) grunts in pain. A beam puts Vilgax on his knee and to his back.

Gwen; Take him down. Gwen and Benita drop the cannon to help Will drag the wire over to the two semi-giants.

Will; Ah! They jammed the wire onto the Omnitrix, electricity burst as the Omnitrix blinks rapidly. Come on! Red lights flare, in the room, and the alarm blare.

Alarm: Repair in power, shortage before the blackout in Five minutes.

Vilgax; You fools!

DING! DING! VROOOM!

The green blast blew everyone back. Gwen and Benita hit the floor, Max, into the wall. Will onto his back.

Vilgax stood up with the Omnitrix still in hand.

"You're attempt won't save you." He grabs Will by his throat: his legs shook.

Max; Vilgax...don't. Gwen and Benita noticed until Vilgax hurls Will through the hole they made.

Will; HAA!! He flew from the ship. Max leaps after him.

Gwen; Turn back! They entered the RV while Benita couldn't believe the turn of events.

Benita starts the RV while Vilgax approaches them while his arm shifting into a diamond. Shooting shards.

Some pierced, but no one was hurt. Gwen stomps onto the gas, and the RustBucket drove into a Massive drop below.

Benita and Gwen; HAAAAA!!! The RV Breakthrough the breeze hearing the air whistle.

Vilgax is staring down at them.

Vilgax; Hmph. He turns around, but someone tackles him through the hole. He notices Upgrade turning into liquid.

Seeking into the Omnitrix. Pest! Get out of there! He goes to pull him off, but a green blast stops him.

A green circle appeared in the center of the watch, glaring.

Upgrade; Not this time, Vilgax. The Omnitrix slips from Vilgax's grasp.

"No!"

BOOM!!! The watch gave a green blast.

Blowing Vilgax back into the ship, causing a chain of explosions.

Upgrade separates from the Omnitrix, freefalling after the RV with the watch in hand.

He makes it: taking control of the RV turning the inside and out green, black, and white.

The staring wheel turned.

Upgrade(Staring Wheel); Hold on, guys! Before the cousins can recognize the voice, the RV turned into high tech RV/Airplane.

They settle onto the empty roadside as they watch the Vilgax ship crashed yards away.

Upgrade separates from the RV while everyone stared at their savior.

Benita; Will?

Will; Hey! Guys!! He runs getting noticed. They all gave a group hug.

Upgrade shows the Omnitrix in hand.

Upgrade; I manage to snatch this from Vilgax. Anyone can-OFF!! They hug it.

Gwen; We know it was you, grandpa. He wraps his big hands around them, giving them a warm hug.

Upgrade(Max) nods and gently pushes Gwen and Benita back.

Upgrade (Max); So...who wants it? Benita, Will, and Gwen thinks.

Will; Count me out, I don't know what my parents will say if they see me turning alien.

Benita; You sure? You have potential, Will.

"The only potential I see is." He points to Gwen.

This shocks her.

Will; She may be cocky at times, but that girl got brains. She has time to grow.

Gwen; U-Uh, y-you sure?! You and Ben hadn't except me! She blushes.

Benita/Gwen; Gwen can have it./ Ben can have it. Huh? You take it. This is the only time: I'm being..this to you. Upgrade(Max) chuckles while Will sighs.

Benita; You take it. I learn: being a hero is not about turning alien. Anyone can be one if they charged into problems to help those who are in need.

Upgrade Max pats her head.

Gwen; You sure? Benita grabs her arm and hovers it over the Omnitrix as it leaps onto Gwen taking its previous home. Ben..I-

Benita; Shut up. You making me regret it.

Max; HA! Shifts back while blood rains from his nose. His face grew eye bags.

Will; Max are you-

"Exhausted...just need a little rest. I gotta get used to this."

Benita; Well, guys with this much happened. Buffet on me. She enters the RV while Will and Gwen followed.

"D-Don't! You-"

Will; I'm driving, get in Max!!
