8 Magic?

Superman, wearing a breathing mask, flew up next to the Omni that noticed he was coming. Before greeting Omni, he looked around to see a large, red and purple round creature with the hourglass symbol flinging parademons around without touching them and a blur flying around shooting green beams at them.

"Hey Superman," Ben greeted, "I see you brought the cavalry."

"Yeah...where did these two come from?" he pointed towards the previous mentioned beings.

"I duplicated by using an alien and had them go about their business. Makes army battle easier," Ben shrugged.

"Do you know what these things are?" Ben asked.

"They're called parademons and they're from a planet called Apokolips," he started after shaking his head from Omni's explanation and before the javelins caught up next to them, "They're made from dead prisoners mostly and are expendable because they're just a mindless hive."

"Damn. Then who's their master?"

"A being called Darkseid. He's basically a god," Superman said, an unreadable expression on his face.

Ben raised an eyebrow at that but let him continue.

"We barely survived him last time by surprising him and pushing him into a teleporter that sent him to a different dimension."

"How long do you think it will be before he shows up?"

"Well, these are just his shock troops and he'll probably send some of his commanders before he comes in person so I'd say around 3-4 months."

"So we have enough time to plan how to beat him," Ben said.

"Maybe. After we beat this fleet, we'll probably have a week until another comes."

A parademon almost reached them before Superman shot red lasers out of his eyes and destroyed it. He then looked at Omni.

"How about we continue this conversation after we finish this," he said then flew off.

Ben looked at the remaining 60 or so ships and was about to go until a javelin went in front of him. The side door opened and Zatanna flew out, blue magic covering her entire body.

"Why'd you leave to fight alone?" she said, an irritated look with hints of worry flashed on her face.

"I knew I could hold them off long enough for you guys to get help," He replied.

Green Lantern, covered in green energy, came next to them.

"Omni, good job on holding them until we could get here but next time, don't take the risk. Though you just became a member today, remember that we're a family and that we take care of each other. Don't forget that," he said before rocketing off towards the fleet.

Ben looked at Zatanna, who shrugged.

"What he said," she said with a smirk, "now how about we kick some ass?"

"Lead the way," Ben smiled and extended his arm sideways.

----------------------------

After Omni and Zatanna joined the fray, he absorbed his duplicates and went back to melee as Zatanna was near him, firing magic beams and would form a forcefield around herself when needed. When a parademon escaped her sight, Ben would appear and crush it's skull before going back to fighting tens at a time.

They developed a good rhythm with each other and both would smile wide when they made eye contact through the fight.

Zatanna was shocked at how Omni seemed to defeat these creatures effortlessly. He moved so fast that it looked like he was teleporting and he was helping her out whenever an enemy got past her. She didn't see him turn into Waybig before because he was out of sight of the javelin when he transformed. She did, however, notice the destruction of multiple ships and the thousands of bodies floating aimlessly around him when she returned.

"You're using magic, right?" Omni asked her while they took a breather. The main fighting was a bit ahead as they floated next to each other.

"Yep," Zatanna laughed, "What gave it away? The outfit?"

"Ha, that was a good clue but I confirmed it when watching you use it," Omni said.

"Been around magicians, have you?" Zatanna placed her hands on her hips, still catching her breath through her magic mask.

"Actually yes," he chuckled, "my cousin learned it at a young age, although she has an advantage because she is descended from a magic alien species."

"Magic alien species?" Zatanna asked.

"Anodite's their name," Omni nodded, "and I don't have their DNA signature because they don't have DNA," he laughed.

"How do they reproduce then?" she asked.

"I don't know the specifics but they somehow have a sort of genetic code which can manifest in their offspring and descendants. And even though it didn't manifest within me, my cousin did teach me some tricks," Omni produced a pink sphere above his palm.

"Pink?" Zatanna chuckled.

"Hey, I'll have you know that pink is the manliest of colors," he mocked anger.

Zatanna covered her mouth with a hand to hold back laughter. Omni held his mocked expression before letting it crumble with a smile on his face.

"Well, even though I'm about average when it comes to magic, I can increase its strength by using the omnitrix. Check out my eyes," He had the helmet melt away, leaving his hair and beard to float.

His eyes filled with pink mana before it turned bright green and started seeping outwards.

"Wow," Zatanna marveled, not quite seeing something like that, "How strong is it now?"

Omni turned towards an unscathed ship and grinned as he pulled back his arm. A green glow could be seen seeping through the spaces between his fingers before he punched towards the ship. The green beam started small but quickly grew before it smashed through the middle of the ship, leaving a giant gaping hole where stars could be seen on the other side.

"Um, I don't really know what to say," Zatanna stammered.

Omni's mana eyes turned back to normal as he looked at her.

"Well, my magic's regular strength is about a fourth of that blast just now," he said.

"Well how about we get back to the fight and I show you some of my tricks?" Zatanna said, a challenge in her eyes.

"Oh? And what tricks would that be?" Omni smirked, his helmet still off.

Zatanna didn't say anything as she disappeared. Ben was bewildered before someone tapped on his shoulder. It was the magician herself.

"Something like that," she whispered in his ear before disappearing again and appearing in front of some ships ahead and firing lightning from her hands.

"Oh it is on," Ben laughed as green mana filled his eyes once more.
