We Are Back!

BOOM!
Felix struggled to catch his breath.
'I'm lucky,' he commented mentally.
A quick glance at his HP bar and he could see that he was down to the last 10%!
That attack from Porter came too quick for him to react accordingly but not too quick for him to activate counter measures that he had for situations just like these.
Felix was currently standing a few meters away from the area that was affected by Porter's attack. He had narrowly escaped it thanks to an item he was never going to be able to use again.
He looked at his inventory and seeing the missing scroll made him scowl. Never had he expected to use it this early but knowing that dying in this world meant you died for real, Felix knew he couldn't let that attack touch him.
[Item name: Tarsha's Scroll
Rank: A
Description: Can only be found after clearing dungeon {Tarsha's tomb} and killing Tarsha's ghost before dungeon collapse. User can only use this item once at any point to replace them with a phantom that takes a percentage of any meant damage while they will be transported to a safe distance.
Use(s): 1/1]
Felix took multiple health potions to get his health bar to full as he walked over to Jasper who stood in front of Porter who was on his knees in front of him and had multiple arrows stuck in his body.
Each arrow had golden chains that were firmly stuck in the ground, stopping Porter from moving.
"Thought you were dead," Jasper said as he saw Felix getting closer.
"Almost was," Felix replied as he stopped in front of them, his eyes not looking away from Porter.
"Took a moment, but I managed to restrict his movements. The bad news is the durability of [restraining arrows] is dropping rapidly. He'll break free in approximately 30 seconds," Jasper said.
"Let's make it count then," Felix raised his hand to the side and the air distorted as his arm went through it. He could feel his fingers grasp onto the hilt of a sword.
A vile aura filled the surroundings as Felix attempted to pull out the sword. Feeling the sudden change, Porter raised his head and looked at Felix.
Felix immediately tried to pull out the sword faster but Porter acted too quickly. A wave of energy spread from his body but before it could hit them, a giant transparent shield appeared but the force from the energy wave still pushed them back a great distance.
"THOUGHT YOU SAID THIRTY SECONDS?!" Felix shouted.
"Seems I was wrong," Jasper replied.
CLANG!
Felix watched as Porter hit the shield with his transparent sword and a crack spread from the point of impact. Felix immediately pulled out a sword from thin air and just in time to parry Porter's attack as the shield had shattered two seconds later.
Felix shot into the distance, crashing hard into the side of a partially destroyed building, as he didn't have the strength to hold his own against Porter who now turned his attention to Jasper who quickly fired off three arrows at him.
He raised his sword to deflect them but at a flick of Jasper's fingers, they changed directions. Lodging themselves into Porter's back.
Chains quickly came out from them and attached themselves to the ground.
Porter groaned as the chains were once again restricting his movement. He looked at Jasper who had a fiery arrow trained at him with a resolute look on his face.
"[Fury Tiger]," Jasper let go of the arrow and it flew through the air towards Porter. The arrow quickly transformed into a flaming tiger that roared as it rushed towards its target, spreading it jaws and biting hard.
BOOM!
An explosion rocked what was once the thriving city of Mudilona.
Jasper watched as the smoke cleared, unsure if that attack was enough to take Porter down. The system had yet to show a damage indicator despite how much they've been fighting the guy.
But the issue of the damage indicator disappeared from Jasper's mind as the smoke cleared only for him to see that the man was gone!
'Shit.'
He quickly looked around to make sure he wasn't caught off guard as he knew that a single attack from this guy could kill him.
The plattering sound of rain hitting the ground could be heard as it began to rain again. Jasper looked up and sure enough, Porter was levitating meters above him.
He quickly tried to draw his bow but the next second, he found himself being held by the throat by the same man he just tried to attack!
"They're gone," Porter muttered to a confused and panicked Jasper.
Porter had become so disheveled when his wife died. It caught him so off guard that he didn't even know how to react but the emotion he felt the most was anger… at himself, at the world.
Killing Mikel wasn't enough.
His power had gone berserk and before he could control himself, everything was gone.
He was a murderer.
The only reason he had not completely eradicated Felix and Jasper was because he was no longer angry, just lost. He had only fought back to defend himself but he had no zeal to kill them.
Jasper kept trying to pry Porter's fingers off and noticing this, the latter glared at him and he stopped.
Porter sighed, "Why are you here?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Jasper responded.
Porter looked around. He could see the absolute destruction he had caused and it hurt his heart even more.
"I didn't mean… to do this," Porter said with sadness in his eyes.
"It's not too late to stop. We can help you as long as you surrender," Jasper responded. "You've caused enough harm. Let us help you."
Jasper knew that just like the real game, conversations could lead to different outcomes. He hoped to be able to get Porter to stop since it was getting clear they couldn't defeat this guy.
At the beginning, their mission said to stop him but was later updated to taking him down. The latter was not an option they could succeed in, so the former was the best to go with. Hopefully they would still get the mission rewards.
Porter seemed like he was contemplating Jasper's words for a while.
But just as he was about to speak…
CLAP! ZSST! BOOM!
A lightning bolt had struck down from the sky, hitting Porter and causing an explosion.
Jasper was on the ground. The explosion had caused him to lose a portion of his HP so he quickly drank a health potion to get back to full.
He had no idea where that attack had come from and he was sure it wasn't from Felix.
"Sorry man," a voice suddenly sounded behind him.
Jasper quickly turned around but calmed down when he saw it was.
"I tried to make sure the attack avoided you as much as possible," the person added with a smile as he stretched his hand to help Jasper up.
"Thanks for the consideration, Vincent. But I had it handled," Jasper said as he took Vincent's help.
"Of course you did," Vincent's smile widened.
This person was none other than Vincent Zinero, Guild leader of the top guild, King of Kings!
"What brings the lord of lightning all the way here?" Felix asked as he walked over to them.
"Well well, what do we have here? It's the demonic swordsman himself. Didn't know you were here. Wouldn't have bothered to make the trip," Vincent said with a slight laugh.
"You were around?"
"A little bit further into the desert, but yes," Vincent answered and Felix nodded. "I am a bit surprised that you haven't handled this yet. Is the opponent that strong?"
"It's Porter Maji," Felix answered.
"Oh," Vincent had his brows raised in surprise. "Well that explains that."
"I don't see your boys around," Felix commented.
"I went on ahead. Do you need my help with this or I should step away?" Vincent asked with a smile.
The rewards from this mission were good but Vincent knew how powerful Felix was. If he decided to sideline Felix here, it would lead to a fight he would much rather avoid since it wasn't worth what they would earn here and he was sure Felix felt the same.
While helping would at least give him access to some rewards, if Felix didn't want that then he would just have no choice but to back off or at least wait till they couldn't handle the situation.
Vincent suddenly got a party invite from none other than Felix himself which gave the confirmation that he could help them. With the smile still on his face, he accepted it.
Their attention quickly moved to the crater that formed from Vincent's attack as Porter slowly levitated from it.
"What's your game plan?" Vincent asked.
"Attack with Jasper supporting," Felix answered quickly as he pulled out a sword from thin air.
"Always quick to the point," Vincent let out a short laugh and waved his hand in front of him and a extravagant sword appeared which he quickly grasped.
Felix glanced at the sword before looking back at his opponent.
"Let's try to subdue him first, he was opening to reasoning when we talked," Jasper said.
Felix looked at him before looking at Vincent who shrugged.
"You heard the man…" Vincent suddenly disappeared with a burst of lightning and appeared above Porter. Swinging his sword down hard but the later blocked it.
A bolt of lightning rushed down and hit the sword giving it more power to push Porter back down into the crater.
"…subdue it is." Vincent added.

That was one long ass break! Anyway it won’t be happening again and I promise five chapters daily till premium :)
