He's gone mad

"I apologize for my subordinate's action Lord Maji," Vincent apologized.

"Oh, it's fine. In a situation like this, it is best to remain on edge," Porter smiled before nodding at Mikel who quickly performed an emote that made his character bow.

Porter Maji.

As one of the members of the noble house of Maji and cousin to the golden general, one didn't need to see him in action to guess his power level.

Despite how powerful he was, he had asked to be stationed here on the outskirts of the pink desert where there was hardly ever any action so he could settle down with his wife and build a family.

Thanks to his family's standing, his request was granted. Now that there was a sudden attack on Mudilona, he had no choice but to come out and fight.

According to the information Mikel read from the mission details, the golden general would be here with the reinforcements. The chances that he would get to see him in action were slim, but seeing another member of the Maji family in action was still a win.

"If it would not trouble you, could you aid us in this fight lord Maji?" Mikel said in the most respectful tone he could muster.

Vincent had his brow raised and had taken off his headphones to make sure he heard correctly.

"Of course," Porter smiled. "You don't need to even ask. It's my duty to protect this place."

"In that case, we leave this wave to you," Mikel responded. Although his in-game character didn't show it, he had a wide smile on his face.

If Porter could take care of all this for them, then not only would they get a chance to let their powerful skills go off cooldown, but he could also see Porter in action!

Truly killing two birds with one stone.

"While taking care of this wave would be no problem, I would hate to take all the glory in this battle after all you've done," Porter said.

"Oh, so you can't do this alone? It's perfectly fine if—"

Porter laughed, interrupting Mikel, "Now I never said I couldn't do it alone. I simply don't want to take all the glory which I would if I go through with it."

"Don't worry, we don't mind. Do we..." Mikel turned to Vincent, "... Guild leader?"

Vincent remained silent for a while before facing Porter, "We would be grateful for your help Lord Maji."

"Very well," Porter replied.

He then raised his hand and the clouds began to darken. Soon enough there was heavy rainfall.

Mikel watched in amazement at what was obviously the doing of this man in front of him.

There was a flash of light before a thunderclap. Mikel could swear that he had spotted something above the clouds during the flash of light.

Quickly dropping his controller, Mikel grabbed his mouse and zoomed into the clouds.

His jaw dropped the next moment when he saw it peeking its head from the clouds.

"Oh my God!" Mikel exclaimed. "Isn't that..."

"I'll only help you just this once, the rest is up to you." Porter's voice sounded.

'How could I be so unlucky?'

It wasn't like Mikel had forgotten about Porter's existence, his original plan was to avoid him until he was able to rank up and would escape before Porter could get involved.

Unfortunately, Porter's house ended up becoming the first house he crashed into.

With the blade only a moment away from finishing him up, Mikel quickly pulled out his arm and used it to block the sword.

The sword sliced through it effortlessly, but Mikel had already begun performing an action that would at least let him get away with his life when the attack hit, but suddenly, Mikel didn't see the sword or Porter anymore.

Before he could even process what was happening...

BOOM!

A long line of destruction leading from Porter's house to Mudilona's walls was the after-effect of the powerful kick Porter gave Mikel!

A seemingly endless number of notifications from the system filled Mikel's point of view, but that was not what was important right now.

He was nothing more than a skull!

'Why am I not dead?' Mikel thought as his bones grew back.

There should be no way that attack didn't kill him. Mikel got up and looked around at the absolute carnage.

Buildings were destroyed and blood and dismembered body parts were everywhere. Easily over a hundred people could have died.

That was a lot of casualties.

There was a sudden scream. Mikel could tell that it was filled with so much pain and sadness.

In the distance, in what was left of the Porter home, Porter held his wife's corpse in his hands and cried bitterly. Her blood smeared all over him.

He looked up, his eyes red and filled with rage. Even though Mikel was a far distance away from him, his eyes quickly caught him.

Mikel felt a chill go down his spine. He didn't know what was causing it but he wasn't going to stick around to find out.

Mikel felt a little bit of wind hit him. He thought nothing of it until he realized that he couldn't feel anything.

It was then that he realized that his body was hundred of meters away and he was back in the Porters' house with his skull testing on Porter's palm!

"You killed her," Porter said calmly. His eyes looking directly at the purple flames in Mikel's eye sockets.

[You're fucked.]

'I can see that.'

"I turned off my combat sense just so I can have a calm dinner with my family... this should never have happened. This was my fault," Porter mumbled as tears rolled down his cheeks.

He was breaking into a short laugh now and then. Mikel immediately knew that he was losing his mind.

"It's all my fault," he kept repeating while pulling at his hair.

Mikel already knew he was dead for sure, but the fact that he wasn't just made the situation awkward for him.

Because he already knew who Porter was, seeing him lose his cool like this was a fun sight. Mikel had once heard that the calmest of people had the most ferocious of breakdowns.

Except someone stopped him, it would most likely be the case here.

"There are more of you, aren't there?" Porter suddenly said. Mikel couldn't reply so he just watched as the former stretched forth his other hand and fierce winds blew.

It was slowly turning into a storm!

'He's going to destroy the village!'

Porter squeezed the skull which was all that was left of Mikel and it began to crack. He then brought it closer to his face.

"I will kill all of you," Porter whispered with a soft chuckle.

'Well shit, he's gone mad.'

[Achievement unlocked Mikel, you've made one of the strongest warriors of Beltimus mad. I wonder how that helps your mission.]

'I most definitely don't want any of your rotten attitude right now.'

"Die!" Porter squeezed harder and the skull scattered into fragments.
