Chapter six
The small alarm clock from the bedside rings making Shaina wake up from her short slumber, giving a low hiss she make her way to the bathroom first to wash her face. Afterward she pick up her cell phone to check her messages and was surprise to see many messages from Dylan, still angry at him she ignore the messages and scroll over the rest
'Nothing about last night' she thought as she kept on checking to see if any post was made about yesterday's party, sighing in relief she made her way out of her room hoping to find some breakfast to eat.
"Look who is here, Mrs. Liar" Selena remarked mockingly the second she saw her coming out of the room, seeing she's wearing her favorite green nightwear Shaina knew she slept over again.
When they finished high school Selena has requested to live alone and learn to be independent but then after leasing an apartment for her she hardly live there but rather comes home on the account of missing their parents and wanting to spend more time with them
'Lame excuse'
"You are finally awake?" their father said and took his seat at the dining room while he waited for the rest of the family to join them
'Good morning" she greeted nonchalantly and waited for everyone to get a meal before dishing out hers.
Before she finish serving her plate she saw her mother face turn to her like she's about to ask series of questions which she doesn't seems ready for, she had just lie her way through to get a pass at Selena and now she has created a mess, lying he's her fiancé could have been better
"No questioning during the meal, let's wait till after breakfast" Mr. Dothad said and everyone keep their curiosity to theirselves waiting till the meal is over.
The table was cleared and Shaina sat under their piercing gazes as she try cooking up believable stories in her head but none seems fore coming there seems to be no excuse or explanation to give to prove her words or explain it
"You really got married?" her father asked starting the interrogation as Shaina sees it as
"You really believe her lies?" Selena asked taking an apple from the center table
"I had Dylan investigate last night and it was all a lie she just said that to make herself feel better after getting dumped" she said, her tone filled with a deride as she refers to her sister
"Is that true?" Mr. Dothads asked again
He has been flustered hearing that his daughter was married but seeing that the stranger husband has some familiarity with Mr. Fisher is like the heavens giving him an opportunity.
The family business has been facing a lot of difficulties with the sales and their shares evaluation is going down day by day, after Selena took over the company has experience lot of cases where buyers complain of their products being unauthentic which has made the company lose about fifty regular customers in the month, if this continue they are likely to close up market.
When Madame Odelia came to him of a marriage arrangement between Selena and Dylan in offer for help he has readily agree since it's a good thing for the company but yesterday's made him think of another alternative.
"I don't think she's able to see such man within the period of two weeks and get married to him, it's not like she's that worth" their mother replied and Selena jeered in support.
"Not worth?" Shaina questioned looking hurt by her mother's words ever since her sister took the CEO position she has always treat her like this, always disdaining at her and calling her names making her feel useless
"You know what? I am married to him and will soon move into his house" she said angrily letting more lies pour out
She has decided to just swallow her pride and forget Selena's nasty words but hearing what her mother said she felt like continuing the drama, besides the looks on both daughter and mother's face was satisfying enough
"Stop with your crap Shaina, you can't deceive with pathetic lies, how on earth will you get married and not move in with him, when exactly did this wedding take place?" she asked both with sarcasm and anxiety
Shaina stood up from her seat and smile getting Selena feeling more irritated, she laugh out seeing the look on Selena's face, it's like she's heard a really bad news
"I was actually worried about letting you all know but I guess it all settled now and I guess I will be moving out soon" she said and pull herself out of the chair
"This is no joke Shaina" her father called
"If something is really going on I need you to tell us so we can decide…"
"Why should I tell you? Selena went and get engaged without telling you she only inform us of her engagement and wedding"
"Are you doing this because of Selena then?" he asked getting upset at her
He had had his hope u but it seems like she's just playing with his intelligence and wasting his time
"Why would I do that? I just felt since Selena surprised us with an engagement news I should also shock everyone with my marriage news" she said giving a coy look
"Stop with the nonsense Shaina!"
"Do you have any idea how lucky you are that news didn't spread about your stupid joke?" he yelled angrily and Shaina flinch a bit
"That is nothing compare to the joke you made of my life" she fired back at them
"first you had Selena educated at the best university then you send her to the best place for her masters and gave her the position of the CEO but I, what did you give me?" she asked feeling the hurt as she speaks
"You gave me nothing I was not offered a job at the company, neither did you support or assist my little business all you wanted is for me to sit down at home and become an old hag" she said her voice becoming louder as her emotion set in
"How dare you raise your voice at your father?" their mother shouted at her but she turn to her to express her mind
"And you mom, you never liked me, every time you support Selena and let her get away with anything while you are harsh to me, what have I ever done to you?"
"Come on Shaina stop spreading your misery no one is responsible for your misfortunes" Selena said getting riled
"I don't think you have the right to speak here you thief!" she fired back at her
"What! How dare you…"
"Shaina watch your language to your sister"
"No I won't, every one of you pretended it's nothing when she took Dylan from me and now you are getting angry for calling her what she is"
"I can't believe you are still mourning over Dylan, I knew you were…"
"You both stop it" their father yell and they both keep quiet with their heated breaths sounding loud
"I'm leaving" Shaina speak up and exit the house in her short night gown and ruffled hairstyle with her slippers following her pace
"I have work in the office" Selena also said and exit the room.
The couple stay silent after the two left the dining table, Dothad hasn't intended the short meeting to be like this but yet again there is no way they can have a peaceful meeting with both girls present, he will just have to call Shaina aside later
"What are you thinking Dothad?" his wife called him back as he made to stand and leave, he sat down back and give a low sigh
"I just wanted to confirm something" he replied
"I don't think that's only it" she said and look at him suspiciously
"Are you trying to discard my daughter and replace her with Shaina? Because the company is facing some difficult time?"
"If she's not capable enough then we need another alternative, the marriage alliance with Kwi Zeen isn't enough for us now if we don't make any positive move on S.V we might end up losing the ownership of the company"
"You should trust your daughter"
"I trusted her enough to put her charge but look what she has done, all these time of you forging good results for her has shown its negative result, I warn you severally not to…"
"No need for blames now, all you need to do is support her not try to replace her" she said and walk out of the room.

The pathway is filled with few people who are on their way to walk while some are students making their way early to school, although her slippers isn't comfortable to roam around the street Shaina keeps on walking to relieve her anger.
Thanks to the breakfast she had she wouldn't have had the energy to walk about early in the morning, the dance class time is one in the afternoon so she has a lot of time before she prepare for the day's work
But somehow she felt like not going back to the house, maybe if she rebels a bit she would be given a chance too just like Selena and also a personal apartment to live
that's what she has envy most of all Selena own a place of her own she has plan to but one ever since Selena got hers but then her work isn't profitable like she wanted it to.
Originally she had planned for a dance academy but as time goes on the rent for the dance hall got raised and she has to let go of things in other to maintain and keep the few students left.
Still walking without any attempt to stop, her legs led her to an alleyway where only few houses who could be seen.
Filled with her different thoughts she didn't notice the silent atmosphere or the shadow following her until she felt her body been overshadowed before she could struggle with whatsoever it is her body gave in to the strong energy and she drift into unconsciousness.
