"Hey, make a wish and blow out the candles!" Suxin finished singing and looked up, seeing Chen Ziqian sitting motionless, just staring at her as if time had frozen.

"Oh." Chen Ziqian shifted his gaze, having completely missed that her birthday song was over.

With a "whoosh," he blew out the candles, and the room was immediately plunged into darkness.

"What's there to wish for? Only little girls believe in that stuff!" Chen Ziqian said as he turned on the light switch, instantly brightening up the room again.

"Then you cut the cake!" Suxin handed him the plastic cake cutter.

Cutting the cake was easy, Chen Ziqian had done it often. As a child, he would invite a bunch of friends over for his birthday, and in no time at all, he had the cake cut.
