BELLADONNA: The Deadly Nightshade

05 – The Culprit

Randall jerked Belle's hand off his shoulder with a growl "Alright!" he exclaimed, raising his hands in a surrendered manner "Yes! It's Sara's, she stopped by and give me this headache! "

Belle snorted and grinned "Douchebag!"

Randall looked at Belle. "She already made doctor appointment; can you give me some cash?" He asked hopefully.

Belle frowned "Why on earth should I give you that fucking money?!" she asked in a high voice. Her head started throbbing, "It's not me who knocked her up!"

Belle got up and hurried back to her room.

"Belle…" Randall hurriedly got up and followed his sister "Lend me some money. I promise, I will give it back within two weeks."

Huh, two weeks, my ass!

"In your dream." Belle said coldly. She took off her sweater and threw it in the laundry basket angrily.

"BELLE!" Randall shouted, stopping Belle who was changing clothes, she looked at her brother and replied, "What?"

"Hear me out." Randall approached his sister with hopeful eyes "I really need it. I promise I won't do this stupid thing again. "

Belle wrinkled her mouth "Do you ever wear condoms? The rubber thing you put it around your ... your ..." Belle pointed frustratedly at Randall's crotch.

"I don't like condoms." Randall whispered.

"And you don't like children either." Belle replied angrily, while pulling a shirt from her closet "Dale, I've had enough."

"So am I." Randall answered as he lay down on Belle's neat bed.

"Oh, no, no, no." Belle went over to him and pulled Randall away from her bed "This is my territory; you sleep on it, you're screwed!"

Randall finally gave up, thinking of obeying his younger sister's wishes. From now on he would be nice so that Belle would help him, he walked into the bathroom without saying anything.

Randall waited, his ears wide open, listening through the bathroom door. He knew Belle's habit, after changing clothes, his sister would come downstairs to wash her clothes in the laundry, and that was his chance.

Her footsteps were echoing in the hallway, followed by the sound of the door closing.

A small smile on Randall's face, he tiptoes out of the bathroom, making sure Belle was really gone. After he was sure that Belle had really left, Randall, who was often called Dale, rushed to check Belle's room.

Starting with his little sister's bag. His hand reached into every bag that was in Belle's bag. He found change and some crumpled one-dollar bills in the front pocket, a wallet containing fifty dollars and an envelope. Dale quickly opened the envelope which turned out to be filled with money, he counted the contents and smiled.

He always knew that Belle had extra money. He immediately put the brown envelope in the pocket of his jeans, along with the crumpled change. With wide strides and quick movements, Dale packed his belongings. He knew that Belle was going to be angry and before his sister kicked him out, he better get going. He finds pizza receipts and writes a short letter to his sister.

Dale was ready with his backpack and was about to leave when he saw a photo of Belle smiling at him. He groaned and reached into his pocket, keeping the crumpled change and dollar bill next to Belle's photo frame. At least he didn't take it all.

And without looking back, Dale walked away from there. Hoping that someday his sister will forgive his actions.

When Belle returns to her flat, she finds something odd.

There's no Dale. Often time, his brother would sit on the sofa, chewing whatever was in the refrigerator while watching TV. But now, there's no Dale anywhere. Even in the bathroom, the last place she had seen her brother. Belle frowned in surprise. It was unusual for Dale to leave when the sun was shining brightly.

Something was up. She can feel in her stomach.

Belle put away her laundry basket and began to look around her flat closely. As she looked at her open bag, her stomach twisted and turned, she screamed and nervously checked the bag.

"Damn, damn it, damn it!!" she screamed in panic, her hands shaking as she opened her bag and saw that the envelope that was supposed to be there had disappeared along with the culprit.

"DALE!!!"
