8 Chapter 8.
Out of smoke came a middle aged man with scars all over his body that could be seen.
He looked at us as he continued to radiate the killing intent and said.
" You have 45 minutes to reach the gates of Forest of death. those who don't reach their in time will disqualified." After which he disappeared along with his Killing intent.
As he left the nerves that were about started to calm, some people even directly sat on the ground taking deep breaths. After few seconds feeling alright we looked at each other nodding we quickly left for forest since this is our village the geographical advantage should be played to the fullest. The problem in this short race is that forest of death is quite far taking and hour to 45 minutes to reach their based on their speed.
Just in 35 minutes we reached the gate as our team is speed based in which i'm responsible speed assault, Miko for quick destruction and helping me retreat and Shin for my retreat and support.
Reaching their we stood on the side waiting for others while we catch our breath, we saw a stand were 2 chunin sat with some scrolls beside them. We got close to ask why are they here, are the scrolls related to the Second part of exams.
They looked at us and said
" wait for others to come, the exam proctor will announce it to you all"
After 10 more minutes everybody came no one who could reach this level can be defeated by this simple game of Race.
Just at this time the murderous aura spread again, Since we were able to handle it first time we didn't feel much discomfort others were nearly the same.
At the front Jonin proctor glanced at us and said.
" This exam is very simple your team will fight against another team. those who win will enter next round."
" The details of the battle will be: you will be allocated a position with a flag inserted in the position you have to defend other party from taking it back to their position. If they took back your flag to their position and placed it beside their flag than your team will be disqualified. Well the rules are simple you guys get ready 1st battle will take place in 10 minutes." he said and left us to do our own preparations.
This means that scrolls chunin held shouldn't be related to the actual exam, they might be our information to pick suitable opponents or like always defaulting Big ninja village teams to finals.
We entered the forest of death following behind Jonin proctor towards the venue for exam. After a few we came to a flat land just outside the Building likely to be the one shown in Anime.
" Your test will be held here. Wait for us to shout your team name to start the round."
After a few minutes a Chunin shouted " 1st match team Sato and team Yun, You each take positions in right and left respectively"
Team is that crazy Grass ninja team against an ordinary looking Sand team. Well there is no suspense in this match as that crazy guy rushed straight without waiting for his other two member and killed all three members of the other side first one being a guy responsible for distracting another who was sneaking and snatching the flag while the last one stood by the position responsible for protecting the flag.
2nd match was against One of the Sand team that were in our real opponent list against an ordinary Rain village of which they killed 1 who was responsible for snatching the flag while the other 2 surrendered before the other side could kill.
We are 3rd and our Fight is against a team from Waterfall village team. In this match i stood by to defend the flag while letting Shin and Miko responsible for snatching.
They completed the task quickly and since waterfall village isn't able to threaten our village even likely to be an ally so they simply defated them and snatched their flag without killing them.
Like this the matches continued till evening when only 6 teams were left while others were either killed or disqualified.
At this time Jonin proctor stood in front of us and said
" You have passed this round and are qualified to continue forward. Follow me."
As he finished he moved towards the building whilst the big door started to open slowly like a demon opening its mouth as we looked inside in the evening it looked particularly dark. Making the atmosphere more creepy and nervous.
Entering the building he took us to the same place where preliminary round happened in the anime, similar to that scene, Hokage stood in front of the statue with prior Jonin proctors and another jonin standing beside him. While our sensei stood on the stands on the sides of hall.
We stood in teams from right to left.
Hokage looked at us and said.
" Congratulations on pasding the first 2 rounds. But do you know why we conduct this Chunin exams and other villages come to participate. It is because this is a demonstration of the power that your ninja village holds. Its like a small war between villages."
He continued " Well now that you know we can continue towards the last round but wait this Jonin here has something to say."
The Jonin standing beside other proctor leaped forward and stood in front of us scanning us he said.
" You guys are eligible to participate in the vinal round. But this time there are more people then we needed for last round. So we discussed with your villages and came up with a preliminary round to reduce the number for convenience."
" Team battles are over now you guys will battle individually showing your talents, to get the approval of your own villages. As you can't just become Chunin by winning the exams you have to show intellect, correct attitude, strength, Leadership to get yourself promoted to the ranks of Chunin"
" Now get ready, the ones whose name will pops on the screen will stay on the spot to battle everyone else can go back to their Sensei." Finishing he turned to look at the screen.
There are only 2 leaf village teams, 2 challenging Sand teams, 1 fierce Grass team, 1 Rain team.
1st match is between 2 nobodies of Rain totally boring match with nothing but 2 ninjutsu and taijutsu.
2nd between Grass and Rain was somewhat similar with one of them using sword.
3rd match is between Leaf B team member and Grass team member which finished quickly as he used only a kunai and a Fire Ninjutsu as support to cover kunai.
4th match is between the girl from Sand and Leaf B team girl which she won using Fan which helped her perform quite powerful Wind Jutsu.
5th match is Shin vs Sand Village which shin won as he quickly perform Shadow bind technique and using another shadow Stitching technique to nearly kill him as he surrendered quickly. Before leaving his Sensei gave Shin a fierce glare while as lazy as he is didn't bother to care.
6th match is Leaf B team leader vs sand village boy which our side lost as other side used ninjutsu 3 times one after other without giving him chance to counterattack and finished by pinning both his shoulder and leg with shuriken.
7th round is between Miko and Sand Girl looking at the big fan behond opponent she knew the only way to quickly defeat her enemy is by close combat as Fire jutsu won't do much against wind user. She directly rushed at the opponent while the other party used wind blades to attack which she dodged sideways and continued forward this happened 1 more time. As she wanted to continue with wind blade technique but because of the fan being too large she wasn't quick and Miko has already reached and placed her Kunai on her neck. Defeating her.
Next round is between me and sand ninja which was easy since i simply created a shadow clone for distraction and body flickered real body to his side killing him before anyone could react.
I calmly returned to the stands beside Sensei, Miko and Shin who gave me a thumbs up for nice nice work.
Last round is between the Fierce grass member and sand village who is not even as good as one Miko fought and this match was easily won by Grass guy but he couldn't kill him as his Sensei was ready since i killed the last one.
At the side I judged this grass guy as already dead since a leaf ninja killing sand ninja is normal cause we both our big villages, but were does a little grass village guy get the courage to try and kill big village ninja.
Now the people qualified are 2 sand, 1 rain, 2 grass, 4 leaf.
" You all are Qualified for next round. You guys practice hard cause many important guest will come to watch your performance. " Hokage came forward and congratulated.
" Ok you can disperse. Last round will be held after one month at the Chunin Stadium." He continued and waved us to disperse.
Bowing to him we quickly got away.
