Journey to the city

"Can't that stupid horse go any faster?" I asked the coachman that I was sitting next to. A few hours ago I had met a merchant group and they were quick to attack me. They thought that I was a bandit and despite not carrying any weapons and not attacking them back they still attacked me. Leaving me with no choice I attacked back but they did not survive my attacks. I only wanted a lift and look what happened. There haste to attack a person for no reason led to their death.

The only person who was left alive was the coachman who was smart enough to not get involved in the fight. It wasn't like he could anyways due to him being so weak.

"I'm afraid it cannot sir, it is only one horse and it is really old. It's actually more impressive that it can even pull the carriage let alone walk." the coachman replied. "Going any faster than it already is, is very detrimental to its health."

I clicked my teeth and slumped back on the chair next to the coachman. At least it beats having to walk. I could fly but I did not want to with all the violent sandstorms that pulled me and sent me flying in another direction.

"You know I'm curious, why is it that your companions attacked me despit being unarmed?" I asked the man. I was curious but I knew that he probably couldn't give me answer since he was not a warrior or a fighter.

The man looked at me before looking forward and then turning back to me and then forward and then towards me.

"Can you just speak?" I said as I spoke in an irritated voice.

"You smell of blood bit that is not the reason, it's because of your pouch... it reeks of evil and a malevolent energy surrounds it. Just looking at it and seeing the darkness surrounding it, it reminds me of the unspoken one."

"The unspoken one..." I asked. I was quite curious.

"Yes, a demon made of hate and superiority, raised like a normal person, born from two loving parents and yet despite that wages war on the aesir..."

"Why are you stopping? Keep going!" I shouted.

"That is all I know of his mythology." he replied. I clicked my teeth and cursed under my breath. Why make someone excited if you were not going to finish them off. (pause.)

I held my pouch in front of me and wondered how it was that the man was able to see a black aura that not even I could see.

I closed my eyes and let go of everything. I needed to find out what this dark energy was.

Eventually I was able to feel it. A malevolent energy that reeked of evil and took my breath away.

I placed my Hyoksi on the pouch and watched as it covered up the dark energy on my pouch. Eventually it was taken care of. My Hyoksi had covered up the dark aura emanating from the pouch.

"Hooman, why is it suddenly more easier to breathe?" Came a voice from the pouch.

"Stop asking questions and just say thank you."

The man beside me jumped in surprise as he was not expecting a voice from pouch.

For the rest of the journey I used my phone to watch movies. The coachman was curious about it and I explained it to him to the best of my ability. It wasn't easy explaining how radio waves, signals and what not worked when I barely knew anything about it.

In the end I just chalked it up to magic to which he believed wholeheartedly without batting an eye.

"This is the furthest south that I go." The coachman said to me. He stopped in the middle of a murram road. "I go in that city over there."

The surrounding had changed and it was no more a desert. The desert had stopped a few kilometres back. The surroundings were now like those in medieval times. Cobblestone and paved streets with the occasional touch of vegetation here and there.

"I have a question... do you know about the Canary family?" I asked the coachman.

"The Canary family, of course I do. Who doesn't know about them. They live in that city over there. Their young miss is severly ill and they have promised to teach whoever heal their young lady their martial arts."

"Is that so?" I asked menacingly as I stroked my beard with several pubes on it. I had already come with a plan. Instead of barging into the family and claiming to be the long lost son of the patriarch, I would heal their young miss, return her and then in exchange learn martial arts. Wow. I was smart. Sometimes my own genius frightens me.

"Change of plans. I will learn martial arts." I said as I slapped the horse on its buttocks resulting in it moving.

"I'm sorry what..."

"Take us to the city." I said.

We reached the city and I got of the carriage.

"Thank you for the lift, in case there are people disturbing you or making attempts on your life, as long as they are not stronger than me then I promise I will take care of them."

"....Thanks..."

"Also I can't pay you anything right now but I promise you if you manage to leave the Deromian wilderness then I promise I will give you an Ape NFT!"

The coachman was confused. "A what?"

"An Ape NFT! NFT stands for non fungible tokens. They hold monetary value like gold or cryptocurrency and are based on blockchain technology!"

I could see that I had confused him even more than he already was. "If you have a board and pen I will be able to explain better."

"No tha k you! Have a good day sir." He said as he left with a confused look on his face.

"Whatever! It's your loss. More for me!" I shouted.

Finally I had arrived. I had arrived in my birthplace. It was Damien's birthplace but since i was Damien then this would be my birthplace.

I needed to rest first and feed Thomas. I just needed to book an inn. I reached into my pocket and brought my hand back out before squatting down on the floor.

"I have no money!" I whispered loudly.
