61 Angry crowd

The meteor lay in my back seat. The heat coming from it was smoldering despite the fact that I had just poured 3 giant 10 litre bottles of water on it. The windows to my car were all open and I was driving a car that was releasing steam from its windows as it moved.

Lots of people honked at me and tried getting my attention as they thought that my car was on fire and I did not know. I ignored all of them and just increased the volume on my car radio.

I made my way to my warehouse and poured water on the meteor. It finally cooled down.

I tried picking it up but it was a bit too heavy for me. It barely reached my knees before I gave up on it. Maybe I should keep it for a few days and use it as a training equipment before selling it.

The meteor was several times the size of a basketball. It was a jagged crooked piece of rock. I used my tentacles as they were stronger and put the meteor in the corner of the room. It was going to stay there as I was going to use it to train my muscles for a few days.

I heard my phone ringing and checked who it was that was calling me. It was Janice, the weird shop owner who was a son-con. (P.S. I don't know what they are called.)

I picked up the phone and heard Janice's voice on the other side. She seemed exasperated and was breathing heavily.

"When is the next resupply?" She asked me.

"Tomorrow." I replied. I had given her my potions on Friday and today was Thursday. "Why do you ask?"

"We need it now!" she said. "There are over a hundred people in the store currently trying to buy your potions."

"That's good, tell them the resupply will be tomorrow."

"I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND just what exactly is going on here. The store is crowded and full to the brim. People are fighting each other just for a spot in line. We need a restock now."

I shook my head at this. As much as I was happy that my potions were sold out I had not made anything up til now. I was going to make more tonight.

"I'm currently in the process of making it." I said to her.

"Your making it now! Will it be ready by tomorrow?"

"Yes it will, in the meanwhile tell them that the restock is tomorrow." As soon as I said that I heard a crashing sound and a whimper.

"I don't think that is an option." she whispered quietly.

I grumbled under my breath a few curse words before speaking to her. "Tell them that the restock is on its way."

I could hear the excitement in her voice. "Are you for real?" She asked.

"Yes!" I replied. A supply was going to be delivered, just not the one they expected. A supply of common courtesy brought to them by 12 meaty tentacles.

I got in my car and left. It took me 15 minutes to get to the store as there was no traffic.

The store was packed. It reminded me of how big stores were during black Friday. I was not expecting this at all. Just what exactly had happened. There was around 100 people in and outside the shop. Shouting and loud noises filled the small store as if it was a zoo.

I pushed my way in through the crowd until finally I managed to make it to the front. The store was empty. The displays that had been filled with potions were empty.

I did not see the Janice, her son or the receptionist. I headed upstairs which was also filled with people. I entered the office of Janice and inside it was her son, the receptionist and herself. As soon as Janice saw me she rushed over and smiled.

"Did you bring the resupply?" she asked me.

"No" I replied. I could see her smile slowly turn into a frown.

"But you said that you would bring it...."

"Yes tomorrow, in the meantime you are going to need to deal with these customers."

Janice ruffled her hair and shook her head. "They are customers, the only way to deal with them is to give them what they came for."

"Don't be stupid, if you let your own customers push you around like this how are you going to conduct business? The customers need to learn how to act as customers and not as hooligans and thugs. We just need to tell them that the restocking is tomorrow."

Janice's face turned from a frown to a 'I can't believe the nonsense you just spouted' face.

"Are you out of your mind? Those people are going to get violent, they will harm us or damage the store."

I face palmed my hand and asked them to follow me. They followed me as I left the office and went downstairs.

"Excuse me! Everyone! Let me have your attention for a moment. Everyone!" My loud voice cut through everything. It cut through the angry shouts and even the noises of the people fighting outside.

"Everyone, as you can see we have run out of stock. The resupply will happen tomorrow." Immediately there were loud groans and shouts of anger. Some people even voiced their opinions.

"That's some bullshit!"

"I've been here for a long time!"

"I need to go on an expedition and I need a nerves of steel potion!"

"We know you got some in the back!"

People started throwing stuff at me. Whether it was their smelly shoes, rocks or even tomatoes I dodged them all.

"Ok, everyone calm down. I know that you are all frustrated- Can you stop throwing objects at me? Guys... guys... STOP IT YOU FUCKING DICKHEADS!" My voice was even louder than before and 2 of my tentacles sprouted from my back. Immediately everyone stopped shouting and throwing objects.

"LISTEN, IF YOU COME HERE AND WE HAVE RUN OUT OF STOCK AND YOU ARE TOLD WE ARE OUT OF STOCK, THEN THAT MEANS WE ARE OUT OF STOCK! WE DO NOT HAVE SUPPLIES IN THE BACK! IF ANY OF YOU IDIOTS TRY ANYTHING STUPID, THEN YOU WILL BE BANNED FROM THIS STORE FOREVER. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Now all of you GET THE FUCK OUT!"
