Chapter 6: Elite Monsters
I initially didn't want to level up because I could get bonus in exp if I had higher level differences with the goblins. But I lacked healing potions to restore my health back to full. As I didn't want to waste my time by waiting for it to reach full health as the other statues might lit up any moment now. So, I used them to level up.

I now had four free points. I didn't use them instantly instead I wanted to keep them for now. I will use them depending upon the fight.
Then I headed towards the 2nd statue. This time something strange happened. The 2nd statue had lit up and it wasn't any surprise as it was within my consideration. But there was timer on each of the remaining statues with 1 min gap. The 3rd statue had timer of 1min, 4th had of 2 mins and the last one had of 5th minute. I could guess what it meant. I had to finish each monster within a minute if I didn't want to face them together which I definitely didn't want to see.
Wrurm Goblin (level-12) (Rare)

This was the monster I had seen with MP. MP probably meant mana points or magic points which was needed to chant spell or do magics. I thought. But it was at the same level as the Chilly Goblin. And it had MP, which meant it might be a mage type monster. As I guessed, it took out a meter long staff and started chanting. I didn't even look at me and already started chanting. How impatient. I thought. I came at its door for the first time and here it was not even looking at me.
I wanted to stop it from casting its spell. But I didn't have enough time as it finished mumbling and waved the staff in front of me. I instantly felt hot. So, it must be fire-related spell. As I thought, fireballs rained at me. It covered a radius of 50 cm. I tried to dodge them as much as I could. But 2 fireballs still hit me.

They rained for 2 whole seconds. When the spell finished, it was already beginning to chant another spell. These 2 hits already took nearly a quarter of my health (full health at 910=740 at level 6, 100 due to level up, 70 due to equipment)
I didn't want to be heated by such attacks second time. So, I jumped at it with my sword, The Stake, and threw consecutive slashes. They also interrupted its spell casting.

I overwhelmed it with my attacks. I didn't give it any chances to retaliate. I slashed, chopped and slashed. When the countdown reached 40 seconds, it had only 230 HP remaining. I didn't manage 10 continuous combos this time. I was extremely disappointed at this. The boost in damage due to 10 continuous hits was really awesome.
I finished it next moment and the 3rd statue still had 19 seconds left. But it lit up next second and a monster lunged at me. I didn't even have a time to look at the system announcement as it was rushing towards me with its red glowing eyes. It didn't look like a goblin as it was 4 legged. Its physical structure resembled a wolf while only its skin color was similar to goblins.
4-Legged Feca (Mixed species) (Elite) (Level 13)

It looked extremely fierce and agile. I could see that it was as nearly fast as me. So, I instructed the system to distribute my 4 free points to agile as I didn't have enough time to manually do it myself. Fortunately, the system could do it. With this, my agility finally reached 26. When it reached 26, I could feel as if I was released from shackles. I realized that 25 points meant next level for agility. I was glad that it happened. I now felt extremely confident in facing the mixed species.
Feca had already closed in on me. When it was 2 m in front of me, it howled at me. I wanted to dodge it but before I knew it, it had already hit me. I suffered -60 damage by it. It then jumped at me baring its sharp claws. I deflected it to my right and countered at its neck with a chop.

I was glad that my first hit was critical. I wanted to land a second blow and then 3rd blow and then overwhelm it but it recovered instantly and backed down next moment. This time it didn't jump at me but instead rotated me at a distance of about 1 meter. I was afraid that it had other skills or it would be bad if its skill howling skill was again ready to use. As I thought, its innate Wind Howling finished its cooldown time and it attacked me with it. This time I was prepared. Though the attack was instant, I knew that it would use this attack and jumped to the right.
I rushed towards it after dodging the wind blow, this time fully focused to overwhelm it. So, I threw slashes only this time. I didn't bother to chop it. I just danced around it with my continuous slashes.

(inclined slash means angled slash. Horizontal and vertical slash mean as they sound. Inclined slash means the slash making at certain angle with horizontal.)
I had thought about it during my fight. I thought that it could deal more damage than the normal slashes and chop. And as I thought, it didn't disappoint me.
I overwhelmed it this way. I danced around it and attacked all over its body to restrict any movement it could make. I was learning many things at a very faster rate about fights now. I was starting to gain confidence a mc with a system would have.
I didn't know exactly how much time had passed this time. I saw that 4th statue still had 33s and the 5th had 1 min 33 second remaining. Fortunately, they didn't lit up instantly this time. I looked up to see how much exp I had gained.

I had 1800 exp right now in total. But I needed 3,000 exp to level up. I had lost 260 HP already and I still had to face 2 monsters and a boss of the dungeon. I didn't know if I could with the little HP I have remaining right now. I still had 15 seconds remaining before the 4th statue lit up. I would have been glad if it also lit up now so that I could get more time for the 5th statue. But it didn't happen. So, I focused on the loots. The Elite goblin had dropped a orange core, 2 rare items and Wrurm had dropped only common items. I didn't have time to see what they were as the 4th statue lit up and a 3 m tall goblin with a bow came into light.
Elite Euntroff (Elite) (Level-13)

It was huge and its bow was pretty intimidating. From the way, it distanced itself, I knew that it was proficient in long combat range. I wanted to close in on it. Before I could, it rained down a bunch of arrows before me as if warning not to close in.
I obviously didn't heed its warning. I didn't want to keep dodging the arrows and slip away the little HP I had. From its previous attack, I discovered that it could attack with 6 arrows at a time and it needed a reloading time of 2 seconds.
It attacked me again with the rains of arrows. But they looked different this time. They carried more force as it was making dangerous sound as they came cutting down the air.

I knew that it had thrown a skill this time. They not only looked more lethal; they were also more accurate this time. I had a harder time dodging them this time. But I still did my best to dodge them. When i dodged all the arrows and its bow was reloading, I knew that this was my time. I wanted to close in on the 2s reloading time it had, but it seemed that I miscalculated something this time.
