Part 7

I had my hands over my mouth trying not to scream.

" But, he was just in the cell with me. How was he taken and beaten up like this this quick?" I thought to myself.

" Please, why are you doing this? Let him go", I said trying sound a bit fearless.

I was very much afraid, on the contrary. I really had underestimated the general. I thought he was finally going to leave me alone, but I was so wrong. All this while, he had been planning on how to get back at me.

" You decided to go against me. So this is what you get. This will be your punishment", he shouted and pointed at Sebastian who was still hanging with his arms wrapped in chains.

The smell of blood and the sight before me was beginning to make me sick. I have seen blood before but not like this. There was blood dripping everywhere. Sebastian looked very weak.  He could barely keep his eyes open.

I slowly moved towards him and held his face when I was close enough to touch him.

"Seb, Seb, can you hear me? Please open your eyes, okay?" I said softly

Sebastian slowly but painfully opened his eyes and looked at me. " David?"

" Yes, Seb. I'm here. I'm going to get you out of here. Everything will be fine". I tried to sound as confidently as I could. He had wounds all over his body. " How long have they been beating him?" I asked myself.

Sebastian began to speak again. " David, you have to leave. I... I can't let you stay here. You have to go... "

His voice was barely audible. He was very weak and yet he was still trying to protect me.

" I can't leave you. If I leave here, then you will have to come with me. I can't leave you", I began to shake my head.

I began to quietly sob. My heart was breaking into two. I could not handle what was going on. I felt like I was going crazy. So, I did the most rational thing I felt, at that moment.

I turned to General, looking so angry and afraid at the same time. " What do you want from me?" I asked him

An evil smile crept across his face which sent chills down my spine. He walked towards me and was very close to me. The General was some inches taller than I was so I had to look up at him. I also had to hide my fear.

" I want you, to be mine. I want you by my side, gracing my bed every night", he replied with that creepy smile still on his face.

"No! No, David, don't agree to this. He only wants to hurt you. He will never leave you alone", Sebastian suddenly shouted.

I was shocked. If I agree to this, then that means, that night will continue. No, I can't do it, I just can't.

" No, I will not let you touch me again", I said defiantly

" Then, that means I will have to kill him", General said and took out his gun from behind him.

He got it ready and aimed straight at Sebastian.

" Kill me, kill me you monster. I would rather die than let you do to him, what you did to me. I SAID KILL ME!" Sebastian was shouting like a mad man now.

Seeing the gun made me realise how serious the situation was getting. Sebastian's screams was not helping me either. I could not move. I had my mouth opened wide in shock. Everything was just going wrong. Suddenly I felt like something was pulling me to the ground. I knelt on the ground and began begging general.

" Please, please don't listen to him. Don't hurt him, I will do anything".

" Anything, you say?" General calmly asked, while looking at me.

" Yes, I will do anything. Please, don't do anything to him. I accept your offer", I continued to plead with him.

" No, Dave. Please don't. Don't do this. He will hurt you. He will destroy you. Don't accept it", Sebastian kept screaming on top of his voice.

Hearing him tremble in anger and fear was destroying me more than he could imagine. I knew accepting General's offer meant suicide, but, I needed to save Sebastian. I could not watch him die. I can't watch him die.

" Please, let him go. Don't hurt him anymore", I pleaded once again.

General seemed to be softened by this. He pulled me towards him and hugged me. Then I felt his breath on my neck. I felt disgusted and tried to push him away. But, he was much stronger.

" Come, let's leave this place. I will take care of you from now on", he said and began to pull me away from Sebastian.

His men, who were still in the room with us, were standing behind Sebastian. I felt sick all of a sudden. I no longer had any strength in me. All I could do was cry. When we walked a bit further from Sebastian and the two officers, I heard a gun shot.

The sound had me frozen in place. Then, slowly I turned. That was when I saw one of the officers putting the gun he was holding, behind him. I got away from the general and ran towards Sebastian. I did not want to believe what had happened.

When I got to him, I saw the blood running down from his chest. I gasped in sadness. No, this is not happening. I held his face and began to cry.

"No, no... Seb. Sebastian please, talk to me. Please, say something. Please," I begged him.

" Dave", Sebastian said softly

" Please, Seb. Don't talk too much okay? You are already loosing blood", I tried to say calmly.

I had tears on my face which would not stop flowing. " David, listen to me... " he began to cough up blood

"...listen to me. You have to stay strong. Fight and never loose hope. Don't ever let that man win. Promise me, David", he continued.

" I promise. But please, stay with me for a while okay? I will get you out of here", I said

" Thank you", he lightly smiled and closed his eyes.

" Sebastian, please. Please, open your eyes. I beg you. Please", I began to cry.

" He had to go. It was all for your own good", General said.

I turned and faced him with anger in my eyes. " My own good, how is this for my own good? You killed him. You are a monster. I hate you. I hate you!" I shouted and cried. I sat on the floor and cried some more.

General knelt in front of me. " You can hate me for all I care. But, this time, you will be mine and no one will get in the way".

I suddenly got up and started hitting him. " I won't forgive you. I will never forgive you for this", I said.

I felt a hand on my nose and mouth then I blacked out, the last thing I saw being that evil smirk on General's face.
