As the Chairman made her way out of the office with her pet, she glanced at the limited edition diamond Rolex on her wrist and noticed there were only ten minutes left before the meeting commenced.
Cheryl took her tablet and, with a guard following behind, made her way to the conference room using the staff elevator just as the Chairman exited her office and headed toward her private elevator with her pet.
Getting to the conference room, the whispers from inside died down.
Everyone was shocked when they saw the person in front of them. They couldn't believe that the ruthless Chairman of Makdews Corporation was a woman who had walked in with her pet.
They were even more shocked by the pet beside her, wondering why the Chairman had a Samoyed dog with her.
"Get to it," Emris instructed, her gentle gaze sweeping over the people in front of her as she sat in her designated seat.
Stephen Rawlings, a man in his late 50s, was the first to give his presentation. "Chairman Ems, after much consideration, I suggest we use rare diamonds for the end-of-year design launch...."
Emris didn't respond; she simply raised her eyebrows and looked at him coldly, waiting for him to finish speaking.
The strong sense of oppression made Stephen Rawlings catch his breath. Although the person in front of him was just a woman, why did she exude such a cold aura? A single look from her made him fearful, but he continued with indifference, giving reasons for his decisions.
After all, no one knew what the Chairman was like in person, but the CEO had warned them not to make any mistakes during the presentation, as the Chairman hated vagueness. However, seeing the person in front of him, he thought everything they had been told about the Chairman was just rumors and nothing more.
The thoughts of the people in the conference room were dismissive: 'After all, she's just a woman. What else can she do besides running to her father when things don't sit well with her?'
Seeing how he answered the Chairman, Cheryl wanted to remind him of his actions but was interrupted when the others presented their product proposal with the same attitude Stephen Rawlings had displayed.
Cheryl could guess why they didn't follow instructions. They saw that the Chairman was a woman and assumed the rumors about her were just that—rumors. If only they knew they had just dug their own graves.
"It looks like the CEO didn't brief you properly. That's why you have the guts to behave like a bunch of idiots." Emris's tone was strong and dominant, completely different from her gentle appearance.
They all froze when they noticed her nice, gentle eyes turn cold and hard as ice chips.
"The product used last year was rare diamonds, and the previous year it was rubies. Do you expect the company to present a design with the same materials?" Emris's words were accompanied by a chilling indifference.
Frustrated by the people in front of her, she couldn't control her anger any longer and slammed her hands on the table. "What kind of incompetent fools did you hire in my company, Cale Hunt?"
Being called by his full name by the Chairman, Cale knew they were all doomed.
Cold sweat broke out on their foreheads when they saw what the Chairman had just done, and they all trembled in fear.
Emris scanned the room and spoke in an icy tone. "It's been three months, and you can't hand in a single usable product plan for the end-of-year launch. Do you think I'm paying you to idle around?"
Shaking in their boots, they all hung their heads to avoid her piercing gaze. Now they knew what the CEO had told them was true and not just rumors. Their Chairman's temper was terrible, and they had just provoked her with their flimsy presentation. They didn't even dare to breathe loudly.
Therefore, someone gave Cale a nervous, pleading look.
Cale has been with Makdews Corporation since its inception. Despite not being the most easygoing person, his colleagues knew the Chairman valued his opinions.
Cale spoke up and broke the chilling silence.
"Chairman Ems, why don't you give them a week's grace period to come up with a solid product idea?"
Emris' lips curved slightly in a meaningful arc of indifference as her dark eyes swept from the CEO to the people before her. Her voice, as cold as ever, cut through the tension. 'You have two days. If you can't present a product for the year-end launch by then, you can forget about working for this company, or anywhere in this country."
As soon as she finished speaking, a chilling draft descended from above her head, causing everyone to shiver.
"The meeting is adjourned." She left the room with her pet, Cheryl following closely behind.
As soon as she exited the room, they fell silent, each one drenched in sweat.
"What was that about?" questioned Cale Hunt, the CEO.
They all anticipated the CEO's reprimand, yet it beat suffocating under the Chairman's aura.
"We thought as she was a lady..."
The CEO couldn't believe his ears. These incompetent workers were only digging their own graves. His anger flared as he interrupted them.
"You f**king thought!!! You all would've lost your jobs if not for the two-day grace period. The Chairman detests vagueness and tardiness. How many times do I have to emphasize that she demands perfection in everything we do? That's why we've been relying on Hal for our designs. By combining our high-quality materials with Hal's craftsmanship, our products consistently stand out and draw attention at every launch."
"You all had better come up with a better proposal, or else you'll be dancing to the chairman's tune."
That was his final warning before he exited the room.

Entering the office with her assistant following closely behind, Emris headed towards her desk, briefly glancing through some random documents.
"Call the CEO over." Emris instructed
"Yes, Ma'am," Cheryl hurriedly left the room. She knew the Chairman was already in a foul mood, and the incident in the conference room had only added to her irritation.
