Chapter 1

"kill it, just kill it you wimp" Jake said to me as the monster advanced towards me.

I Know Jake was screaming at me out of concern, but this is my first time killing someone or rather something.

Shaking I raised the piece of wood in my right hand ready to strike at it, but it was faster, it tackled me to the ground, teeth seethed at me ready for it's next food. The only thing keeping it from biting me is the piece of wood that is now a defensive shield. Struggling to keep the wood between the monster's teeth, I knew that this was it. The moment I die. Then I heard a piercing sound followed by blood splattering on my face.

"I told you to kill it" Jake said with a worried tone

"Take it off me" I said urgently to Jake

"All right, alright" he said as he helped me remove the now still zombie.

But then, more appeared

"They never end. Let's go !"

10 hours ago********

The bus was filled with laughter and cheers as we made our way to bluefield

it's our last year as high schoolers and this was also our last school trip.

I considered this school trip a way to take my mind of the stress and anxiety that comes with being a senior.

We were on our school uniform even though it was a picnic trip to the legendary Bluefield, the most beautiful place in Idle Isle.

Bluefield, located right at the middle of Idle Isle, according to it's name, was a place of the 'blues' as my best friend Jake would call it. From it's big blue ocean, to the blue fields.... literally....was a sight for sore eyes.

I've never been there though, but for those that had visited, they could never keep their mouth shut about the beautiful sceneries, and all beautiful things their eyes beheld. Can't believe we're going there with school uniforms on

"Hey, what are thinking about?" Ivy, my childhood friend asked

We were literally siblings at point...so she thought

"nothing much, just thinking about what cut I should give you for loosing the bet, maybe a skin cut?" I said mockingly, then she frowned and threw a handful of popcorn at me. Then she turned and resumed talking to her friend

"So when are you going to tell her?" Jake asked

"Tell her what?" I asked like I had no idea what he's talking about

"Dude, I know, alright. We are seniors, if you don't tell her now, when else?"

"I still don't know what you're talking about" I said then immediately put my headphones on.

Traffic jams were very rare in Idle isle, it took an accident or dispute between drivers to cause traffic jams. And right now, we were stuck in what seems like a never ending traffic. My guess is the latter.

My homeroom teacher said something, but it was muffled due to my headphones.

She repeated, this time I heard as I had already unplugged the headphone

"Everyone listen up!" miss Mabel, our homeroom teacher who was accompanying us said as she tried to get everyone's attention.

"We will be running late due to the unexpected traffic, but I want you all to know that today's gonna be one of the most eventful day of your lives" she said as she flashed us one of those her million dollar smile.

Ms. Mabel is a young gorgeous lady, who majored in education at idle isle university. she graduated with a first class degree, she could easily become a professor or something, but she chose to work at a high school

"Hey, have you done your chemistry assignment?, it's due tomorrow" Jake asked

"Of course, I have" I answered the most obvious question

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a straight A student or something like that, I'm more in the average zone, you get me?

"Then let me copy it once we get back"

"Do it yourself" I said to him even though I was going to give it to him in the end.

"The deadline is tomorrow, I would be too tired after this trip, so I can't research" Jake said.

But it's Jake, he wasn't going to do the assignment himself, trip or not.

I just rolled my eyes and looked ahead, my eyes caught sight of Ivy. Ivy Kristen, my first crush/ First love. Corny right?. But it's true, I've liked her since forever.

We've been together for as long as I can remember. We live really close to each other, our houses just across from one another. We've done everything together up until this point. I know a lot about her....maybe a little too much, but so does she.

And I also know that she's had a crush on Jake since forever.

She's always asking about what Jake thinks of her?, what he thought about her new hairstyle?, if he notices her? she talks on and on about Jake. It never ends. I get angry and yell at her sometimes, that if she really likes him, she would tell him. But who am I to talk. look at me. Such a hypocrite.

I heaved a big sigh at the thought of my failure of a love life.

"You know, you're going to burn a hole on her head if you don't stop staring at her that way. It's making me uncomfortable" Jake shivered mockingly.

"I think you're going to burn a hole in my head first, with the way you keep staring at me. That's why people think we're going out"

"And what wrong with that?" Jake said smiling...too sweetly.

Then I faked a gag.

Just then, we heard a loud scream, followed by people frantically getting out of their car and running. It was a confusing and chaotic situation because people were running in different directions, left, right, backwards and forward

"Everyone remain in the bus, I'm going to go check what's happening" ms. Mabel said.

She opened the door and quietly locked it back . Just then, someone rammed into her and the force sent her to the ground.

ouch

She stood up and grabbed the person by the collar and they both started talking frantically. her eyes widen and she let go of her captive who scurried away.

She entered the bus with bloody arms.

"Guys, I need you to get out of the bus, and run as fast at you can, run in groups of at least two, and don't leave anyone behind" she said worriedly.

"Teacher, what's going on?" A student asked

"The zombies are attacking.... again".

Zombies.

Again.

This is the second outbreak of zombies in Idle Isle.

It first happened thirty years ago, way before I was born.

Our parents told us about a zombie apocalypse which at first everyone thought was a rabies pandemic, but it wasn't. A lot of people died back then. It was recorded in the history book of Idle Isle. we've been told stories of the zombies by parents, teachers, old people and everyone who survived the first zombie attack in Idle isle. Now, that idle isle is finally recovering after the 'big hit', they show up yet again.

History said they were all burned, they all burned to death, so how is it that they're back?
