Chapter 131 Into The Phoenix Chamber Part 11

In front of the five Tanzanies are two high mountains connected by a rocky curved platform. Black mist shrouded, surrounded by a large area of dark gray trees. 

It seemed that the black mist inside could not escape from the opening arc, but the dark gray color of the world beyond the opening arc sent chills down the backs of the five Tanzanies. 

As the five Tanzanies approached the gate, they smelled the stench of rotting flesh. Although the smell was not strong, it was enough to show that the place they were about to enter was indeed a dangerous place. 

Hajime tried to summon his two eagles, but failed, so he decided to summon his black hawk to scout forward. The black hawk flew into the gate of Scattered Forest. 

Abrafo, who was in the lead, turned to face the five Tanzanies. "Remember what we talked about," Abrafo said. "Staying alive is our main goal." He exhaled deeply. "Here we go." 

The five Tanzanies entered Scattered Forest. Abrafo led the way, U-ri followed closely behind, Hajime walked on the left of U-ri, Michio walked on the right of U-ri, and Yul followed behind U-ri. 

U-ri asked, "Abrafo, are you sure this is a good formation?" 

"This is the best formation we have. We protect you from every side," Abrafo said. 

They walked for another full half hour when Abrafo suddenly stopped. "Shit..." he frowned. "Yul, our formation no longer works." He stared at the dense forest filled with tall trees less than fifty feet away. 

Yul stepped forward and stared at the forest for a moment. "This place... the fog is so thick; we can easily get lost." 

"Getting lost in this forest is a death sentence," Abrafo said. 

Yul said, "Everyone needs to be careful." He turned to Hajime. "Mark our exit." 

Hajime quickly rubbed the fingers of his right hand, and a small butterfly appeared on his palm. He peeled the butterfly off and stuck the glowing butterfly to the tree next to him. 

Hajime said, "It's done. I've marked our way out." 

When the participants entered Scattered Forest, every man was for themselves. Those in groups rushed through the forest, leaving their teammates behind. 

Abrafo said, "I guess this is the real Scattered Forest. Everyone is scattered everywhere." 

Yul said, "Let's find that Phoenix Chamber entrance quickly." 

"This way, Han," Hai said, leading Bong towards the five Tanzanies. 

Abrafo grabbed Bong's hand and Bong tried to break free, but Abrafo tightened his grip. "I know you hate me and don't want to talk to me, but if you can't find the entrance to the Phoenix Chamber, just look in the direction of the glowing butterflies." 

"Get your dirty hand off me," Bong said angrily, pulling his hand away from Abrafo. "I can help myself; I don't need your help." He said irritably as he chased after Hai. 

Michio said, "At this time, do you still want to be friends with him? He doesn't appreciate your kindness at all." 

Abrafo said, "This is the last kindness I showed to that bastard. Anyway, sooner or later we will have to fight for that pure phoenix egg." 

Hajime said, "I wonder what the black hawk will find." 

U-ri said, "Hajime why don't you summon your eagle? It will be safer for us to fly to the Phoenix Chamber than walk there." 

Hajime said, "I tried and..." 

Michio looked at Hajime and asked, "And what?" 

Hajime said, "But my eagle refused to summon themselves. So, I summoned the hawk." 

Abrafo turned around and said, "Hmm... I wonder why?" 

Yul said, "The Phoenix is one of the five mythical legendary creatures who rule the sky. Any weaker creature will be afraid of sharing the same sky with them. Maybe that's why Hajime's eagles refused to summon themselves." 

U-ri said, "That's very correct. Why would an ordinary bird offend a legendary beast?" 

A man bumped into Abrafo, knocking him to the ground. 

"What's wrong with you?" Abrafo pushed the man aside and slowly stood up, but the man continued to run towards the exit of Scattered Forest. 

Yul saw the blood on Abrafo's chest and asked, "Are you hurt?" 

Abrafo said, "No." 

Yul said, "There is blood on you." 

Abrafo lowered his head and said, "It's not mine." 

Michio looked at the fleeing man. "Could it be his?" 

Suddenly, someone jumps out from behind a tree and grabbed the man who was fleeing the five Tanzanies. 

The unknown man wearing shabby and dirty clothes began to grab the man's head and forcefully smashed the man's head to the ground. 

The man lying in the ground turned to look at the five Tanzanies, stretched out his hand and called to them, with blood streaming from the corner of his mouth. 

The man in dirty clothes who was sitting on the injured man's abdomen dug his claws into the injured man's abdomen. As the man screamed in pain, the man in dirty clothes plunged into the injured man's abdomen. The man in dirty clothes took out the intestines from the deceased's dissected abdomen and began to eat them. 

"What the hack!" Abrafo's trembling voice sounded. 

U-ri said with a trembling voice, "Lady Lai failed to mention this to us." 

The man in dirty clothes slowly turned his head and looked at the five Tanzanies clasped a long colon in his hands. His bloodshot eyes stared unblinking at the five Tanzanies. The rotten man who lost half of his face slowly stood up and roared at the five Tanzanies who were only a few feet away from him. 

The sound of noisy footsteps and rustling leaves echoed throughout the valley. 

Abrafo jumped forward and thrust his sword into the dirty man's chest, but the man continued to push his body forward. 

"Try to chop off his head!" U-ri shouted. 

Abrafo quickly retreated, slashed the dirty man's neck with his sword, and cut off his head. The body fell to the ground, but the sound of running footsteps became louder and louder. 

"We need to find that entrance as soon as possible," Yul said, walking forward, while the other three quickly followed Yul. 

Abrafo walked slowly backwards, making sure no one attacked them from behind. He said, "I agree." Just as Abrafo was about to turn around, he saw the man who had just been killed slowly stand up. "What the hell...! Yul...!" Yul stopped, and so did the other three. "The dead man is alive again." 

The deceased walked slowly and unsteadily towards five the Tanzanies. 

"Abrafo! Let's go!" Michio shouted. 

Loud footsteps came straight towards Bong and Hai. Judging from Hai's expression, Bong knew that whatever was running towards them was not good. 

Hai saw a big tree and said, "Hurry up that tree and hide out of sight. They are coming." 

Bong asked, "Who is coming?" 

Hai dropped his bags on the ground, threw a rope to the branch, and handed the other end of the rope to Bong. "The dead are coming, pull me up first, and then I'll pull you up." 

Bong was confused. "The dead? What do you mean?" Bong asked, grabbed the other end of the rope. 

Hai panicky said, "There's no time to explain now. Let's escape from this wave first. I'll tell you later. Pull me up." 

Bong quickly pulled the rope and Hai slowly stood on the branch. Hai turned around and started to pull Bong to the branch, when a dead man rushed forward and grabbed Bong's shoulders. The dead man sat on Bong's abdomen and pinned Bong to ground. Bong reached out and tried to grab his sword while trying to protect himself from the dead's bites. 

"Help!" Bong screamed. "Help me!" 

Hai stood on a branch, looking down at Bong, who was screaming for help, and at the same time stretched out his hand for his sword. Then Hai saw many dead men rushing towards them. 

Hai whispered while his lips trembling, "I'm sorry, man..." He quickly leaned against the tree and breathed as shallowly as possible so as not to attract the incoming dead. 

Gang, Gang's four men, and the ten participants who had been following Lixin and the others didn't know what was going on. One of them walked up to Lixin and asked, "Lord Lixin, who made those running sounds?" 

Jin said, "Dead men." 

"Dead men? Who and what are they?" 

"What shall we do...." 

"How could a dead person make such a sound?" asked a first-time participant. 

Heng rushed towards Lixin and said breathlessly, "My Lord... dead men are coming our way." 

Lixin frowned madly, "Some idiots actually woke up the dead men." He drew his sword. "Don't get eaten alive." He turned around and swung his sword at a jumping dead man, cutting off his head.

Now, his life is threatened, so he decides to leave Scattered Forest with his men. 

Gang said, "Let's leave now." 

Lixin looked at Gang and said, "Your Highness, it is too late now. Since dead men has awakened, the risk of leaving Scattered Forest is the same as finding the entrance to Phoenix Chamber." 

Shi said, "Your Highness, believe in our Lord. We still have two full hours to find the entrance to the Phoenix Chamber, but if Your Highness walks back and is surrounded by dead men, Your Highness's chance of survival is less than if Your Highness goes forward to find the entrance of the Phoenix Chamber with us." 

The sound of scraping branches and rustling leaves grew closer, and the dead began to rush out of the trees. More sounds of running footsteps, roars, and growls are approaching the participants. 

Jin unsheathed his sword and shouted, "If you want to live, chop off the head." 

Gang, Gang's four men, and the ten participants of men and women unsheathed their weapon in preparation ready to attack anything that jumped at them. They waited in horror, weapons clasped in trembling hands, silently waiting for the dead to approach, the growling, snarling, and running sounds growing louder and heading straight for them.
