Decisions

I know Noir asked to be alone with Triaa and her parents but I still feel like I'm being a great deal of disservice right now.

Once we returned to the village, Noir and Triaa's parents were taken to Macario and Thyra; the father for healing and rest and the mother for cleaning, cleansing and to be prepped for a proper departure.

Noir and Triaa stayed by their side and were accompanied by Shiloh and Evenora.

Gavrill, Nebo and I stepped into a secluded wooded area.

"We need to do something, bróðir. Calder has attacked twice and in the same day no less. He killed Casimir and two of your wolves and in the same go, later attacked you and Noir," Gavrill said, standing with crossed arms.

"He's right, Alpha. Not only did he do this but he then proceeded to bring the girl's parents onto our territory just to kill their mother and fight their father, knowing it would cause a loud enough commotion," Nebo spoke up, leaning against a tree.

"Killing their mother and disposing of her body the way he did wasn't at all careless. It was a warning, a threat. He knew she would be found by either Noir or Triaa. Not only is he provoking, he is also threatening," Gavrill finished, following Nebo's previous action.

"What they speak of is the truth. If it was a simple execution, why not do it in the confines of his own pack? Why bring them here," Rune said, Hael agreeing.

They all have a valid point.

I thought about it for a moment, playing all possible scenarios but nothing else came to mind. Looking at Nebo and Gavrill, I could feel Hael push through.

"Summon the war council. We are going to end this."

Both men straightened themselves and nodded before disbanding.

We are going to end this.

***

Sitting at the end of a long table, I stared down it's center. On each side, every team captain sat.

Gavrill oversaw two fractions: the archers led by the elf, Gaelin and the south end's brute strength led by the orc, Birger.

I first spotted Herlief.

A strong warrior, great tracker but he was most redoubtable as the Spymaster. Herlief and his small group of intelligencers along with Evenora's powers, were astounding and slightly unnerving.

Beside him was Gaelin, an elf.

Gaelin's small force dealt with long range weaponry, mostly bows. Much like Herlief, stealth was a key ally to the archers.

Next was Birger, an orc.

His group was a mixed race of warriors ranging from other orcs to basilisks, centaurs and vilas. They were the front line alongside the wolves and other lycans.

After Birger was Eira, a gahe.

Her group didn't fight in battles but healed those who were wounded to the best of their abilities.

Next was Nebo, Cuyler and Valenner, my Beta, Delta and Gamma.

They were in charge of training each group, both in long range and hand on hand combat, amongst other things.

Then there was Hillevi, captain of the shapeshifters.

They were an elite group that could not only transform into different animals but different humans as well. Perfect for going in and out of enemy territory undetected.

Last but least, Rada and Olufemi.

Both covens played a major part— The Lunar Circle specialized in defensive magic and was led by Rada. The Coven of the Raven was offensive mages, led by Olufemi.

Looking at each and every captain along with my top three of command and my brother, I stood, slamming both hands down on the table. The captains silenced themselves and focused on the task at hand.

The anger I felt hissed through my body like deadly poison, screeching a demanded release from Calder's actions and advances. It was like mage-fire erupting; fury swept off me like ferocious waves. The wrath was engulfing my moralities and was going to destroy boundaries.

"The time for complacency is over. For too long have I allowed Calder to invade and disrespect my territory on top of clear and blatant attacks against my mate. We will not seek war but any and all outsiders who breach my boarders will be met with harsh retaliation. Mark my words and mark them well: should you or any beneath you encounter outsiders, it will be their life or your passing into Valhalla. Should any disregard this decree, let it be known that Helheim awaits," I boomed, my lips curling, exposing elongated canines.

Turning to Eira, I growled, "what is the condition of Noir's father?"

The gahe stared, immediately responding, "I sent Ama the moment I received word. From what she has sent back, the father, Khinn, is stable. He has a dislocated shoulder and had some major gashes but Ama was able to heal those. He isn't in fighting condition but he can move around in need be, Alpha."

"One of you go and bring him here" I growled once more, not directing it to anyone in particular.

"NOW," I shouted before Eira, Gaelin and Rada stood quickly, knocking their chairs back and rushed out of the door, tripping over one another in the process.

Now we wait.
