Gavrill's POV

If I'm being completely honest, I didn't think Noir would change, let alone when she did. The timing was a mystery I would have to look into further.

"Gavril," someone spoke before water splashed my face bringing me back.

"Stop doing that," I laughed, splashing Noir.

When I dunked her underwater, Alistair growled and I just looked over at him and shrugged.

Even though he was angry earlier, Alistair seemed happy to join us but since he got in the water, he's done nothing but watch us from his own little shade that shadowed a small portion of the creek away from both me and Noir.

When Noir bounces back up, she turns to face Alistair, slowly inching towards him.

"Come on, Alistair. You got in the water, at least join us," she shouted, both happily and beggingly.

"Gavrill," a voice swirled in my head.

"What is it, Herlief," I questioned.

"You need to come see this."

"Alright. Where are you?"

"About two leagues Northeast of the border."

"Be there soon."

With that, I snapped back to hear Alistair refuse Noir. When she began coming back towards me, I just smiled.

"Sorry to cut this short but I'm needed," I flashed an apologetic grin at them. "It's been fun though."

"I wish I could say the same," Alistair growled now pushing himself off the stone slab he had been resting against.

"Everything alright," Noir asked.

I nodded but flashed a quick look to Alistair.

"See you two soon."

And with that, I shifted, taking off in the direction Herlief gave.

When I reached them, I shifted once more and looked at Herlief, Evernora and a few others.

"What's the matter," I asked as I walked closer.

When no one said anything, Herlief nodded for me to follow and when he pulled back a shrub, I stopped.

Laying there, littered in arrows and deep claw marks were three wolves and beside them, a beheaded a lycan with an empty chest I immediately recognized as Casimir.

"Who did this and when did it happen," I questioned.

"I'm unsure but from the colors of the arrows, they seem to be Moon Rock's colors," Herlief said, handing me an arrow.

Looking it over, I ran my thumb over the dyed feather fletching and upper sinew and growled. The feathers were a blue color and white, both opposite of each other.

Then something hit me.

"As anyone tracked which way they were heading," I shouted.

"I did, sir," came from a boy, who couldn't have been more than 17 or 18 seasons old.

"Where did they go," I growled.

Standing straight, he pointed in the same direction I just came from.

"Southwest sir. They seem to be following the creek."

A wave of panic rushed over me. From me, the Southwest part of the creek was where my brother and Noir were.

"Nebo. Valenner. Cuyler. You are needed at the South border at Avonbeg Creek. NOW and bring others."

Closing off the link, I stared at the small group.

"We have to go. NOW," I said.

"But the bor—," the young tracker began before Eskil pushed through, just enough to snatch the child up.

"Your Alpha and Luna are at the section of the creek where the intruders are headed," I spat, dropping the kid.

Everyone shifted then and we ran.

Half a league out, we were met by the others.

"What's going on," Nebo asked as other wolves tipped in agreement.

"Casimir is dead along with three wolves. The intruders are from Moon Rock and they're traveling down Avonbeg," I panted.

"Why so many warriors though," Cuyler asked.

"And some of the strongest ones at that," Valenner further questioned.

I didn't answer and after a moment of silence, Cuyler was the one that spoke.

"That's where Alistair and Noir are."

When I hummed in agreement, loud growls erupted from the group and we ran harder.

It was then I realized Evenora and Vuk were not in our group anymore and before I could question it, a howl broke through the forest. It was both a calling of help and a warning to those who opposed.

I stopped for a brief moment and howled, letting whoever howled know that we were on our way.

When I broke through the copse, our group was standing opposite of Noir.

Nebo had taken to his lycan form, Olcan, as had Noir and Alistair who were already fighting alongside Vuk and Evenora.

I didn't say anything to wolves and lycan beside me as I nodded and bolted off to join the fray.
