One - Family Trip

Hyena's POV

"Rise and shine, my dear!" I heard mom said as she gently shook my body. "We're going to be late for our trip and you don't want that, right?" she repeated as she pulled me out of bed.

"Omma.. Please give me 5 more minutes. I want to sleep more." I said in a groggy voice.

I was about to return to my bed when dad entered my bedroom and tickled me.

"Wahhhh... Appa stop it."

"I won't stop unless you get your lazy butt off from your bed." dad said as he tickled me some more.

"Arrassoyo, Appa. I will go to the bathroom and get ready." I exclaimed as dad stopped tickling me.

"Where are we going by the way?" I asked.

"Well, your dad and I had been planning to go on a vacation. We decided to go to one of your favorite places on Earth. We will go to Greece today and we will stay there for a week." mom said happily while she was fixing my bed.

"Assa... Thanks, Omma, Appa. Finally, I will be seeing my favorite place. I can't wait to take tons of pictures of the beautiful sunset there." I shouted with joy.

Oopps... Sorry for being rude. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Park Hyena. I am 18 years old and I am an only child. I am still currently studying and I'm in my last year in the university. I will be graduating in a few weeks from now. You might ask how come I am already graduating in college and I am just 18. Well, that's because I got accelerated many times when I was young.

Beauty and brains.. LOL..

I am so excited about my graduation. I want to apply in an Entertainment Company. Well, I haven't decided which company I would go. It can be in YG Entertainment or it can also be in JYP Entertainment or even in SM Entertainment. Well, that's the Big 3 in the music industry. Or I can also apply in FNC Entertainment, or Big Hit Entertainment or in Cube Entertainment. It can also be in Glorious Entertainment or even in Woollim Entertainment. Well, the possibilities are endless. Well homestly, I haven't really thought of an entertainment company that I want to go to. I haven't made up my mind yet, so I guess I have to think about it carefully before I send my resume.

Anyway, I don't want to think about it now because I am so excited about our trip. I have been bugging my parents about it and they know that I really love to go to Greece. Why? That's because I am very fond of Greek Mythology. I love anything and everything about it.

Yes, I admit it. I am a certified geek. I love reading books, music and so many other things that people in my age might think that's boring.

I also have an eye for photography. My dream is to be a world-renowned photographer someday that's why I took up photography as one of my elective subjects. As an Applied Music student, we were free to take any elective subjects that we want. There are a lot to choose from aside from photography such as theater, dancing, singing and even acting.

In my case, I chose photography because of one reason. Well, I like taking pictures. Ever since I was a child, I wanted to be a photographer. I had been very vocal about it to my parents. I guess that's why my dad gave me a camera at the age of 6. I can still remember that day when he asked me to go to school with it and see what I would do with it. He was so shocked when he saw the pictures I took.

Hahaha.. I can still remember his face that day. I bet he didn't expect that I was really good at it.

After that day, you will always see me with a camera hanging on my neck. You can see it with me anywhere I go. I even became our school papers' official photographer back in middle school, and also in high school.

My favorite subject is always about nature, and to be specific, I like sunsets the most. I don't know why. I just like sunsets so much. Sunsets create such a mysterious aura. I also like capturing the dusk. The dawn and dusk are my favorite part of the day.

When I was young, I always go to Han River after school just to take tons of beautiful pictures there. I like looking at the 63 Building while the sun is setting. It's so breathtaking.

Actually, my dream is to go to Santorini, Greece.

A lot of people said that the sunset is so beautiful there. I saw some pictures online and I want to take some great pictures of that place as well.

"Thank you for making one of my dreams come true." I said as I kissed both of them on the cheeks.

"This trip is our gift for you for being the best daughter in the world. You always makes us proud and this is just a small reward for you." dad said as he hugged me tight.

"Heol! I am your only daughter." I pouted at him. Dad ruffled my hair.

"Aigoo! Stop it you two." she said. "Anyway, we have another gift for you." mom said happily as she handed me a box.

"There's more?! Daebak! It's not even my birthday today. What is it?" I said excitedly.

"Mom and dad are really full of surprises today. First, the trip and now another gift? I am really blessed to have both of them." I whispered to myself as I get the box from her.

"The sooner you open the box, the sooner you will know what is inside it." dad mentioned as he laughed at my silliness.

I immediately took the box and opened it excitedly. I was really surprised when I saw what was inside.

"Appa! Omma! Thank you so much." I cried as I saw a brand new DSLR camera and it is comes in my favorite color, PURPLE.

"Daebak! You bought the camera that I have been bugging you to get me last Christmas." I told them as I stood on my bed and started dancing.

I suddenly stopped when I noticed that both of them are looking at me. I just smiled and looked at them. I am really a shy person and I hate people seeing me dance, except for my parents of course.

I am a good dancer, it's just that I really lack self-confidence.

I ran towards them and hugged them again. "Appa... Omma... Gomawoyo."

"You're welcome, sweetie. We are really happy that you liked our gift." mom said.

I hugged them both again. I am indeed the luckiest person alive because I have such wonderful parents who always look after my happiness.

I got up and run towards the bathroom in my room. "I will get ready now." I said happily.

"Don't forget to pack all the things that you needed for the trip, arachi?!" dad said.

"We'll go down now, sweetie. I need to make our breakfast. Are you sure you can do it on your own?" mom looked at me with a worried expression. She knows that I always get in trouble packing my things. I know I am quite old already, but who can blame me that sometimes I tend to forget the things that I needed because of too much excitement.

"Yes, Omma. I am a big girl now. As far as I know, I am already 18." I shouted back.

"Aigoo! Our little girl is now a lady. I can't wait to see her settle down." mom said dreamily.

"WHAT?!!" dad exclaimed. "She is still my baby. She's not going to get married until she's in her 30s."

"What 30s?! I will be too old by then." I told myself.

"Aigoo, yeobo! Get a grip! Our Hyena is a very beautiful young woman and she's already 18. Sooner or later, many boys will line up in front of the house and they will be fighting for her affection." she said.

"Whatever, yeobo! She is still my little princess. I will do everything and anything just to protect her." he said as he hugged mom from the back.

Little that they know, I could still hear their conversation. "Don't worry dad. I promise that even though I already had my prince charming, you will always be my king." I said quietly as I close my bedroom's bathroom to prepare for our much-awaited trip.
