Chapter 14

By now the sky had darkened, but a 'couple' didn't seem to mind that.

"I didn't think you would get this prize."

Runeas said excitedly as she held tightly to a stuffed camel.

Akira looked at Runeas and then at the camel that was being crushed hard in her arms and said, "You'll make it tear if you keep squeezing it like this. Besides, I told you I was good at games like that."

It seemed that Runeas didn't care about the first part of Akira's line, as she continued to squeeze the stuffed camel.

It seemed that she had enjoyed this gift.

Obviously, Akira didn't choose this stuffed camel at random, in fact, he knew that Runeas liked camels, so he decided to choose this plush one as a gift for her.

"So... That wraps up tonight?" Runeas asked with a curious tone.

Akira couldn't see her expression, because she was a few steps ahead of him when he asked this question, but if he saw her expression full of anticipation, he would get a shock, because she looked very cute.

Looking at the moon that had already settled in the starry sky, he realized that it was the perfect moment to take her to the 'special' place he had prepared.

This was the first time he would actually confess to a girl, since the time he had confessed to Rias, he had been afraid he would be killed by her.

After spending some time with Runeas, he realized that she was not that bad, and could actually be very fun and lively. Of course, you would have to forget that she was the ancestor of the Gremory clan, and also a legendary figure in the underworld.

'Damn, why am I so nervous?'

Feeling his heart beating faster, Akira decided to end it quickly.

Saying those words, Akira signaled for Runeas to follow him.

Runeas tried to hide the happiness in her tone, but it was possible to see that her eyes were shining with anticipation. Today her day had been a lot of fun, in fact it had been the best day she had had in ages, since she woke up few times, and usually didn't leave the room she slept in.

At first she felt a certain discomfort in being around someone unknown, but after spending these few days with Akira, she realized that it would be difficult not to have him by her side for years to come.

She enjoyed teasing him, and seeing his fuming face when she played tricks on him. Even though she knew he did it just to please her, she still enjoyed it.

The pair walked for a few minutes until they arrived in what appeared to be a huge garden, filled with cherry trees, there was even a huge pond that made the scene even more beautiful.

"We're here." Akira murmured softly, as he led Runeas to the center of the huge garden.

Inexplicably Runeas' heart raced.

Her beautiful face was red, she didn't know how to react or what to do.

Holding tightly to the hem of her beautiful red dress, she let Akira lead her to the center of the garden.

Arriving at the center of the garden, Akira sighed as he saw the beautiful scenery of the pond with some of the cherry tree leaves falling.

Even Runeas found herself lost in thought as she looked at the pond.

Looking at Runeas' back, Akira's heart beat strongly.

When he saw that there were only 30 minutes left before the mission failed, he decided it was time to confess.

Many thoughts went through his mind, but due to his nervousness he could not build up the courage to say what he had planned.

'Damn it! If I go on like this, I will eventually fail!'

"Runeas, I..."

Runeas' heart skipped a beat upon hearing Akira's voice, she was no fool and knew what was about to happen, for this reason she was so nervous. She didn't know what she should do.

She who is the ancestor of the Gremory clan, one of the few women to fight in the Great War and come out alive, didn't know what to do at this moment.

Gathering all the courage he had managed, Akira closed his eyes tightly and decided to say everything that was in his mind and heart. He knew that there was no more time.

"Even though you have a naughty and even a bit sadistic personality, I still feel I must say that with you by my side, there is no obstacle that can't be overcome and no challenge that can't be overcome."

"Our statuses are different, and maybe we can't really be together in this life, but I still need to say this to you. You are being the reason I wake up with a smile on my face every morning."

"And even if we can't be together, I want you to know, that I will always be there for you, to support you and care for you."

"Please accept my feelings."

At this moment Akira's heart relaxed, he knew there was no turning back now, and it would all depend on the response he would receive from Runeas.

If she accepted his confession, then it would be perfect.

In fact, even if the words he said didn't sound so real, he still felt that he could make them real.

Akira knew the problems he could get into, that was because he was theoretically still dating Rias, but that was something he would have to work out later.

At some point he had knelt down, while holding what appeared to be a dating ring that he had bought without Runeas noticing. His eyes were still closed, as he wanted to hear Runeas' confirmation before he could open his eyes and hug her.

A few moments passed, and he still had no answer, which made him think that Runeas was still thinking, but then the sound of footsteps made his relaxed heart beat strongly again.

A scent of flowers flooded his nose, he knew this must be Runeas' perfume.

He just felt the wedding ring being removed from the little box he was holding.

"Your... I accept your feelings."

A cute and at the same time confused voice entered Akira's ears.

Hearing the answer he was waiting for, Akira's heart leapt with joy, but his mind was telling him that there was something wrong, this was because Runeas voice seemed to be 'different'.

Akira hadn't realized it yet, but from the moment he closed his eyes to confess, he was no longer in the flower garden with Runeas.
