Chapter 38: Champagne Problems

Cathal ran towards them, pulling Kate away from Theo. He threw a punch at Theo who hadn't been expecting it. Theo touched his mouth and there was blood. Cathal threw another punch but Theo blocked him and retaliated by hitting back.

"Stop!" Kate exclaimed, wedging herself in between them to act as a barrier. "There is no need for this!"

"He was hurting you!" Cathal retorted, trying to get her behind him to where he thought she would be safer. "He's some kind of demon!"

"He is not!"

"His eyes were black, Kate," he pointed out, his expression panicked. "I know what I saw."

Theo wiped at his bloody mouth with the back of his hand. "I'm a f*cking incubus, Sable."
