Chapter 23: 'Tis the Darn Season

The semester was over. Kate and Theo had spent their days on campus before the holidays relearning each other. Sex was sweet and consuming. Their separation made everything feel more intense at finally being reunited.

Kate could've never left her room if she didn't have to. Theo was making up for the time he had lost and was trying to relearn a new world he had been absent from for two years. He asked her endless questions and she tried to answer to the best of her ability. And when they wouldn't talk, she ran her hands over his skin as if she could make sure he could never leave her again.

Theo cut into her practice time and encouraged her to rest more. She took more naps. She would wake up to him reading through the numerous books he had accumulated in both of their dorm rooms. He had a bigger pile than even Veronica did.
