Tess and her comrades followed Sensei as he led them from the training room to an elevator. She didn't bother trying to see which floor he selected, as the noise coming from it was already booming. The cacophony of human voices and the clatter of machinery filled the air.
The five teenagers trailed behind Sensei, walking through a vast hall adorned with jets, soldiers in green battlesuits, and a multitude of activities taking place. Their eyes remained fixated on the large opening to the outdoors, which flooded the room with natural light, offering glimpses of the familiar mountain they often jogged on.
Tess couldn't shake the uncomfortable feeling of being stared at by some of the Chewlete soldiers. She knew that the elders had already revealed her secret to everyone in that facility, except her teammates.
