Tess stopped scrubbing the plate and dunked it into the rinsing water in the other sink. She took it out and observed it on both sides. The white ceramic slab had not a blemish to steal her attention from her gorgeous reflection.
She added the plate to the stack nearby and unplugged the sink to speak over the draining water.
"That's it. That's the last one."
Szedra tucked her chin in and blinked twice. "I'm impressed." She unfolded her arms and leaned away from the center table to stand beside her. "I guess you did wash the dishes all by yourself the other day… Even though I never once saw a speck. You're an expert now."
Both Zino and Zack leaned off the edge of the counter and began clapping. Zack stopped to pat Tess on the shoulder and nodded like a dad at his daughter's Mid-Sentry graduation.
