When a Syb-victim broke a rule, they didn't just get sent to the Dean or reported. First, they got a beating, and most times it was from Beater. Beating students with bats was against the Academy values, but teachers turned a blind eye to it. But for severe beatings, the cameras would be tampered with to remove all traces. Beater became Tess's favorite target.
Beater got interrupted from arguing with a student when the loud slams started. He turned to see the student drinking water at the cooler while slapping her hand on the metal base.
"Hey, you, stop!" he yelled, grabbing most of the student's attention.
Young Tess continued hitting the cooler and Beater had to walk over to her. But Tess turned around before he could lay a hand on her and spat the water into his mouth like a fountain. Beater gurgled before some of the water went down his throat, choking him. He dropped his bat and fell to his knees coughing.
