Tess had figured it out. The Elites were invisible which was why they didn't have shadows. Her brows creased after connecting the details of their evil plan.
Her teammates would first find her trapped by chains like a helpless idiot in an empty cavern. Then they would run towards her not knowing the Elites were right there! She blinked after imagining Jade's sword swinging for one of their necks.
But wait. Wouldn't her smart teammates see the chain around her and connect it to the Elites? She gasped and looked closely at her shadow. It was smooth along her arm which meant the chains were invisible too. Her connected brows moved apart as she stared hopelessly at nothing.
